Half a Rachel (turkey Reuben) and fries
Frances B.

We popped in for a quick lunch around 1:30p pm a weekday and immediately were able to choose from several cute booths. The place was quite charming. We loved our little booth along the wall, with its wooden walls a little wooden canopy. We weren't very hungry and were grateful that the menu specified we could split a sandwich and just pay an extra $2 to each get our own sides. I wish every place offered that. Our server came quickly and was friendly and helpful. The food came so quickly it felt like we'd ordered ahead. And the server noticed my soda was half gone and immediately offered a refill by taking it back to the kitchen and actually giving me a fresh one rather than topping off the watered down bit I had left. We split a turkey Reuben ("Rachel") which was delicious. Husband got the lentil soup which he liked and I had the fries which were super crispy and absolutely addictive. Would come back here anytime!

Great little diner in the heart of downtown Lake Geneva. Service was great and they anticipated our every need. Kids will love it. Excellent place to people watch with both indoor and outdoor seating options.

Unsure why the reviews for this place are so low - maybe I got them on a good day or maybe people are expecting something besides a greasy spoon diner, but I had a good time here. Unpretentious and unfussy, Lake-Aire is - whether intentionally or not - a callback to the days when Lake Geneva was a destination not unlike Palm Springs or Newport and the Rat Pack were in vogue. My waiter was attentive and friendly and my omelette did not feel overpriced ($14) for a diner just a few clicks away from the lake. I'd probably opt for something fancier if I were visiting with friends or a partner, but as a single traveler not looking to overdo it, it hit the spot after a long day of walking and beaching.

Second time here, always good food and great service, so friendly. Definitely coming back

Nasty skillet

We went here after a very long night of having a loved one passed away we were all starving. From the outside it looks like a good breakfast place from the inside we couldn't even eat our food there are bugs all over the place. You can't even try to take a bite of food without them flying on you. I got the steak skillet the steak was thin and Wayover cooked it was chewy like rubber. The mushrooms or soggy and slimy I have never seen such a slimy mushroom the overall skillet tasted like shortening. The person I came with ordered an omelette it was way over cooked and chewy plus it was supposed to be a bacon omelette and there was maybe a couple flakes of bacon bits. Went to go and use the ketchup bottle and liquid with a little tint of red came out. Had to quickly grab a napkin so it didn't get on the food as if we were trying to save it for some reason. Chocolate milk was good.

Lake-Aire is a nice breakfast/lunch place located in Lake Geneva. I came here with my family for breakfast while on a weekend trip, and my experience here was pleasant. They have a lot of variety and options on their menu for breakfast and lunch. The food here was good but nothing to be too excited about. The chicken wrap was tasty, but there was not much chicken in it. The breakfast burrito is a good choice as well. The service was amazing though, all of the staff members were kind and friendly. They also have a good amount of outdoor seating.

Ruben with tater tots and plenty of pickles!

We stopped into Lake-Aire for a late lunch. We were able to grab a sidewalk table. It was fun to watch all the people and dogs stroll by as we ate our food. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered a Ruben with tater tots and my wife had a chicken salad sandwich with fries. Both orders came pretty quickly. The chicken salad was interesting in that it contained shredded cheese. But this is Wisconsin, so I guess it's to be expected. Both meals were nicely portioned and tasty. The restaurant itself has the "aire" of your traditional diner. It's a little dated inside, but nothing crazy. When you are finished eating you'll pay your check at the front counter.

For over 50 years, the Lake Aire has occupied, arguably, the most valuable real estate corner in this vacation paradise. Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, 82 miles northwest of Chicago, Illinois, has long been a four-season playground for area elite as well as the hoi polloi.  Watersports and beaches in the summer, skiing, snowmobiles in the winter. While the restaurant shows its age, it wears it well and is the perfect destination for people who appreciate standard American food with a sprinkle of nostalgia. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and their signposts "breakfast served all day" which is always a plus for me.  I've posted their menus below, and they are also online here. My fellow diner ordered the traditional eggs benedict (A florentine option also available), eggs were poached perfectly, hollandaise creamy, English muffins toasted correctly. (I know a restaurant in New Orleans that sells them for $35 and they are served on Melba toast.  Can you imagine?) I went with the pork tenderloin (they call it "Country Fried Pork" on the menu) and eggs, rye toast. As far as I could see, breakfasts potatoes are always ala carte, I passed on them. I've had some amazing tenderloins in my life, most recently in Walcott, Iowa, but there were giant ones in a small-town bar in Lenore, Illinois, and at an old-timey drive-in at Kokomo, Indiana (no connection with Beach Boys song). The Lake Aire's version was good, crispy crust, the meat remained tender, flavorful, and juicy. Sausage gravy at ample chunks of pork sausage in it, so it was a pork on pork meal. Homer Simpson would have appreciated it. The rye toast was of the marble variety, no complaints but I would have preferred more butter.  Sure, I could have asked for it, but I didn't.  One out of thousand times, a "healthy lifestyle" prevails in my thinking.  OK, one of five thousand times. The server was affable and professional.  I have a sneaking suspicion he's somehow involved in ownership. Final aside, their coffee is great.  Complete with real half/half on the side. The only thing I didn't enjoy about the experience had nothing to do with the restaurant or meal. And this issue burns me every single time I go to Lake Geneva.  I hate the downtown parking meter system. Probably some company sold the city a contract that they'd install for free in return for a large portion of the revenue.  It's the ticket on the dashboard variety, except you have to enter your license plate, and it's only available in two-hour increments.  The screen is hard to read.  The system is basically a nightmare for seniors and the disabled. Oh well.

Updated review: this spot gets 5 stars…read more We decided to give Oakfire a second chance and we are glad we did! The most important thing to note before dining here is that if you want a crispy pizza experience this isn't the kind of place for that HOWEVER their pizza is absolutely delicious! The food is fresh and full of flavor. The appetizers here are some of the best around. The views are 10/10 and we absolutely adored our server. All around this is a great place to experience Lake Geneva and we will be back!

We were seated near the kitchen area so we could see the hustle and bustle of the everything which was actually nice. Our family prefers wood-fired pizza and this did not disappoint. The Mickey Mouse pizza was a big hit with my daughter and the pepperoni & honey pizza my husband and I split was the perfect size, cooked to perfection. The sweetness of the honey drizzle paired with the spiciness of the pepperoni was spot on. For dessert we couldn't pass up the nutella calzone with came with a size of fresh strawberries. The flavor profile of this was amazing, the only downside was that it was not cut and was very difficult to cut, but other than that, highly recommend.

He researched for awhile and finally came upon this place thinking I would like it. We had 5 p.m. reservations on 12/1/24. This restaurant is inside The Geneva Inn hotel. It was beautifully decorated outside for Christmas. Walk inside and I just loved the intimate setting. We were one of the first to be seated and they placed us by the window. There was a card for me on the table wishing me a Happy Birthday which made me feel special. The sun was setting so we quickly got a chance to see the beauty by the lake before it got dark. Bridget was our waitress and I just loved her. She was attentive, funny and a wonderful server. It was nice and quiet setting inside the dimly lit restaurant. They brought warm rolls to the table - delicious! I ordered some soup of the day because it was so cold outside. I then had the steak served Oscar style which consists of crab meat, and a rich béarnaise sauce (which I had them put on the side). They gave so much crab meat which paired lovely with the steak. Simply delicious! Hubby had the Shrimp & Mediterranean Panzanella which he enjoyed. Highly recommend this restaurant. We definitely want to come back when the weather is warm to watch the sun set and possibly do the outdoor seating. We really enjoyed ourselves here and thank the restaurant for such a wonderful dining experience. Two thumbs up and an A+ rating!

Boats pulled up to the dock and people joined in the fun from there too. We happened to come in during the Bash on the Bayou event which indicated a seafood boil and live music. Unfortunately, we could not find any indication of the time of the event so when we arrived at 6:30 and asked, they indicated it ended at 7pm so we could not partake. The price for that was $45 per person, fyi. So we ordered from the menu. The Italian Porkchops were dry (overcooked) and not the most enjoyable flavor. The Walleye was a bit dry but good enough and the mashed potatoes were good. The "caprese salad" was just meh. The drink (the Pink Pig Punch) was good albeit a little sweet. In fact, if you don't normally like whisky, this might actually work for you. The staff was friendly and attentive, even with how busy it was. There were a few inebriated folks that nearly fell down the stair or spilled drinks if that gives any indication of the 'fun' being had ;) There is indoor and outdoor seating and the place has a fun vibe. But the food was mediocre, especially for the prices. Go for the fun and drinks but maybe skip the pricey meals.
