The vibe at this place was great. Service was very nice. Burger and fries were just ok. Wings were cooked well but sauce was underwhelming. Cheese curds were ok too.

Love this brewery! Amazing beers, great food and outstanding service. Visited with friends, who were reluctant to seat inside due to Covid, and were immediately seated outside. Mushroom pizza is great. Burgers are fantastic, and nachos can feed an army!

The salmon and pizza were both very delicious. Bonus if you enjoy local breweries...IPAs and stouts, then this is a great stop!

I was ready to give this place a one star review. We went for lunch and even though the place was mostly empty, the hostess said we had to wait so the server could "get organized". We waited for about 10 minutes and were finally seated. After being seated we waited another 8-10 minutes with no one coming to take our order or even ackowledge us (including the hostess who sat us), even though there was NO ONE in the seating area. We noticed people getting served right away at the bar, so we got up and went to the bar. Thankfully we were greeted by the friendly bartender who immediately took our order. We had the ah-spoonah beer hazy IPA and strawberry lemonade (both good). I ordered a thin and crispy pizza and was pleasantly surprised that they actually listened! It was perfect! Also had the Ceasar salad which had hard boiled egg (very good). The bartender saved the day!

When I visit Spooner, I usually end up at Round Man because it's got a solid tap list and decent food. Like other reviewers have said before me, this place is ALWAYS busy. Expect to wait at least 20 minutes for a table. Luckily, they give you a pager to let you know when your table is ready. The general store next door is in range, so I usually browse while I wait. I like how their beer menu is designed. It gives you a good sense of what you're getting. I wanted to try the RazzBeret seltzer, but it was out of stock. The waitress suggested I get a cider instead. It was a little too sweet for me but still tasty. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked well, but it wasn't particularly memorable. I did really like the fries - I think they're beer-battered? My friend ordered the smoked wings and was disappointed by the lack of smokey flavor. My review was teetering between 3 and 4 stars due to the average-tasting food, but I bumped it to 4 because the waitstaff were extremely friendly and attentive.

This place is awesome. My family and I stopped in on a Saturday and what a awesome surprise. This is a must stop if you're in the area. From wonderful friendly service to a very cool environment, everyone will find something unique to eat and of course they have great beer too! We will be back.

We were looking for a place to eat on the drive home, found a gem! The restaurant and brewery are very well designed. I am not a beer drinker, so no beer review. The food matches the though the owners and staff put into building the place. The BLT has so much bacon is awesome, the marinaded tomato's add a wonderful touch. If you find yourself in the area stop in and have a bite...... or try Round Man's Craft Beer. And yes the name is an homage to Sir Winston Churchill, also the family name.

Service was good but I would not recommend the pizza crunchers because they were doughy and not cooked all the way through.

I got the pulled pork platter with coleslaw and Brussel sprouts. Pulled pork was bland and didn't have much flavor, lots of liquid on the plate. Coleslaw was coleslaw, take it or leave it. Brussel sprouts were the best thing I ate, they have hot honey and I'm a sucker for hot honey. The drink I had was a chocolate porter from Round Man brewery, it didn't have much flavor, I've had better.

The location is convenient, directly off of the freeway in rural Northern Wisconsin. The menu offers sandwiches, a salad, and platters that don't disclose just how little meat is included (assuming they were 1/4lb servings). I opted for the pulled pork, which unfortunately lacked any flavor besides apple cider vinegar. I had to not only drench it in BBQ, but for the first time ever I had to salt the meat. My coworkers left hungry when their platters included only 2 slices of brisket. Points for creativity on their sides. I love the variety of options, but none met my expectations in the slightest. Overall, the whole meal lacked flavor, seasoning, and they should work on their portions/prices. Spending over $20 on a platter here is a waste.

I was cheerily greeted @ my 390th brewery by friendly April! We discussed the tap list and I began mentally building a flight. Decided to forego a $16 six pour flight for buying some tasters individually & just diving right in to a few goblet pours. Angry Minnow did not disappoint. This may be brewer Jason's first brewery gig since his Great Dane apprenticeship but...he is Dialed In! I told April and Taryn "each beer just keeps getting better!" There were three IPA's on tap and they said the Citra was the least piny/bitter, so I went w a sample of that. So well balanced, delicious. The Hazy was no slouch. zi started my beery voyage w a McStukie's Scotch Ale. I then moved around to a Tequila Saison Chardonnay Blonde Oakys Oatmeal Stout & a 9-Toe Doppelbock before wrapping up with a 5oz pour of Hazy. I was so busy chatting up customers and Taryn I completely forgot to ask about how the beers got their names? I guess a job for my second visit..... I love the brick walled tap room, the spacious tables and the variety of merch. Free street parking is easy. I opted not to eat but the small menu looked to quench any palate and it was good offerings, not just a burger or side salad. It's no wonder The Angry Minnow has been around since 2004!! They have all the offerings, including knowledgeable and friendly staff to slang it all. Thanks Angry Minnow for a fantastically delicious Wednesday morning stop. I don't make it to Hayward often but when I do...you will definitely be a stop! Cheers!

We were yelled at and told to move, even though there were plenty of open tables. Then later in the evening, three of us sat at a table while the rest of our group played slots, and we were once again yelled at and told to move. There were over 10 open tables throughout the night, so it's not like we were taking up space that other customers needed. We understand it was busy, but being repeatedly yelled at and told to move when we were not in anyone's way was completely unnecessary. It made the entire experience uncomfortable and left a really bad impression. Great small town brewery…read more The first brewery in Northwest Wisconsin. Valkyrie Brewery had been around for 24 years. Can you believe that? 24 years in a town of 400 inhabitants. That says volumes about community and good beer. This was our 2nd time visiting the brewery. We were passing through town on our way elsewhere and decided to stop. When we arrived not many people were in the taproom, just us, one other patron and both owners. True small town hospitality, everybody was friendly and welcoming as we joined the fun at the bar. There are no flights but you do get 4 free samples to try the beers. All together there are 14 beers on tap. After the samples you can order a 10 oz or 16 oz. The 10 oz is only $2 and the 16 oz is $7 and you get to keep the pint glass. That's a lot of beer to try and they have a lot to offer. The beers range from retro American lager, black IPA, Porter, bock, red lager and many more. For those who are not beer drinkers they do offer a cider, 4 Bitten Fruit. It's very refreshing, like an apple champagne. For designated drivers they have a homemade root beer. We were in for a treat as they offer a brewery tour at 1pm on Saturdays. We decided to take it and it was just us and the owner/brewmaster Randy. I mentioned it's a town of 400, right? But it is also winter and tourist traffic has definitely slow down. The brewing takes place in the basement if the building. They use old dairy equipment for a lot of the brewing processes. This isn't some glittering high end bank loan established brewery. This was probably the most informative and interesting tour I've been on in a long time. Or perhaps the most attentive since it's small. After the tour we head back upstairs to the main bar to run down the tap line and sample all the beers! That's quite a bit of beer. Great way to finish the tour and enjoy the wide range of offerings. Talking about the qualities and subtleties of flavors in the beers. Space is open with a variety of seating. Plenty of cribbage boards and card games to keep you and your group entertained. They offer free popcorn and range of spices to top it with. Ann Lee, the other owner, has her paintings on the walls for sale. Overall highly recommend if you're looking for good beer in Northwest WI.

To me it is the essence of craft brewing which is actually hard to find now a days. It isn't some bank rolled investment opportunity like so many are. It hasn't out grown its roots like so many have. It's a couple of owners who really like beer and hosting guests. They concentrate on the beer and ambiance over franchising and distribution area. They have been brewing for 24 years and you can tell. They are well entrenched in the industry and have a vast knowledge of brewing beer and showing people a good time. The brewery is in a small town surrounded by country roads. The brewery is in an old brick Ford dealership turned creamery right on the main drag. The bar is both spacious and cozy. The walls are covered with murals and beautiful home made art work. The husband and wife proprietors are true artists. There are over 14 taps and all with good independent flavors. I think a lot of craft breweries have 8 beers and they all taste about the same. Not here. There is something for everyone, even a cider. We were lucky enough to be there at 1pm on a Saturday which is tour time! Randy took us around and showed us everything there is to know. Since it was an early fall snow storm the tour consisted of just my girlfriend, me, and Randy. He provided as little or as much information as you could handle. We have been on many tours and he connected so many dots. He had an expansive brewing knowledge that he broke down to lamens like us very well. As you might guess the brewery equipment was mostly all modified dairy tanks and used 1960s pig iron. It was a lot of fun. It reminds you that skill and knowledge make good beer, not loans and new stainless steel.
