I threw my friend bridal shower here. It is such a beautiful place and the staff was amazing. We did the mamosa bar they were so yummy. They have likes that can change colors in the boxes on the wall. There is a stage and a huge area to have all the chairs and tables. This is truly a diamond in the rough. Will definitely use this place again for events.

If you are imagining a relaxed, rustic-industrial style for your wedding, Lake Affect Studios is the place for you! This venue is the most beautiful blank canvas that you could imagine. Our goal was to have both the ceremony and reception at the same venue and Lake Affect Studios had exactly that. The industrial warehouse space had more than enough room to support our ceremony including a large bridal party and 150 guests. We utilized their main space for our reception, that included a built-in bar, mood lighting, and a stage which helped to create the romantic and chill atmosphere that we were going for. The space had the ability to feel intimate without being claustrophobic. Our guests had ample room to move about, either hanging at the bar, dancing on the dance floor, or hanging in the back playing games. The private bridal suite made it easy to take a step away or have a celebratory moment with our bridal party. The venue staff did not go unnoticed and went above and beyond to help make our wedding day a success. Finally, a big shout out to Stephanie who worked with us to make sure we had a layout that would work for their venue and a timeframe that fit the night. She supported us in our bar decisions and even allowed us to take pictures on the roof. She was an excellent resource and supporter for our non-traditional wedding.

I cannot speak highly enough of Lake Affect Studios. We decided to hold our wedding ceremony and reception here and we are so glad we did. The space had everything we were looking for in terms of location and atmosphere, and the service was unrivaled. Our wedding coordinators (Stefanie and Amanda) were amazing and went above and beyond for my husband and I. They anticipated our needs and made us feel like we were always a priority. I will absolutely use this venue for future events!

The Galleries consistently hosts some of the most innovative and internationally recognized artists. If anything, you must, at a minimum, stop by for the annual People's Art Show. The People's Art Show is a free, unjuried, uncensored exhibition celebrating creativity, diversity, and imagination. Any artist can contribute, and any person can purchase a piece of artwork directly off the wall. The amount of ingenuity, perspective and originality that sprawls from this exhibit is utterly fascinating. Regardless of the exhibition, you can spend a solid 1-2 hours exploring through this robust gallery. Once you enter, it's surprising how much quality art there is to absorb. The gallery starts in one open room, weaves through a narrow hallway, and expansively opens into another high-ceiling showroom. Take the time to wander, ask questions, and soak in the talent represented in this gallery!

There is of course this gallery, but there is also the Galleries at CSU at the other end of the next block. Anyways.... This was a cool spot. I first wandered in as I was taking a walk around downtown. I didn't realize the place was between shows and not really open. I wandered in the first set of doors and yanked at the second only to realize I would have to be buzzed in. A lady quickly noticed me. At this point I had gotten a better look inside and saw it didn't look quite ready for visitors; I was expecting her to turn me away. But she was very nice, let me in, gave me some flyers on upcoming events and invited me to walk around and even go downstairs to where a second gallery was being set up. She kept saying she was sure I would like it better if I came back for their opening reception night, but I actually liked it at this visit. There were some things you couldn't get a good look at because they weren't set up yet, but it was cool to see the place in a state of transition. Not often does the average person get to see a gallery with paintings on the floor, some wrapped up still, others leaned upon others. Such a presentation could be a whole contemporary art exhibit of its own...but I digress. I did return after the opening night and was even more impressed. My only negative comment would be the lighting. I think it was just too full force and not really needed to the extent it was used. However I liked all the art - there's even some in the workers' offices on the first floor. All of it is for sale - $750.00 to $10,000.00. Free admission. This is more than just a gallery. They service paintings in what looks to be a sizeable backroom. You can come here for restoration or framing needs.
