A morgue would have been more welcoming than Lago del Pino. Our server was extremely rude and degrading because we paid in cash (had to get change for $100 boo hoo). We didn't even drink our cocktails and left due to how nasty she was to us. This place has so much potential but is severely lacking in several areas and this is coming from someone who has worked in the industry for 16 years. Staff appears miserable, it's more quiet than a library, and awkward throughout the restaurant. The patio is in shambles and dirty. Like come on, you own a restaurant worth millions of dollars and it's clear you have no pride in your building or employees. Below is a photo of our server (intentionally did not include face for respect, but it's obvious to staff who this person is).

Our sweet bartender Cadence! She's absolutely amazing and took care of our every need!

This place is absolutely breathtaking! The bartender, Cadence, was so helpful with the drink menu and offered us amazing drinks that looked like they came out of a magazine! She entertained us while we waited for our table. Such a sweet, hilarious and hard working girl! The wait staff were all very great to be honest! I had the tortilla soup and it was delicious! My friends had the fajita platter! The only thing I think they need to bring back according to the other reviewers is the live music! That would have been amazing to have with the beautiful atmosphere we were surrounded by! We will DEFINITELY be back!

Checked out this place on a day trip to Tyler and it's a must for tourists and locals. The setting is beautiful! Highly recommend going during sunset so you can experience both day and night on the lake, and they even have live music. The food was great. Was it my favorite? Not quite just because it did feel a bit limited compared to other Mexican restaurants. But I don't think this is a "Mexican restaurant," they just had elevated Mexican food on the menu. And the staff was super nice! We were celebrating an occasion which they didn't really do much for, but we got a great seat on the patio and that was nice. Really good spot to celebrate things. They even have a big bar and seating area inside. Like someone mentioned in another review, it is more casual inside/outside though. It's not super fancy like you would think.

The ambiance and food was awesome. We decided to eat outside. The service was wonderful, super friendly! They even suggested to do half queso and half tomatillo sauce on the chilaquiles, and I am so glad I did they were amazing!!! Desert was great, the cake was a little frozen but it added to the experience. It was different than a traditional cake. Can't wait to visit again!!!

We came here for a family dinner on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend (the Saturday before Easter), which may account for why they were so understaffed. Our waiter, when present, was incredibly friendly and we liked him a lot, but he was clearly swamped. We were served our first drinks right away, but our meals and re-order of drinks took forever to arrive. When they did, some of our food was good, and others were not so great. Overall the best thing about this place is the ambiance. The building itself is beautiful, and it's on the water with a great view. However, most of the outdoor seating is set up for couples or two-person groups only without a reservation well in advance. While we were there it looked like a band was setting up to perform, with ample room for dancing. So maybe a place to go back for a date night as long as you don't mind slow service.

There's plenty of nice local establishments, but some can be pricey and some are just more casual than you want. Scott Williams has perfected the restaurants of Tyler that are balanced between affordable and still quite nice. He got his toes in the water with FDs, before expanding into Javi's, Twelve, and now the fanciest of them all in III Palms. I thought of all those options, Twelve would be the most unique and tasty for my girlfriend and I. We went in an hour before they closed on a Sunday and were seated immediately. We weren't too hungry so we didn't expect to be there past their closing time, and we were ready to go. Our waiter was quick and attentive, bringing us water and helping us decide on drinks from the bar and our order. He also showed us their insane over-the-top whiskey menu. If you like whiskey, give Twelve a shot I guess. To order, I just got their 'Osaka Style' Pressed Roll while my girlfriend got a Sushi Bowl Salad. We got Sweet Potato Fries to share. As for drinks, I started with their Monkey See, Monkey Do, an impressive and firm beverage, while my girlfriend ordered their Destin Dream, a fun Pina Colada-like drink. It wasn't long before our food came out. The sushi was beautifully plated with some wasabi and pickled ginger on the side. I destroyed all the rolls. They were all very fresh and very high quality, which was remarkable for their $13.50 price tag. My girlfriend's sushi bowl looked insane. She ate most of it, but I filled the gaps and devoured the rest of it. The sweet potato fries were crispy and heavenly like all sweet potato fries usually are. I felt adventurous and I got a second drink of their Rose Garden, which was simple but flavorful. Compared to FDs, the menu might be a little more sea-inspired and more adventurous, but I think it leads to better, more unique food, especially with offerings like Oyster Rockefeller and a sushi bar. I also know Twelve does a great brunch as well, so keep that on your radar. Ultimately, as the bill came, the price was very manageable even with the alcohol. It's nice that you don't fully have to break the bank to have a nice meal in Tyler thanks to places like Twelve. I rate it a 12/10. Get it? hahahaha... We sat at our table for 15 to 20 minutes without a single staff member acknowledging us. No server came over, no waters were offered, and no one even checked in. The restaurant was not busy, so there was no clear reason for being ignored like this. We asked to speak with a manager and no one ever came. After waiting and realizing no one was going to address the situation, we left. This experience was frustrating and honestly unacceptable, especially for a group that made a reservation and showed up on time. If you are considering coming here, be aware that you may be seated and then completely ignored. I would not recommend wasting your time.

The French onion soup seems to be popular here, and as soon as I saw that buttery-looking pastry puff baked on top, I knew I had to order it! It was definitely hearty, with plenty of onions (which I love). However, it was a bit saltier than I prefer. I do wish there were an option to substitute the onion soup with a chowder, like clam or corn chowder. The Reuben eggrolls were surprisingly good! I'm used to traditional Asian eggrolls, so I really liked this creative twist. The house-smoked pastrami, sauerkraut, and melted Gruyère cheese worked so well together. They tasted amazing with the spicy Russian dipping sauce (which I appreciated wasn't too spicy). It was such a flavorful and memorable dish! I'm glad I gave it a try.
