Just keep driving... you can do better. There is a significant decline in the quality and the portion sizes over the past year or so at this place. The portion sizes of the sides is shrinking. Hashbrowns are 1/2 what they used to be, toast is the cheapest thinnest factory bread available, and the bacon is paper thin, and apparently older than the average server here. The food is edible. It's just not worth the asking price anymore. Just keep driving. There are better options in Glen Flora or Rice Lake or Hayward or Cornell. This place is in decline. read more

It started out as a good experience. I needed coffee: they have good coffee. I ordered an omelette and was really enjoying myself. The food was good. The waitress was attentive. But the hostess needs to learn that she shouldn't stand right at the hostess station and clean her ear. She really went at it with a napkin rolled up, getting ready to go in with it to clean her ear... At the hostess station, right in plain view of me sitting there trying to enjoy my food. I almost insisted on not paying since I didn't get to finish my meal. But I paid, because I don't do stuff like that to people. Stopped in this morning, greeted with Happy Father's Day! Waitress was friendly and fast. The place is bright and clean with plenty of seating. We both ordered the country benedict. Two biscuit halves topped with sausage on patties, poached eggs and country gravy. Recommended by a local resident we were totally happy with the food. A few Senior specials: Roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, and corn-covered with white gravy. Included breast and leg pieces. They were tasty. Liver and onions with brown gravy, mashed potatoes covered with brown gravy and corn. The liver was a large portion. My other guest had a taco salad in a shell. Countried fried steak with country gravy and chicken dumpling soup. She said the soup dumpling was pasty. But-we all loved the pies. We were told they were hand made from the bakery down the street. PIes we ate were: pecan pie; I had apple pie and the crust was sooo tasty, fresh and apples were not overly sweet. Our waitress, Elli, was so patient with our changing orders. She kept coming back to assure our comfort and asked if me needed anything more. I ordered two orders of omelettes. one was NO ham add double sausage I got home and it was double ham and no sausage so I called and talked to the night manager, right from the get go, this lady was argumentative with me and the only thing she said was "well sorry" like with no fix it plan or anything, then I asked to speak to another manager. she said she was the manager so I told her I'll just call tomorrow and speak to someone because I'll either need a refund or a new order which I thought was reasonable. after I mentioned that she hung up on me so I felt that was a slap in the face. customer service from the younger staff was great. however the NIGHT MANAGER needs to learn how to solve problems without hanging the phone up on a customer that spent almost 30 dollars there. read more

Chicken noodle soup has highlighter color broth, they probably opened up a can of Campbell's chicken noodle soup and threw some old vegetables in there. Had the mushroom Swiss burger as well. The Best: BREAKFAST! You want a grade-A place to grab a huge omelette, pancakes, or a mountain of bacon? This is the spot to do that! The pie during their lunch and supper times is also absolutely superb. I've actually bought a whole pie from this restaurant - that's how good it is. The Middle: The consistency changes a lot, at least in my opinion. While I lived in Ladysmith I think the owners changed hands 3 different times, so there was always changes and you were never sure what you were gon' get. It has straightened itself out now though, and is better. Service is also hit or miss. Either spot on, kind of attentive, or nowhere to be found. The Worst: I'm not a huge fan of their dinner specials. Everything is a little on the bland side for me. I ordered a taco salad and the meat inside was barely seasoned. The burgers are kinda blaaah. And the prices are a little high when it comes to dinner, for the quality that you're getting. I still will come here with the family though. Their lot was almost full and that seemed like a good sign. I had chicken dumpling soup. Very good: 4/5 stars. Small dumplings that were not doughy. My main entree was a chicken bacon wrap. It was also very good. It came in a spinach wrap. Not too much ranch dressing inside. I tried my wife's grilled chicken sandwich with fries. I'd give them 3.5 stars. Clean inside. Clean bathrooms. My wife, baby, and I went to dinner here while traveling on business on a weeknight. We were happy with both the food and the service. The service was excellent. The restaurant was relatively busy, but we were well taken care of, and our waitress was great. She was both very kind and attentive to our table. The food was quite good, though I'm guessing quite a bit of it had been frozen and then cooked/reheated due to the bread ding on the cheese curds and the shape of the burger patty (looked preformed). Don't get me wrong! The food was good and way better than fast food. It didn't taste like a freezer or anything like that. I work in Ladysmith and this is my favorite place for lunch. They have very good salads, sandwiches, and wraps. My favorite are the Greek salad and taco salad. I have stopped here often on car trips up to northern Wisconsin and I really like it. The servers are friendly and I see many of the same faces each time- it is a thriving local place. They have a huge menu so I never have trouble finding something for everyone. The kids like it a lot. Salads are huge and fresh. When I went there last Sunday I got the jumbo shrimp and enjoyed it. My mother in law got the liver and onions which she felt was lacking some flavor. My husband liked his food but had to donate his rice to my 2 year old who loved the rice and wanted that instead of his Mac and cheese. Overall a pleasant place for a meal on the road. Not even when given medical proof that the patron in question has undergone medical procedure which severely limits the amount of food that can be eaten. Why ??
