The atmosphere is pretty cool here with an inviting exterior and nicely decorated lodge-y feel inside. We chose a high top table to accommodate a party of six. The table was fine but the barstools left something to be desired. Menu was promising and I was excited to try the Saturday's special - Prime Rib. Sadly it had sold earlier in the evening so I settled on the ribeye. It was good but at $32 for this area I expect better than good. They were also out of any red wines which was also surprising for 7pm on a Saturday night. My wife chose their special house margarita which was served in a rocks glass and cost $14. Glad I was able to dine in. I've gotten chicken wings to go here from the past and was not impressed at all. The dining experience was much better. I still wouldn't order the chicken wings. Even though I grew up near here, this was my first time finally visiting! It was quiet for a Friday night so we got seated right away with a party of four. We all ordered tall beer and it was delicious! For appetizers we split the pretzel sticks and the cheese sauce was so yummy. The best part was my dinner. I am always nervous to get Mac and cheese with meat since I've had bad experiences where it cost a lot but then only one piece of meat was provided, this was amazing. We recently had a very disappointing dinner. The ribs were served barely room temperature and had to go back. The waitress was very nice and told me she replaced the rack of ribs and didn't just reheat them. The new ribs were hot but they were dry and not flavorful (except for the overly peppery sauce). My husband ordered the steak. It was so fatty that much of it was left on the plate as inedible. We didn't even want to take the leftovers home. I doubt we will return. read more

This has been a favorite place of ours ever since we moved here 13 years ago, but today that changed!!! We ordered the wings, I remember the first time we were there the menu stated "the best wings you will ever have" and that they were, simply the BEST.... but todays were not even warm and as tough as could be, couldn't even get the meat off the bone!! Well, when I left home to meet my wife at loggerheads for dinner, I encountered a number of things that made the visit uncomfortable. First and foremost was parking. There is an entrance and an exit, the parking lot is gravel and rather narrow, and does not have marked spaces. I entered with a small Honda SUV and had difficulty turning into a space because there were long and short vehicles stacked one after the other. Once I found a space I headed towards the front door, and met my wife. Upon entering people door, we came into a nice, fairly cool air conditioned area that had the bar and a cooler of chilled water. It is there that you place your drink and food orders. Then when it's ready, they come out, call your name and give it to you. After you enter the bar, you turn immediately left and you go through another set of doors into the brewing room. I have to say that the first thing that hit me was the sheer heat of the room, not the fact that hey there are these big tanks holding beer. There is absolutely no air conditioning in this room, except for a few ceiling fans. In fact when you look up, it's not even insulated. The fans are attached to the Apex of the roof and you can see all the wood rafters. I'm sure during the cooler months it's very nice, but on a day that it's 85+ degrees outside, it was a veritable oven. I drank at least four glasses of water (my wife had 2 light beers), and I had to excuse myself twice because I felt like I was going to pass out. The only saving grace was the pizza because it had salt to help replenish what I was losing sitting there. The pizza was excellent: pepperoni, bacon & onion, but a tad too greasy. Maybe that's to get people to buy more beer? We won't be going back anytime soon. read more

First time there. Charming place, nice vibes but food was very disappointing. My half slab was way overcooked and very dry. Sauce was carmelized but had trouble cutting the meat. No smoke flavor. Cole slaw had little or no flavor. Wife had smoked brisket which she said was not dry but flavorful. Her baked beans were outstanding, but that was the high point of our dinner. We love this place in western Medina. To be fair, they had me at smokehouse and brewery. Nice main room with a good sized bar and more seating ii a room to the left as you enter the place. We were seated right away on a Saturday in a late lunch slot. Our group had three couples. Our server was very friendly, watched us for drink refills, knew the menu and offered opinions. Perfect service. I had a half-rack of ribs with a side of beans. The char on the ribs was just how I like it. Cornbread was delicious. My partner enjoyed her brisket - delicious and juicy. I had a couple of beers: house drafts of their Savage stout and peanut butter stout. Both were solid representations of the style. Took the family to Lagerheads for our first meal in a restaurant in nearly three months. Upon arrival, we waited outside for 15 minutes for a table. Once a table was available, we were seated a good distance from the next party, which is nice. They had a makeshift screen up to separate tables as well. I ordered a sample of five beers as this is my first visit to Lagerheads. My favorite beer was the Bedhead Red. As an appetizer, I ordered a bowl of beer cheese soup, which was delish. For dinner, I ordered a steak wrap with sweet potato tots. My meal was delicious. I found myself wanting a little more steak in the wrap, but it was tasty, nonetheless. We took our parents out to dinner and wanted to go someplace they have never been before. I have been here once before. It was pretty busy for a Sunday evening, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The hostess was pretty accommodating because they tried to seat us at a high top with stools that don't have backs and with being 8 months pregnant, my husband knew my back wouldn't be able to handle it. They seated us at a different table. We got the deviled eggs as an appetizer and they were the best deviled eggs we have ever had. The pulled pork sandwich was tasty, too, and there was plenty for lunch the next day. My husband enjoys the variety of beer they have. Went to Lagereheads BBQ yesterday after golfing at Shale Creek. There were six of us that placed our orders to an unhappy waiter! We started out with beers and shots on the rocks after which we placed our food orders. Two of us ordered their brisket dinners and one of us ordered a half slab of ribs. The brisket was not very tender on both dinners and the ribs needed a chain saw to cut them as they were very dry. Upon notifying our waiter we were treated with rudeness and were told not to say anything because the owner's daughter was bartending although I was quiet when notifying him of our concerns. Needless to say after patronizing Lagerheads BBQ many times over the last twenty years I will not be going there again!!! it never feels good to update a good review with a negative review, but i don't understand what's happened w/ the kitchen here. the BBQ used to be good, however, the pulled port went from fantastic to downright terrible. Danielle and I had dinner here last night and i ordered a longtime favorite - the Sloppy BBQ sandwich and all i could taste was grease. the bottom of the bun nearly disintegrated due to being so soggy w/ grease. i suspect they're pulling pre-cooked pork from the refrigerator and throwing it on the flattop to heat it through and adding oil when pork is already oily enough and requires no more. anyway, been feeling like hell all day today as a result. on a positive note, the appetizers are good. we had smoked deviled eggs and boars tails and both were fantastic. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table on a Saturday night. Reservations are not accepted, so choose your arrival time wisely. Our server was Laura, and she was fantastic, but oversat so we didn't see her a ton. Even she found out it was our first visit, she offered suggestions on what beers she thought we would like. She was very friendly and welcoming. We started with the smoked deviled eggs. They were fantastic! Smooth filling and served with jalapeño slices and some candied (?) bacon. Great balance of salty and sweet. Then we shared the sampler which was a portion of ribs, pork loin, brisket, and pulled pork. My favorite was the brisket. We also got some sides to supplement all that meat. I enjoyed the dill cole slaw. The beer was good too. The lager was my favorite, and the peanut butter stout was a close second. We stopped in today to inquire about catering for our upcoming wedding reception. We had a good meeting with John and then sat at the bar to try some menu items. First, we ordered a flight of 5 beers. Then, we decided to try the Smokehouse Sampler and the Hickory Smoked Chicken Half (herb crusted). Oh my goodness, the amount of food we ordered was more than enough for 3 people! We tried the sides: the sweet potato tator tots, baked beans, coleslaw and macaroni and cheese. The macaroni was the only item that was so-so, all other sides were absolutely delicious! Moving on to the pulled pork: comes with bbq sauce on the side, but it is not needed! It is full of flavor and Smokey. The ribs are meaty and large...my fiancé described them as candy. Smokey, sweet, great char - a really good rib. The wings were fall off the bone tender and we enjoyed the sauce we chose. The brisket...where do I start? It is thick sliced but you can cut it with a fork. Full of Smokey flavor and yummy with their sweet BBQ sauce. Lastly, we tried the chicken, which was full of flavor and the presentation was a thing of beauty. My fiancé got a gigantic slice of carrot cake to bring home and just tried it a little - said it is one of the best he's ever had. Stopped by for a lazy afternoon lunch recently, sat at the bar to watch the Ryder Cup as well. I ordered a "Refresher" IPA and settle in on a pork sandwich. When the meal arrived, the pulled pork was served on a large hoagie style roll (dry) and came with fries and a pickle spear. The available bottled sauce is both slightly sweet and spiced but also had a somewhat coffee / clove taste to it (I just could not put my finger on the unusual flavor). The fries were a bit overdone, but adding malt vinegar helped cure that. My beer choice was a nice accompaniment, and the meal was neither rushed nor slow...just right. read more

Ate here early on Saturday nite with a group of 4. They only have prime rib on Saturday for dinner and that's why we came here, so two of us got that. I had the large 20 oz piece and another person in our party had the smaller size. It was perfectly cooked (medium) with horseradish cream and au jus The other two in our party had a hoagie (brisket and chicken) I also had one of the special on-tap beers that was rather citrusy (triple top something-or-other) Portion sizes were pretty good, especially the fries.
