I just joined Thousand Trails the day prior. And my first reservation set. I had some traffic issues and arrived at about 8:30 after making a reservation at about 2 PM. May the young lady at the camper where the fish was my first time at 1000 trails camp and she said not a problem. Well, when I arrived at 8:30 that night, the welcome center was closed down, there were no guards in the gate and I found my way to the front door of the welcome center where there was a sign saying reservations are in a plastic box below take your paperwork. I look at my paperwork of course I didn't know if they do not assigned spots to people so I was confused as where to park. Drove through the park, terribly manicured tree limbs hanging everywhere hitting my coach scratching the side of my coach. To say the least, I was not happy whatsoever. I didn't notice on the paperwork there was a number for security if there were any issues so I called, again, and again, and again for two hours with no luck. Went directly to voicemail. After about two hours of being on property security guards coached my coach and knocked on the door. I open the door and the asked if I was OK. I told him yeah I've been better off of security answer their phone. He goes what phone? They don't give us a phone here. This place is going downhill. I said well why is the office closed he said I don't know normally it was open till midnight. Showed me around, the spots were so dark you couldn't even see. Not to mention I've never been at an RV camp where your hook ups are in multiple places. For instance electric was on one side of the couch, sewer was on another side of the couch and the water was at the back of the coach shared with the people behind me. Never my life. So I told him if he didn't mind I'll wait till the morning. He said no problem you can stay out in the welcome lot. 9 o'clock the next morning I went to the office. I told them what it happened and their response to me was we don't have staff to show you around sir if you don't like it here we can transfer you to another park. I just cannot believe the response and that was not just from the young lady at the counter, but the managers as well. I told him I'd be back in a minute and I went to my coach looking for another park. Located Chestnut Lake and I cannot tell you how nice and accommodating the people were at Chestnut Lake. I canceled my reservation with Lakeshore and was happy to go to another place. Once I arrived at Chestnut Lake they had me booked in for 14 days they gave me a beautiful spot on the lake and I can't tell you how happy I have been!! Staff at Chestnut Lake is awesome. read more

This campground had small sites that were dusty when dry and muddy when wet. We picked this campground for the water park attraction, which was not at all as impressive as the online photos lead you to believe. This turned out to not be a problem, however, because the water park was closed the two days after 4th of July for "maintenance" and was also closed the following day due to "inclement weather" even though there was absolutely no thunder; my guess is that they didn't want to pay the lifeguards to sit around waiting for the rain to clear up. We chose this campground specifically for the water park attraction. The men's bathroom was fine (for a men's bathroom), but the women's bathroom had a suspicious looking yellow liquid on the floor, and there were clumps of hair in both drains (this was the case for multiple days, meaning the bathrooms were not cleaned daily). The game room had a small handful of machines, the laundry didn't open until late morning, and the camp store didn't open until 10 am. The pool was nice and big, and the water was clean, but there were no lifeguards or staff supervising, which meant that many guests drank, played loud music, swore in front of my kids, and kept doing cannon balls feet away from my family. TLDR: this place is cheap, but not the good kind of cheap. read more

No. We were checking out RV Parks for future trips. We are TT Members. I would have to be desperate to stay here. Even at no cost to TT members. They do have a beach of sorts but the sites are crowded and many long term residents in the few RV sites. A lot of park model/cabins. None of the parks we looked at were good, this was not the worst, but it was pretty bad. read more

I am so disappointed in renting a cabin at Lake and Shore. No hot water, barely luke warm and no hot water in the shower. Never get a response from the office through a phone call so hubby went and talked to them. They said someone would come by the cabin after 8 am Monday morning.... nobody showed yet and I am wasting a day of vacation to wait for hot water I paid for. The cabin was left to us filthy, the sofa is worn out to the point if you sit in it you need help getting out. This is the first time for us renting a cabin here and It is a big disappointment. I stayed for a girls getaway last week with 2 of my best friends and their children. We stayed in two different cabins, which were side by side. The convenience of being able to make a reservation where we could be next to each other was great! However, there were some negative things at the campground that definitely put a damper on the trip. The waterpark was one of the main features that sold us on reserving this specific resort, but last week, the waterpark was open only on Friday and was closed the rest of the week due to lifeguards calling out. The inside kids area was also closed. As for the campground, the feral cat problem is ridiculous. Every night was a literal cat fight alongside our cabin, along with the leftovers from whatever they decided to munch on (we had a lovely decapitated frog waiting for us), as well as the cat poop. It was gross, and it made it hard for the kids to fully enjoy our camping site. The inside of the cabin was interesting. The kitchen cabinets had mostly broken shelving, which made our storage for the week quite challenging. A tub stopper was not provided, so baths for small children weren't possible until I made a trip to a local hardware store for a stopper. Also, do not opt for the linen package when you make your reservation. We were under the impression that sheets and towels would be provided for the week with an upcharge, however we were told such a package really didn't exist. They were able to gather together a few towels for the 8 of us for the week... Some pros from the trip: The pool was nice and so was the lake (however, both are self-supervision -- had a lifeguard been necessary, they would have closed those too) Both were super clean and not overcrowded. So on February 25th 2021 I rented a cabin for my family and I and my 2 dogs for August 8th-12th. This campground is out of our price range however it offered a water park. I splurged with the idea that the water park would be opening and functional. This was not the case. I received an email that the WP would be closed for the majority of our stay. I called Thousand Trails and I was denied a refund. I then asked for a 10% discount which I received. Even with the discount it was not worth the money. We arrived on Sunday and on Monday we went to the WP. It was open on and off throughout the day. Not all the slides were open. The purpose of coming to this particular campground was to enjoy the amenities. Instead, my 3 year old stood outside the WP gate and cried. For 2 days. I understand that staffing was an issue. I was told that the camp lost its contract with the Lifeguard company that they use. If I wanted to stay at a cabin with just a pool I would have went somewhere else. This not the experience I was expecting. The last issue I have is with the cabin. It was DISGUSTING! I don't expect a 4 Star hotel but the cabin had mold and dirt EVERYWHERE. There must have been a flood and the cabin had water damage. None of the repairs were made after the flood. There was mold on the wood around the door in the bedroom. There was water damage to the fixtures all over the cabin. I took pictures for future reference. I will be leaving reviews on other websites. Overall , I would NOT recommend Lake and Shore. I'm a simple person and didn't expect much but this was the worst vacation I've ever been on. The amount of money that we paid did not align with the experience we received. We stayed here with 3 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs. We had a great time! They have a nice big lake with tons of Bluegills ready to be caught! Lake or pool swimming, fishing, boating, small waterpark, small arcade, snack bar, small trading post, basketball court and a baseball field. Most of the people were really friendly. I really enjoyed the fishing. Lots of big Bluegills 8.5 inches and bigger. My friend caught a largemouth bass. Not too far from Sea Isle for those looking for a beach. This is a Thousand Trails campground, the first we have bee.n to that we liked. We will definitely be back!!! read more

Been coming here befor I has a family.... Love the peace an tranquility... It's my home away from home.... 4 miles from the beach and campground offers a lake pool and watermark... Could use some upgrades ... With many things such as paddle boats, playground umbrellas.. Sports equipment miniature golf is beyond repair .and been line that for years could use some kind of kids club and it teem club like they use to ... And maybe some more pot licks pig roast? ...security needs improvement... .....have to say though......wanted to give 3 stars but I do love it here :) read more

Once again another great Year at Lake & Shore! There is much to do here all Season. It's well kept and the Staff here is Exceptionally hospitable we have always been greeted and treated with the utmost respect! It's such a pleasurable experience every time we come! The facilities at this campground are great. Nice mini golf area, pool and lake. There is a kids water park that was closed and from what I heard is rarely open. While the facilities are great the rest of the campground lacks. There are a few dumpsters but not enough for all the garbage. Expect to see/smell garbage sitting on the ground that doesn't fit in the dumpster. The camp sites are very small and are cramped, much smaller then the the other local campgrounds. There is a significant noise problem here at night. If you have kids or intend on sleeping then AVOID this place. Quiet hours start at 11:00 but are not enforced. People play loud music and yell as late as 4:00am. Not to mention a pavilion anyone can rent where the music can be heard 4 rows away. As other reviewers have said there is stray cat problem, expect cats to be walking through your campsite. This campground is very much below average but not horrible, however there are many other local campgrounds for cheaper that are cleaner and quieter. read more

Water park was closed and when asked about when it would be open the staff were rather rude. Showers in the bath house were gross. The arcade and play place for the kids were closed. False advertising if you ask me. Not worth the money at all. read more

part II CONTINUED.....We also were not members. After I made my reservations and called back after checking the website and bringing up this issue (to avoid a possible problem upon arrival) we were told it was a non-issue. When we checked in and first entered our cabin with list in hand and seeing all we were lacking I immediately called up to the front office. Only to be told this is indeed the correct cabin and that the listing on the internet is for cabins that were FOR SALE, and not rentals which contradicts everything their website said. Additionally she told us we are LUCKY because we shouldn't even have a reservation because we were not members. Warm welcome, huh? With all the inconsistencies the cabin we did stay in was still very nice was cramped for a family of 5. There were only a total of 4 pillows for the entire cabin. The bathroom was very tiny but when you stepped into the tub/shower it was raised higher then floor level so at 5'5" inches my head was almost touching the ceiling and it felt very cramped. Two taller members of our party were forced to shower at the public facilities because they were over 5'6" tall. No rug was provided and I would recommend bringing one. The public bathrooms were indeed in need of an update, as well as a cleaning. Webs and critters had clearly taken up residence there. We were near the storage shed which sheltered a large number of feral and homeless cats. The trash cans were undersized for our family and filled up the first day. Every dumpster was filled and overflowing at the time of our visit. Some of our "neighbors" bagged their trash and left it outside for what I assumed would be pick up. Only to discover the next day that the cats had tore the bags apart and trash was all over the place. At one point a cat managed to get inside our cabin and didn't want to leave even though there was no animals allowed. A maintenance man said it happens all the time. We were also told we could park 2/3 cars comfortably. We brought two and had to park one in front of the restrooms because there wasn't any space in our cabin. On the plus side we did find the cabin clean and comfortable although the beds do leave a lot to be desired. It was decorated nicely had an ample storage space. We did have dishes, silverware, dish soap and to my surprise a dishwasher. Lacking was a few larger serving pieces but I expected that and brought a lasagna pan from home. I also found the lake/beach area to be very pleasant. The addition of the lounge chairs since my last visit was a nice surprise although they are grabbed up quickly. Not so pleasant was the pile of human feces on the beach which I had a staff member clean up, or the tons of unattended children. As the day went on we found more and more intoxicated and rowdy adults on the beach using foul language to which there was no staff to keep things in check. No lifeguards are on duty and aside from the employees on golf carts in the actual camping areas finding an employee at the lake was a challenge. The pool area is the same way. Loud music, groups of people hogging up the cabanas, unattended running, screaming, and splashing children. Drunks jumping over chairs, yelling profanities, and diving into 5 feet were all things we witnessed firsthand. I was surprised at how out of control the area was at 4 in the afternoon with so many families present. I am not a prude by any means but felt offended by some of the things being yelled back and forth. One visibly drunk man kept pestering my 24 year old son and asking him if he could get him drugs. He was approached several times over the course of 2 days despite telling the guy I'm here with my family and don't do that. In my opinion it has the potential to be a very family friendly campground again like in the 2000's if they would increase staff presence and enforce a few rules. The public restrooms and arcade, as well as the miniature golf could use a complete overhaul. I also feel that the staff both internally and at the call center need to be better informed as well as the website updated. I should also mention this place now attracts a more "urban" clientele. If Spanish music offends you don't book here. Our time best spent was early mornings at the pool and lake before everyone became intoxicated and quiet time fishing from the pier. Surprisingly it was quiet at night. We went to bed at 9:30 each night. read more

we arrived june 30th from the start was awful spots are way to tight sewer hose had no caps had to use your rock and wood to hold it down the people beside us and behind us diagonal were horrible took our picnic table took over the whole back end of our area we couldn't be outside they were so loud our camper rocked because of their music called security went down to the office they said well it is a holiday weekend that's beside the point some people are there to relax & not party 24/7 the grounds are unkept the playground is overgrown with weeds and trash as the horse shoe pit my 3-year-old granddaughter couldn't even play over there they do not enforce quiet hour at all kids run rampant till 1-2 in the morning bath houses are totally disgusting my son had a cabin there that was a hundred times worse mold in the shower wasn't cleaned the bed was so decrepit they left 4 days early as well this place truly needs to get it together we've been to other Thousand Trails parks and this one is absolutely the worst read more

My husband's grandmother had a camper here every summer when he was growing up. So after she passed he bought a membership. So far we've only used it for day passes to swim but we've had nothing be fun times there. Hoping to camp there next year when we have the equipment to camp. read more

Spent a few days here with a girlfriend. Was enjoyable. Peaceful. Simple. Nothing extreme. My one concern is the ticks... The first night I pulled one off which seemed to be swollen after hanging out on me for a while... it was a deer tick (known to carry Lyme disease) SCARY!! My vacation was over and I drove to a shore house in Wildwood, NJ (Wednesday night). I took a shower and found a tick hanging out in my cuticle, stuck under that skin! AFTER my shower I found him! Another deer tick! I went straight to urgent care to retrieve some antibiotics to help prevent Lyme disease. Tonight (Friday) I am now home, after countless showers (even showered here) I am laying in bed next to my SO, I happened to feel a weird lumpy/bump. This is midnight.. I wake him up and freak out, turns out I pulled another tick off!! Now going to take another shower! I know it's not the parks fault, but just beware that in the course of being there for 3 days... I pulled off 3 ticks!! Just have someone check you ALL over during your trip and AFTER!! read more
