AMAZING TIME! This was my first time at a range and was excited to come with my son for his birthday. He has been wanting to go and since it's his birthday, today was the day! The range parking is when you first enter the lot, as seen in the photo. There is parking along the side and towards the front of the building as well. The front is being remodeled and should be open in a couple weeks and will be the gun store. Upon arrival, we were so very warmly greeted by all the folks inside. We signed our waivers and were shown all the packages they have available since we would be renting from them. We went with the first package. We did upgrade to a .45 instead of included 9mm. My son was drawn to 1911 so that's what we rented. The package was a great deal for us first timers, since everything we needed was included. From safety gear to targets. Once we were inside, the RSO, who happened to be the owner, Parker, was so awesome. He took his time and walked us through everything and ensured we were comfortable. About halfway through, we switch to the Glock 45 which was also a fun experience.g Going with the .45s was definitely a good choice. We both enjoyed shooting with them, the 1911 was a clear favorite for us both. I recommend this range for all who have wanted to try this out. I've driven by this place so many times saying I'll come here one day and never have until recently. I'm typically pretty apprehensive about coming to shooting ranges because in previous experiences everywhere that I've been to the staff we not friendly or whatnot which kind of ruins the experience (at least for me), but that was not the case here. All the staff here are super friendly and helpful. The price for a lane is about $24 per person, which is super affordable. They have a bunch of stuff for you to rent if you don't have it or forgot something at home. Definitely going to come back again next time I wanna practice. read more

This was my first time ever going to a shooting range, and I couldn't have picked a better place. Laguna Shooting Center was such a great experience from start to finish. You can check all the individual prices on their website, which I appreciated since it helped me plan ahead. We showed up right when it opened, and it was surprisingly busy at first but cleared out around 1 PM (Sunday). The environment was welcoming, and everyone inside was super friendly and supportive. It felt like a community, not just a shooting range. At first, I struggled to even hit the target--I was just hitting the corners and occasionally getting close to the center, but I honestly had no idea what I was doing. That's when a kind gentleman approached me and asked if I needed help. Turns out, he was actually an instructor there--his name is Mark--and he completely changed my experience. Mark gave me a few pointers on how to properly hold the gun, control my stance, and aim with intention. Within minutes of his instruction, I was hitting dead center, shot after shot. I felt so encouraged and honestly proud of myself. What started as a frustrating experience turned into something empowering. I also found out that Mark offers private lessons, and I'll absolutely be coming back to take some with him. He's kind, articulate, knowledgeable, and just a genuinely great teacher. I walked in unsure and intimidated--and walked out with a brand new hobby. I'm definitely coming back, not just for the instruction, but because this place has an energy that makes you want to stay and grow. Laguna Shooting Center - Not bad for beginner - Gun/Rifle Ranges Near Me - Elk Grove, California

I had to break in some handguns so I decided to come here. They had some bad reviews but I thought they were fine. The range is behind the gun store and has it's own entrance. They have their own parking area that is marked off by signs. I walked in and was greeted by 2 staff members. They asked me to fill out a form and sign into the log for the lane I was to shoot at. I was shooting in lane 9. It was bigger than the other lanes. It had good room to lay out all my guns. There are only 9 lanes so this is a small facility and I assume it gets really busy at times. I was here on a weekday after lunch so no problem. I saw some 556 rounds on the ground so I guess you can shoot a rifle here but I didn't ask. The range doesn't look long enough for that but I didn't know. I shot all of my guns and had a lot of fun. Easy enough and it was 24 buck as I bought one target. I will come again with my wife to shoot. Seems nice and it's close. read more

My friends took me here for my bachelor party and I enjoyed every gunpowder filled moment of it. $20/hr per shooter isn't too bad. I had my own guns , and ammo, but if you're coming to rent I think there selection is a bit on the smaller side. Ammo prices are standard and you must purchase their ammo if you're using their guns as require by other ranges. The range master and employees love what they do and you can feel it in their interactions. Easy to talk to and helpful when my CA compliant rifle jammed. First indoor range I've been to that can handle .223 rounds, but I come from the Bay Area originally so it figures. They allow rapid fire here and are proud to let you know that they do. Today was my first time visiting this range and I attended with a group of friends. First and foremost the staff is super friendly. They helped get us a set up for a safe and fun experience. While there I did have an issue with a rifle and the RSO was kind enough to give me a hand and recommended some alternatives to keeping it California compliant. Finally as I was leaving I asked for some information for future firearm maintenance and the staff provided me the information without hesitation. The range itself is a little smaller than other ones I have been too but I appreciate that they accommodate rifles, shotguns, and pistols. They have reasonably priced ammo on site and firearm rentals. My husband and I first time at a shooting range. We came out to Lodi for the weekend for some wine tasting And ended up going to a shooting range because everything else closed early. We drove to Elk Grove and were able to have a shooting session our instructors name was lee and he was very helpful. My husband and I were both nervous but lee made it very easy to learn. It's a solid local shooting center. Staff is friendly. Twice I had new firearms here and the range master gave a quick rundown of operation. He even oiled them up! This is an outrageously convenient range if you live in Elk Grove. They have a spacious lobby area and I think they even do some sales there - there was a display case but I didn't look too long because I had to meet family for dinner. I filled out a questionnaire and handed over my license while I went in to use the range. Eyes and ears protection required and you should bring your own paper target sheets. I believe they sell them there - but preferences matter. Went to zero a red dot and this place is smaller than what I'm used to but has everything you need. Booths/lanes also have a shelf so you can put your gear on the floor but also utilize the bottom shelf for speed loaders or ammo. Don't bring a lot of bulk - there isn't that much space. $24 for the time I was there..approx 90mins. I'd definitely use this facility again! read more

Went for my second time on Monday 11/18. RSO is really friendly as well as the guy at the counter. I appreciate that they allow you to do holster work, as well as "rapid fire". Most places these days are 1 shot per second. It is very important to have a place where you can practice using your firearm how you would ACTUALLY use it in self defense. I will be back. Took the fam here yesterday 1/25/20 for a shoot. Friend recommended this range, I last sent to the Gun Room in Elk Grove. This is a well run range and you can rent and purchase ammo here. You can shoot your AR's. Place was welll ventilated and the staff was very friendly and super helpful. I am an advanced shooter and former rangemaster/firearms instructor and watched as the rangemaster heloed a grouup of new shooters - he did an excellent job. The range master there, Mark, was a pleasure to meet. He gave me pointers on improving my grip and stance, and had good a conversation. He let me shoot his newly acquired kimber 1911 and Beretta, and made my experience there today a lot better than I expected. He offers classes and private sessions, which I'll definitely be attending in the near future. I brought my own guns and ammo, and this was my 2nd time here. My 1st time was many years ago as a newbie to guns, and I remember it being a easy process and the guys were very helpful in teaching how to handle the firearms rented. The lanes have a switch to control the target distance and there's a light switch as well. Overall great experience. read more

Had a few questions for an employee there and was met with a rude dismissive attitude. On top of that he said range was closed due to work being done . Drove 2 hours for nothing. My boyfriend and I always wanted to go to a gun range and stumbled upon this place on the internet. We heard good reviews about this place and decided to give it a try. I believe you are able to do walk-in appointment, but my boyfriend made reservations ahead of time. On our way to the location, it was hard to find the place, but just follow your GPS and you will find it! Upon entering, we were greeted by the employee and was asked if we had an appointment booked. He quickly got us started and got our forms ready to complete. We had to watch a safety video and was given a quick demonstration. I do wish he went more in dept about the process because it was my first time handling a hand gun. We got very lucky because we were the only ones there at the time and we had the place to ourselves. I drove up from San Diego to a friend's house who lives near this range to go shooting. I brought my LWRC rifle and a couple handguns to shoot and found out that I couldn't shoot my rifle there because I didn't have a "rifle card." That really steamed me as I have not run into this at ANY other range in Southern California and I have shot rifles at many of them even some 100 yard indoor rifle ranges. I think this is just a way of milking customers out of another $20. The range was also freezing cold with the A/C blasting at 100% on a cold rainy day in February where the temp was maybe 50 degrees outside. I could literally see my breath. I own many guns and have been shooting for decades and I will not be going back to this range. There are better places to shoot. read more

So, I've been shooting here on and off (more off than on) since 2017. Never thought much of it because it's a 15-yard range. However, in the last year, I've gotten really fond of this range due to good experiences there. Chris, one of their range officers there is one of the most professional and informative employees there. He has made the experiences there more ten times enjoyable. He spends time out of his busy work day to help teach,train, and challenge the group I go with while keeping the lane safe. I have not seen any other range do this . It's a safe and fun environment, and I'd recommend it to others when that range officer is there. read more

Went on a Saturday afternoon and we were able to get in to shoot and get out relatively easy. It took about 15 minutes to get in. The employees are very efficient. Prices are quite fair, at least to me. The range itself is pretty small, but it's whatever. There's plenty enough room to shoot. It's pretty darn clean, too. Only reason it didn't get a 5 is because the employees seem to not really care about COVID safety. Dudes be walking about maskless and whatnot, but it is what it is. Definitely will be coming again. Terrible experience, range is small, ammo is super overpriced. Range master is stuck up, snotty. Kept looking over shoulders, wouldn't allow fire arm cases to be out on tables. Just overall uncomfortable experience. Would avoid at all costs. Also while range master was stalking me the guys down the lane were flagging each other. For all you trashy ass people calling them "racist". There was a nice young black couple using the lane down from us. They were nice, well groomed, and didn't smell like marijuana. They were treated with respect and received attention and knowledge as they were new to shooting handguns. Now on to the actual review. What a lovely little range. Had two good trips here with my CCW holding step dad, and one with my GF teaching her how to shoot. Strange though, how much the RSO with hand tattoos attitude changed when I walked in one evening with my black friend. Apparently it was "too hot" to shoot, meanwhile there was a dude literally back there shooting. As i walked out the RSO said wait, are you guys 21? SERIOUSLY?! You think id come trying to shoot if i was a KID?! Yes im 24. No I'm never coming back here. Guy with hand tattoos makes up rules on the fly.
