Ok. It's cute. It's fancy. I don't even like macaroons that much, but you have to visit a Laduree location when you are in Paris. We chose the location right across from the Jardin du Luxembourg. We got our macaroons to go and ate them in the park. Service was right on the money, albeit a little snobby. Six macaroons for 21.00!!!! They were the best I've ever tasted. Soft and oh so sweet! Get a variety. May have to try macaroons someplace else next time we are in Paris. It was worth the experience.
Hehe it was at the top of my list to visit the Origin of Ladurée, I've only tried their to-go macarons for dessert so I was very happy this time around to finally dine-in~ We were warmly greeted upon arrival and brought upstairs for indoor seating. Many patrons dining in (get here early if you can!) ordered their high tea set which looked lovely! Croque-Monsieur: delicious and not super rich even if the cheese, I love the execution of it since it just made splitting food easier haha highly recommend for a savory dish Latte Signature, Marie Antoinette: I love Almond items so I just had the Marie Antoinette was a must-get (since we're in France after all!) Light and tasty, not super heavy Almond flavor and paired great with my Croque-Monsieur Ispahan Pain Perdus (French Toast): Fiancé's dish and o m g this was divine LOL holy-- this is why they say the French are masters of desserts. The lychees + the macarons + ice cream, so good and refreshing and the ingredients, such high quality and a great pairing. Can't stop thinking and I highly recommend this dish, order it as an entrée and treat it as dessert, you won't regret it haha Chocolat chaud Ladurée: Fiancé's rich hot chocolate, he enjoyed this too but heh sorry, I stole his whip cream for this beverage because it was just that good looool smooth and perfectly whipped, cream and milk, also quality ingredients... might consider ordering the cream just as an à la carte next time haha! Excited for our next visit!
The ladurée has many unique flavors to choose from. My favorite were the apple tatin and citron (lemon). The most unique flavor I tried was the Marie Antionette Tea which had strong flavors of black tea. The vanilla (they may have given me orange blossom) was my least favorite, it had a strong taste of perfume. The inside is beautiful, with chandelier hanging down and macrons on display. Costumer service was great. The macrons were about €20 for 6.
This place is more of an experience than a quick stop for sweats. We just decided on the spur of the moment to stop in for some macaroons. The staff is very polite and they do a great job of mixing efficiency with personality. As you walk up to make your choice, they make that moment all about you and your experience regardless of the line behind you. However, in that moment of having a personalized experience, they usher you through the process without feeling like you were rushed. This is a master-level execution of skill. They have different size and designs of boxes to place your macaroons in. We chose a teal box that holds a dozen macaroons. At the start, they offer you a selection of macaroons to choose from for a sample tasting. Then, after you enjoy that, you make your selection. The macaroons are light on the tongue and heavy in the hand. We selected an array of different flavors and enjoyed them all. My favorite was the salted caramel. My least favorite was the rose, it tasted like I was eating my grandma's closet, musty old lady perfume (yuck!). The shop is cute and has a feel of a quaint tea room. Additionally, they serve other sweats and pastries, they are more than just macaroons. You've got to stop by for your own experience, trust me and go. Enjoy!
Laduree is world renowned as either the deceptively hyped or classically quintessential patisserie from France -- take your pick. They have been in business for over a century. They are masters in perfecting their brand as their pastel green and pink gift boxes are truly iconic and completely recognizable. Their recipe is top secret, only beknown to the head chef. As such, their macarons are highly sought after. A luxury brand Laduree has crafted, praise be. Maracons are priced at ~2,5 euros each. Their most unique flavor is the Marie Antoinette which is an Earl Grey infused macaron. The Earl Grey flavor is intense which I do not mind, but it could be an acquired taste for most. Their Framboise/ raspberry is my usual favorite and although oddly bright in color, the tart raspberry flavor is quite bright and melty. The pistachio to me tasted overly manufactured and artificial, however. The shop screamed snooty and uptight, but, although a world known brand, it does still attract the local Parisian or two. Despite its popularity, do NOT make the mistake of ignoring the other macaron patisserie in the area which are quite worthy of praise and attention.
While in Paris, must pick up some macaroons to enjoy. Service was friendly and appreciated when service is able to speak English. Very elegant feel to this macaroon cafe. Pistachio and chocolate were the macaroons of choice. Both had good flavor. Just a bit more sweetness than I prefer but overall good flavor and texture.
I love Laudree so much, but this one in Luxembourg was a disappointment. Although the Macaroons were delicious the staff was so rude. I ordered a coffee to go and they got angry we ate the macaroons inside while waiting for the coffee. It was so bizarre. Good food but the service can use some work
Wow this place was such a great experience and our waiter was so friendly! By the time we came, a lot of the things were already out but we still got their most popular tea and the matcha latte along with goodies. The matcha latte was not good at all, but I should've ordered something else because don't think they're known for their matcha lattes. Their tea was amazing though-- the floral taste was so apparent and balanced out the really sweet treat. Forgot what my cake was called but it was phenomenal. Great hazelnut taste and it wasn't too sweet , just the perfect amount. Already missing Paris :)
I have been to Ladurée before (for the cookies), but this time? We ventured up to the tea shop. Heads up: if you are coming on the weekend, there will probably be a wait, but please don't let that discourage you! The tea shop on the second floor is absolutely adorable and really should be on any pastry-lover's bucket list (ditto if you are into tea houses). Calm, refined, and civilized, it embodies everything that "tea" should be. Mom ordered a pot of tea and she deemed it delicious (she is often disappointed by hot tea--it is rare that we find an establishment that makes it properly). I ordered the hot chocolate with chantilly, and it filled me with mirth. (Warning: it is a dessert unto itself. This is not the insipid cocoa that comes from powder in an envelope. Imagine a cup of chocolate truffle, and you are about right.) We both ordered the plaisir sucrée, and now I need to go back to Paris to take a pastry class. Definitely come here for a special treat tea. read more
- Free WiFi but no outlets - Friendly staff who speak English well - Famous for macaroons, you can purchase at the Store downstairs for takeaway - or if waiting to dine in, head upstairs where there are 8 tables We went upstairs to sit and enjoy afternoon tea, complete with delicious Macaroons, pastry, tea, and a pretty cappuccino. It was a cozy and intimate setting and overall a great experience. Of course, the macaroons were amazing! Loved that the cappuccino came with their logo on top of the foam. And they gave us 2 scrumptious Laduree chocolate squares, which was a nice treat! read more

Macarons were a dessert that I definitely wanted to try during my trip to Paris, and we decided to check out Laduree since it's one that's pretty well known. They had quite a few options when I went with some interesting flavors, so there's a good amount to choose from. For instance, they had ones like Orange Blossom, Salted Caramel, and Marie Antoinette Tea that I had tried. All of them had great flavors, while the textures of the macarons were light yet crunchy. I was not disappointed by it, and would definitely go back to try out more! Overall, if you want to try Macarons in Paris this should be one of the places to try them out at for sure! read more

Our last stop in Paris and it was worth trying! Flavors: rose and tea were my top two favorites. Service: the cashier was patient with us while we tried to decide our flavors for gifts and ourselves. The whole inside is super cute and very casual. read more

Some of the best macarons I've ever had. Simple but fluffy and ever so delectable. There's a reason this place draws the traffic it does. And they have many other fantastic treats! The staff is also very kind and helpful. read more

6 pack macarons 19,5 euros. Flavors: salted caramel, orange honey, lemon, raspberry, pistachio, and then the blue macaron which is a mix of three flavors. They do well on ensuring a nice presentation - you can even pick your box color. Beyond delicious! The best macarons I had in Paris! read more

Sooooo many sweets to choose from... I spent about $40 here and got 8 macarons and one plaisir sucré to go. Definitely recommend. Tried their chocolate covered macaron which are more expensive and taste good but, I did not like them as much as the original kind. Would come back. And spend just as much if not more. They have a store at the ORLY airport so that may be a better option if you're taking it as souvenirs for others as they would be more fresh. But they must be purchased before going through security. read more

A wonderful place to either pick up macarons/pastries or stop in for a tea! We did the latter and had an amazing time. The service is great and the atmosphere is very quaint. I got the matcha latte and a pistachio macaron and they were both amazing. I would definitely recommend! read more
I bought the box of 12 so I could try different flavors. My favorites were the Marie Antoinette Tea, Lemon, Orange Blossom, and the Christmas one. The service was excellent on the day that I went and of course the shop was decorated beautifully. read more

I have the pleasure of recommending both Ladurée and Pierre Hermé. (More exotic flavor macarons and filled croissants i will head over to Pierre) but -- Ladurée wins hand down in the fact I can actually sit for an experience. The meals are extravagant, delightful, filling, and delicious. It was my favorite afternoon cafe experience, outside of The Willard in DC or Cafe Rischarts in Munich. I've had the best hot chocolate in Paris right here. I also tried the large raspberry lychee macaron thing which was outstanding. Unfortunately a lot of the desserts on the menu were already gone by 4pm so I tried the usual popular ones everyone post. My husband went the lunch route and was very happy. This was a highlight of our trip after a long few days of museum hopping. I will be back every time. read more
Restraint. It's something I usually forget to pack when I travel. Like a toothbrush that I don't ever remember to put in my toiletry bag. I don't know if it was my subconsious, subconciously telling me: "you're on vacation! go for it! you can go back to your healthy diet when you go home!" (hey, it's a healthy diet as long as I start my day with oatmeal!) With the artfully decorated window displays and the pastry case constantly teasing me the longer I stare at them, I decided to order one of everything. Kidding. 6 macarons. A cafe eclair. A Rose-Raspberry St. Honore. Parisians have a thing for packaging. There she was, standing there taking her time, folding the boxes just right and gingerly taking the Laduree embossed sticker to seal the boxes. Here's what's going through my American head: "Oh. My. Gawd. GIMME! GIMME! GIMME!" My St. Honore Rose-Raspberry has a choux pastry for a base and then built up with little "profiteroles" filled with rose flavored whipped cream and raspberry filling. It was so, so, so good! My picture doesn't look as perfect since my pastry got smushed during the metro ride. The coffee eclair held up better during our commute. The custard is generous but the shell itself was a bit thicker than I'm used to. The only thing that comes to mind when I think of coffee eclair is Thomas Keller's version at Bouchon Bakery which is pretty damn awesome. I proceeded with my sugarfest by eating all the macarons. Only interrupted by gulps of water in between to cleanse my palate, these macarons are hands down, the BESTEST (is there such a word?) macarons my mouth has ever come in contact with! I can't even begin to tell you that the macarons we have in the U.S. come nowhere compared to the ones at Laduree. Crackly exteriors, airy insides that hold glorious flavors of espresso, raspeberry, rose, pistachio, chocolate and vanilla. The flavors were very fresh and pronounced. You don't go longer than a moment thinking: "I think that was vanilla?" Call me crazy but I wanted to go to Paris for the sole reason of getting my hands on these baked goods. I can give a rat's ass about restraint. read more

Classic and regal macaron haven! I love the Victorian style and elaborateness of the packaging as well as the entire brand, itself! I went head over heels when I stepped into this shop - especially when hearing about it from a friend that returned from Paris, with Laduree macarons! Ever since then, I can only imagine and dream about that day I will finally be able to say that I have been to Paris and have tried macarons! That day came and I was in love! I had to get their Marie Antoinette after visiting and learning about the marvelous Versailles gardens and the royal history! The fair blue color, is the perfect tone of expression to its fitful macaron name! The first bite of this, was heavenly! I felt fulfilled! As for their Pistachio macaron, I got the big size compared to the standard petite size that they offer because pistachio macarons are my favorite! I couldn't resist and every bite of this, was truly treasured and scrumptiously delightful! Please send me some Laduree macarons! I shall adore you till the end of time! read more
Good macaroon and an adorable shop but I prefer Pierre Herme macaroons more. They offer a whole bunch of pastries but everyone comes here to try their macaroons. Crispy shells and good flavors, but not as firm as I would like and they're a teeny bit more on the sweeter side. If you have time you can enjoy tea and pastries in the seating area. Next time, Pierre Herme for macaroons but I'll definitely try other pastries at Laudree while sipping on some tea. PH's storefront is more mod and darker colors. Laduree's is classic, cute Parisian. read more

You lot of macarons were not mindblasting. You are, however, cheaper than your NYC counterparts so I enjoyed getting 8 macarons for about $23 whereas my friend paid $46 in NYC. Ouch. In any case... you're solid. And kind of worth the wait. read more

Laduree is a really nice place for coffee, tea and sweets. They make wonderful macaroons as other reviewers have noted. The shop itself is beautiful. This one on the Rue de Bonaparte had an Asian or Chinoiserie theme going on that was very tasteful and elegant. My macaroon was fantastic and I am not a big French dessert lover. It was airy and not overly sweet. Laduree is pricey no doubt, I would not go there every day or one will be broke in a heartbeat. The waiters very very nice and it is definitely worth a visit for a special treat. read more
