Terrible service, saw the waiter maybe three times. The food was cold. It was empty. The place is outdated.

When passing through Lafayette after 10 pm, your dining options (other than fast food) are next to nothing. We nearly ended up at Triple XXX, but I luckily remember they brewery. A quick phone call confirmed they were still serving food, and off we want. The bartender hurried to get our orders in before the kitchen closed and set us up with beer samplers. They had about 10 beers on tap and the four that I picked were all respectable. They had a coffee stout that I really enjoyed. The food was really good as well. I went with the bison burger and the woman had a cornmeal pancake with pulled pork on top with a side of chili-like baked beans. We both got a side a fries - hers seasoned with ranch, mine with cajun seasoning. No complaints with this place at all. read more

The beer is really good! The bloody Mary's on Sunday are actually pretty good too, for being $4 (only celery for a garnish, but good flavor). The food is not that great, I went there after reading these reviews thinking it was going to be super good. Nope, I've gone twice and both times have been underwhelmed- including the scott eggs. read more

I'm not that into beer so the main charm of this place was probably lost on me.That being said this place is pretty cool. It's a huge room in downtown West Lafayette. The place literally has those huge Indian statues you see in pawn shops and tobacco stores and a cash register with the green computer text. It's supposed to look dated, and I'm sure it's been around for a while. The menu is also served on newspaper like a little town flyer. So while it didn't blow me away, it's cute enough for me to go back. read more

Most of the food I have had is pretty good. The appetizers are all pretty good, but the onion rings might be the best ever. Avoid the soups, they are not very good. I like the Black Angus stout but it is kind of filling, so I never get it when we go to eat. They aren't open on Sundays. read more

Went to the the Lafayette Brewing Company for the first time last night. Food and beer were decent, but not spectacular. I'm looking forward to try other things on the menu. The prices are really not that bad - my boyfriend and I each had a beer, shared an appetizer, and ordered two burgers all for about $30 after tip. It's a nice local establishment and has a good atmosphere, so we'll be back again. read more

food was below average, place feels outdated, the bartender was completely useless, and the beer doesn't compare to say people's brewery (where i had just came from). walk into very large dining area. bar is separated on the west side of room. bar is fairly spacious with large ceilings and wide open spaces. "L" shaped bar along the west wall and north, which overlooks the brewery. copper top (nice tough) with large wooden rail. box foot rest. bar back is include the taps, a large mirror (which was great), and coasters stapled to the wall. fairly unorganized and contributes to the blah atmosphere. low & high tables make up the rest of the bar space. wanted to like this place more, but it just doesn't measure up. read more

I've lived in Lafayette for almost a decade now & Lafayette Brewing Co has always been a go to for me. I especially favor this establishment when a friend or family from out of town comes to visit, because it is unique to our town. I recently visited with a friend from out of town and was grossly disappointed and quite frankly embarrassed that I'd raved about it. To start our server asked us if we'd like anything to drink as we sat down and we stated we would like to start with water. Twenty minutes goes by and our server hasn't returned to take our beer order or bring us waters. When he does come back I ask for the waters which he replied with, "oh yeah my bad I forgot". We are all human so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, it's just a water. We proceed to order our food and unfortunately my food comes out not only incorrectly, but inedible as well. Another 20 minutes goes by before our server returns and asks if we need anything. I proceed to share I didn't get the side I ordered and that the avocado on my sandwich is literally brown/black which means the avocado is BAD! Mind you this is a sandwich I've been ordering for years, because it's typically that good! He proceeds to say sorry and asks if I want something different and I stated no, because my date at this point was finishing eating. I don't expect things to always come out correctly or to have a perfect meal every time. But I was a server for 5+ years so I know the business well. I would have been more inclined to come back if someone had taken the time to come over to speak with me about our problems and try to better take care of us. Visited here last weekend and what a welcome respite it was from the heat and my hunger! I ordered the Black Angus Oatmeal Stout, which was very good (though could use a less gross sounding name, IMHO). The menu had typical pub fare of burgers, sandwiches, starters and salads. My group ordered the scotch eggs, which, as always, were a religious experience. This place gets props for having waffle fries, delicious beer, good ambiance and excellent service. (It was blazing hot outside, I drank like a camel but my water glass was never empty) There could have been more vegetarian menu options, but Lafayette Brewing remains awesome all the same. read more

By far my favorite place to get a beer in Lafayette/West Lafayette. I'm partial to the beers here as I've been coming here since the late 90's. The Black Angus Oatmeal Stout is my favorite followed closely by the Eighty-Five. The Scotch Eggs are the best I've had any where, period. Great place to grab a pint and a bite. read more

This bar's OK. It has a limited selection of medium quality beer. The only thing I ever seem to eat here is a chicken caesar wrap. And that's a bit overpriced. I've heard good things about the dance floor upstairs but never gone there myself. read more

An interesting location with a nice variety of in-house brewed beers. I had the Black Angus Oatmeal Stout. It was excellent, sweet and not too malty. The pulled pork sandwich, on the other hand, was just ok. However, the chips that came with the sandwich were good. One major plus was that the evening I went was half pint night (Wednesday). Slow and disorganized. Took 20 minutes to get a round of drinks for the table. Been waiting 45 minutes so far for our meals. Other tables have gotten their food and left and they were sat after us. Finally received our food and it was barely warm. Had probably been sitting in the window for a while. They even managed to forget a kids cheeseburger and brought it out 5 minutes after everyone's else's food. I finished my beer and asked for a water. Not typically a hard request but the waitress stopped by the table a few times before she remembered it 5 minutes later. Food was just OK. Easily forgettable and not worth remembering other than to not rush back here to eat. The craft beers were very good. So definitely come for those. read more

We came here for dinner after waiting forever at DT Kirby's for a hostess to never show up. They seemed to be a little short on help, because our waiter was running around like mad, trying to serve all the tables. He gets a gold star for his efforts. The beer was edible but not outstanding. Being from the great beer state of Michigan, we are supreme beer snobs. The food was quite good. The scotch eggs are da bomb, especially with the grainy mustard dip. I ordered the turkey burger, and my husband got the True Blue Burger. Mine was well-seasoned, and it comes with your choice of cheese. I love cheese. My husband's burger was peppery and topped with blue cheese sauce and crumbled blue cheese. The jalapeno coleslaw was yummy and definitely homemade. I should have ordered some, too. Great place downtown Lafayette. Really good food and good beer. I always get the burger with blue cheese, and it is always amazing! They have a wide variety of beers that they brew. Best selection of craft brews we found. They had 11 beers on tap ranging from stouts to DIPAs to blondes. The 'beer guy' came over and chit chatted with my home-brewing husband for a long time and gave him their brewing processes! LBC is a great place to get a beer after a long day. Their brews are all worthwhile, especially the vanilla bean stout. And while the food isn't going to knock you off you feet, it is reasonably priced. read more

I used to eat here at least once a week but moved away for 7 years. The menu has completely changed so I'm not fluent with it. I am disappointed they no longer offer the Armenian Chicken which was absolutely delicious. But I decided to try their Hickory Smoked Wings last night that are dropped in the deep fryer for a warm up when ordered and then tossed in your choice of their 4 homemade sauces. I had the BeerBQ Sauce and dipped them in bleu cheese dressing. Smoked meat can be overdone and become far too smoky flavored. But hands down, these were absolutely the best chicken wings that I have ever tasted. And there has been a lot. For $10 I believe a few more in the order would be better but oh my...if you like wings, these are a must try. Absolutely scrumptious!!! read more

I stopped here on a whim on my way up to Minneapolis and I'm very glad I did! Everyone I talked to was friendly, the service was prompt, and my food was out much quicker than I was expecting. 2nd time for me, the food is awsome, the beer is good not the best I've had but good!

Good for lunch and for dinner and for happy hour and for entertainment -- this is an all-around winner in the heart of downtown Lafayette. I've never had anything to eat here that wasn't tasty. My personal favorite is Armenian chicken, although the spinach artichoke dip is awesome too. Daily lunch specials at $5 a pop (including a pop, such as the brewey's own rootbeer) are too good to pass up. I've only sampled a few of the beers, but they've always been good even to my unrefined palate. read more

I had the artichoke dip for starters. Highly recommend it! Ordered med rare steak and got medium well... Good none the less. And the beers are always tasty. Large place, yet it feels like a small bar. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is good, and my friends that are beer drinkers, like the beers that they serve. My only complaint is the root beer, other wise I would have given this place 5 stars. The root beer taste great, and they make it there fresh. But I wish it was served cold, or better yet, in a chilled mug. Every time I've ordered a root beer, it always arrives in a mug that's warm, and so is the root beer. I love the free refills that they give you, but its still warm. In my opinion, I think root beer taste best COLD. Other wise, this is a great place to take everyone, including my friends with older children to get a good meal. read more

We felt the food here was below average; and a very dry. We ordered the all american chicken sandwich and the bison beef burger. The good part: the server was exceptional...a very nice and attentive young man. But, the food was as dry as it could be. Both the chicken and the bison beef burger had little flavor, probably because the flavor was cooked out and all that was left was dry chicken/beef. The beer was great, and the ambiance was normal "brew pub", although a little on the loud side. There was a good crowd there so hopefully we were the exception. All in all, we won't be back. Ordered a bison burger and 4 samplers. The samplers were served lukewarm and were all quite subpar. The bison burger was cooked well even though I requested it medium. They were quite stingy with the patty size as well (probably 3 oz). Chips were nice and that's it. read more

I came here with some coworkers for dinner around 7:30pm on a Friday night and about half of the dining room was full. I had the Boiler Black Porter to drink but since I'm absolutely not a beer drinker and am unqualified to judge them, I won't comment on it. For food, I ordered the Brewery Burger, cooked medium, with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms and substituted the brewpub chips with Parmesan fries. The food came out fast enough but was missing lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. The burger also came without any spread so it was kind of dry. Parmesan fries were just regular streak fries with some loose cheese sprinkled over instead of shredded Parmesan melted over as one might find at other restaurants. Service after the food came out was a bit slow, but as our table was busy chatting, it wasn't much of an issue. Overall, nothing was bad, but I wasn't impressed either. I wouldn't mind trying something else off the menu, but at this point in time, I wouldn't be bummed out if I never ate here again. read more

Decent food, but feels like your grandma's beer house. I like the beer, but you can tell things need a cleaning because everything smells and tastes of the same "I need a cleaning". The newspaper menu thing was an good idea, but they have not been replaced and just looks like garbage laying around. Time for a renovation so it doesn't feel like a bunch of tables setup in a gymnasium. Good move with the outside tables, but the inside just feels very off still. read more

We actually like this place, but on our last visit here they served me a cheeseburger with the pepper jack cheese that I ordered as well as the thin sheet of paper that was used to separate the cheese slices. It wasn't until three bites in that I realized that rough sensation in my mouth was actually paper! I didn't pay for the burger, but I also haven't been back. I've been to the Brewing Company a several times and think their beer is pretty good. Don't come here for the food, it's really hit or miss. Not sure who they had working in the kitchen Saturday 11/8/08, but they didnt' know what they were doing. Half our group's order was cold....I'm assuming what contributed to giving 2 of us food poisoning. I'm currently in between "upchuking" sessions and feel compelled to tell others. So, come here for drink, but eat at your own risk. read more
