So this was the first time we stayed at the Paradise while on our annual family vacation to Wildwood. For over 25 my fiancee and her family has been going to Wildwood I joined the crew 13 years ago. We used to stay at a different place but we got very annoyed and upset with them last summer so this year we tried out Paradise and let me say it was absolutely amazing from check in to check out. The location is perfect. Literally right on the beach. All the staff were so friendly and professional always with smiles and paying attention to details. The rooms were very very clean. The amenities provided were plentiful the beds comfortable we had 2 bathrooms which is a huge plus and our room had a amazing king sized bed. The other room had 2 full/queen beds plus there is a sofa bed if needed. Absolutely plenty of room. The rooms were always made up when we left (one of the several reasons we got annoyed with the prior hotel). There is an elevator for the upper floor and they have luggage carts so you don't have to climb stairs while lugging bags. They have a little shop in front where you can purchase such as candy, chips, beach supplies and ice (sorry no ice machine). The pool is amazing. Very refreshing after a long day at the beach. Only bad thing is no floats allowed in the pool. There are 2 sun decks. One by the pool and one on the second floor that faces the ocean. Plenty of loungers and chairs as well as umbrellas. They also have 2 BBQ grills and tables to enjoy a meal outside. Also there is a beach volleyball court. I would say the only negative things are the no floats in the pool, no ice machine and no designated parking for handicapped people (I am a disabled veteran and police officer) other than those things which were really no biggie our stay was absolutely amazing and a great time was enjoyed by our entire family. It's my second year back to this location. It's beachfront, the parking spaces actually have enough space for each car, the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Most important, the rooms are clean. There's also an elevator so it doesn't matter which floor you're on when schlepping heavy luggage. They have a really nice size pool which is cleaned daily along with a decent amount of sun chairs available. Honestly the only knock is the 1960s outdated air conditioners which visually take up an obscene amount of space in the rooms but other than that the place is a great spot to stay for a few days in Wildwood. They have a covered first floor area for you to eat at night. In addition, a barbecue grill to make your own food. On the second-floor, there is more open area space to eat or hang out all while enjoying beachfront views. Paradise - In! read more

Came to Wildwood for a weekend getaway and stayed at Paradise Ocean Resort. It's a very old building that has been well maintained. We stayed in the Bora Bora room and had a blast! It's a corner room with a fantastic view. Feels like a small one bedroom apartment with two beds and a pull out sofa. There's a pool, a kitchenette with microwave, good sized refrigerator, sink and even two small electric burners. It's right on the beach and a pleasant walk to most restaurants. Our "neighbors" next door were a bit loud and rowdy. Thankfully management nipped that in the bud early so the rest of us family folk were able to enjoy some shut eye. Parking is tight. We will surely be back. Don't expect five star Bijou accommodations. If you're very picky bring your own pillows, blankets, towels and sheets. There's a laundry facility. Again, this is a super old building that's been updated. The A/C is crazy strong powerful. There are cool ceiling fans in each room. Think of it as luxury camping at the beach. read more

Well, I have to say that for the most part I enjoyed my weekend here and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. And I would probably come back here again. But the reason I give it three stars has to do partly with its name and the amenities or should I say the lack of amenities provided. LittleHotelier.com says this about the term "resort": Essentially, a resort is everything a hotel is with a little more and aims to provide a luxury stay. Resorts are known to be a destination in itself and typically, everything you need for a holiday can be found on the property from food, entertainment, shopping, spa and gym facilities, plus more. That having been said, I would think Paradise Ocean Resort should completely remove that word "resort" from their name. I say that for the following reasons and you will see some of that in the pictures I have attached. The room was nice and clean, but there was: * No phone * No Hair dryer * No iron * A pullout sofa but no end tables whatsoever so I used a chair to hold my drink when watching television. * No on-site dining of any kind (unless you cook it yourself.) So no breakfast cafe or dinner restaurant. In fact all dining had to be off-site and none of it was in walking distance. Which means you had to drive to a diner to have breakfast in the morning. And dinner in the evening. * There was a Mr. Coffee machine and some filters, but no complimentary coffee or creamer or sugar as you would typically find in any "resort". * There was sufficient parking, however the lines are painted so close to one another that there is a very strong likelihood of door dings as people get out of neighboring cars. I have never parked my car in a parking space so tight. Never! So I chose street parking instead. * Checkout is 10 AM, whereas most of the resorts I have ever stayed at have an 11 AM checkout. Again this is a wonderful place to stay, and I would stay there again, but it is no resort. The best description I would give it is an upscale motel. Which means the prices should be commensurate with upscale motel prices not resort prices. Just my humble opinion. read more

We booked our room last year in September for the same time this year and paid the required a deposit. I was just told by my doctor that I had to have an invasive surgery procedure and it is scheduled for the second week of July. I called and told them that I needed to cancel my reservation and asked them to keep my deposit for next year. The resort manager refused and charged me a 251.00, cancelation fee. The management here has no regard for people with unforeseen circumstances and is not willing to work with their customers. We will not be going back to an establishment that has no empathy for people. read more

I've been here 3 times. Beautiful hotel on the beach. Rooms have small kitchens with decent sized fridge. Very clean. In regards to pandemic, they've taken many precautions. You could smell the bleach as soon as you go into the room (made me feel so much more comfortable). Staff is very friendly. Only minor complaint is that parking is very narrow, but you'll find that at pretty much every hotel in the Crest. read more

We arrived here about 10pm during a pouring rainstorm and gale force winds. Checking in, to our pleasant surprise, the young man at the office upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite, on the first floor next to the office. Since it had not been booked, he said we may as well make use of it. This made unpacking the car in horrible weather so much easier on us 3 ladies. The interior is typical pastel, beachy decor. The suite was equipped with more than we could ask for. Beds were wonderfully comfortable. The property is located right on the beach, so convenient. We spent 2 nights at this quiet friendly motel. 2 adults and 2 kids and the room was barely adequate (size) for us. 1 king size bed and 1 queen pull out. Place is fairly clean, a bit outdated but enough if you are just planing on spending the night at it. On a rainy day it will be tough to spend more than a couple of hrs in the room. A/C works well, kitchenette is well equipped and the bathroom is clean with plenty of water pressure and hot water. A bit of smoke smell lingers around from smoking guests (even though non smoking room) Pool is heated, and clean. Staff is VERY, VERY friendly and accommodating. Quiet place, friendly service, the people at the front desk are very nice and friendly. Pool is open from 10am-8pm. Pros Air conditioning works really well.No rug, makes the room cleaner IMHO, fridge was fairly new, and clean. We got ocean view on the first floor room 102. Because is further from the pool I think is one of the most quiet rooms. Room comes with a kitchenette has coffee maker. A 2 disk cooktop and small sink, and a little microwave. Pool is heated and very clean. They have a kiddie pool and the main pool goes from 3 feet to 8 feet. Cons the bathroom is rather small. The room has bit of smoke smell. Cleaning service is like 5 out of 10, the rooms could use a little more insulation to regulate noise. In conclusion I would recommend the place especially if you are using it only to sleep and are going to spend most of the time outdoors read more

Great place. Been coming to Wildwood since I was a kid. That hotel is gone like so many. Replaced by condos. This hotel brought back sooo many memories. Room, (Jamaica) 1 bedroom, 2 double beds, pull out couch, full fridge, little cook top, microwave, coffee maker. Very clean. Ground level, poolside. A/C was pumping. Had to turn it on low. Lol Quiet family place right on the beach! I would definitely stay here again. Front desk, very friendly. Quick check in. We went down with seven families and rented seven rooms. All the rooms were updated and clean. The women who worked there were very friendly and accommodating, especially the woman who worked the front desk. However if you are traveling with teenagers this is not the place to stay. First, one of our boys was bouncing a basketball on the ground floor around 1:00 PM in the afternoon with no one around and was reprimanded by one of the male workers. Two of the kids were playing Frisbee again with no one around and were also reprimanded. The biggest reason why I would definitely not recommend this place is the owner was belligerent to both the kids and adults. Two of the boys were again playing Frisbee and it accidentally landed in the pool area (not in the pool) but the pool was closed. He then hopped the fence to retrieve the Frisbee and the male owner came out and spoke to all of us in an appalling manner (the words that were used were completely inappropriate). When one the fathers tried to apologize he was told "I don't' need your apology - that his son needs an ass kicking and is a "F" punk. He then proceeded to tell us that he will throw us all out of here." The in appropriate language continued. We were so shocked that we did not escalate the situation and did not feed into that behavior. Parents were always around and supervising so it was not like they were out of control. They actually were quite well behaved. We had such a nice time that we planned on coming back down in September. All seven families, but will certainly not be staying at the Paradise Ocean Beach Resort located on Denver Avenue in the Wild Wood Crest. They pride themselves with providing exceptional service and having a reputation for hospitality and having unparalleled customer service but that is not our experience. . read more

If there was a ZERO star review, I would've given them. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I called two months ago to book the 4th of July weekend to spend with my family. I spoke with Fred, I told him I need to book from Saturday till Monday, he said that I need to have a three night minimum; I agreed, he told me he would send me an email before getting off the phone(which never happened). I got the email much later after the call. He told me that he would charge me a first night's deposit and the rest will be collected when I check-in(which I had no problem with) I gave him my credit card info, later I checked my bank only to realize that he had charged me twice(I figured he took another night which I didn't mind). Turns out he SCREWED up my booking and booked me TWICE! He booked me for THURSDAY/FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY/MONDAY & SAT/SUN/MON. Then MIKE(Owner/Manager) calls me Thursday night and tells me that I was supposed to check-in earlier that day when I told him that I didn't book Thursday. I proceeded to inform him that I didn't make that booking, and that this is not my mistake. He refused to acknowledge that they have made a mistake on their end and continued to blame me for it. and I have NEVER SEEN A MANAGER/OWNER YELL TO THE CUSTOMER ON THE PHONE AND THREATENS TO CANCEL THEIR STAY. Fred made a mistake and I told mike that I have the receipt to the original stay till Monday and Mike said that "IT DOESN'T MATTER", I told him that we can't stay past Monday since we all have work the next day, yet he still wanted to charge me for TWO ADDITIONAL NIGHTS THAT I WASN'T GOING TO USE since I was going to be at work. I have never seen a Manager/Owner whatever you want to call it, yell at the customer, he yelled at my father/brother/myself; I was actually shocked & He charged me $269/night! Thank God I was able to contact another resort (which was much larger, better and I was able to get it for much cheaper) that happened to have a cancellation that very same Saturday morning, So I requested my refund and left. Extremely disrespectful, very rude and I just couldn't believe that he would continuously yell at me or anyone in my family. He refused to acknowledge that Fred had made a mistake and was adamant on blaming me for it. Please be careful when booking with them, I have never witnessed such rudeness, I was very disgusted by how he treated me and my family. Take the time and do your research...I know where I won't book next time I come to Wildwood. read more

Stayed there Fri. and Sat. nights. We stayed there a couple years ago in one of their ocean front rooms and I remember it being pretty nice - for Wildwood. This time we stayed in one of their set-back "ocean front" efficiency rooms and it was one step up from camping. Dingy, threadbare, furniture looked gray. Everything looked gray. I used towels to sit on. (nice towels) People were nice. Perhaps they'll start cleaning it up soon. Beds were just ok. Sheets basic. No hairdryer. Eh. Was only $135 per night. Good location right on the beach. Pool looked nice, but it was a little chilly and rainy. Because of some great places we went to for meals and drinks, the weekend wasn't a complete washout. read more

The spaces are extremely tight - only big enough for a compact car. Plus people park like idiots because it's so tight. Beware of door dings. 2. Needs updating - no iron, no hair dryer, no phone and slow wifi. Bathroom had a shower curtain rod encrusted with rust. Cmon, they cost less than $20 replace it. Sink was rusty as well. Had to pry the AC covers open in order to turn them on. Years of re-painting made them hard to open. Cheap towels/sheets/pillows. 3. Elks - went during Elks weekend and they were blasting music and drinking all night. Since they booked up half of the hotel, staff was not going to bother them. A very special thanks to Bruce, Mike, and Fred for the thoughtful gift upon arrival. Knowing my wife had just given birth to our third baby (and my wife had gone 9 months without her favorite martini =), we walked into our room to find a special note on the table and all the fixings for the perfect martini by the beach. My sisters and I have endless memories of summer vacations in Wildwood and five years ago, with a growing family of about 30 people, we returned to the tradition. We searched for the perfect place and tried a few before we discovered Paradise. This was our second year there and we have found our home. Bruce, Mike, Fred, and all have created a welcoming atmosphere of family and fun. My children and my sisters' children talk all year long about their last summer trip Wildwood and wait with excited anticipation for the next --just like we did when we were kids. Paradise is truly their home away from home ...right on the beach ...with family lunches and dinners hot off the grill ...and outdoor movie night for everyone to enjoy! We stayed for 3 nights. Very affordable place with great access to the beach. The staff was very friendly and even invited the family to have Father's day cake that they provided for all of the guests. I would stay here again. This place is not a Hilton by any means. The rooms were clean but not modern. There are no DVD players and only basic cable on very old small TV's. Grills are provided and cleaned daily. The pool was clean and well maintained. Awesome place to stay! The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant to talk to (Mike is awesome!!)! The rooms are clean and recently updated! Flat screen tvs, WiFi, stove top, full fridge, microwave, volley ball net, ceiling fans! There's an outdoor heated pool with a kiddy pool attached. The rooms are tiled and wood floor laminate. Most rooms seem to have some view of the ocean. There's free parking for one car per unit. I'd highly recommend staying here!! read more

We stayed at this resort after a night in a terrible hotel. We called the Paradise Resort and asked if they had any rooms available. Once we got there we explained the situation. The owner gave us a discounted room rate because he felt bad about the hotel we stayed at the night before. The room was super clean and was remolded a year ago. The beds were beyond comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Even the couch bed was comfortable. The staff were helpful and well mannered. The pool was perfect, even has a baby pool! That was a nice added extra. It's right on the beach so you don't have to pay for parking and go down. All in all. This place is perfect for families and what ever else. read more

Clean & affordable hotel on the Crest beach. Rooms were very basic. Loved the large fridge, but cable & wifi were not so great. Walls were very thin, we could hear every little noise from other rooms & outside. A few simple upgrades would definitely make it more modern & appealing, but would definitely stay here again for a quick Wildwood getaway. read more

We spent 5 nights at this hotel. It is a typical Wildwood motel. Our room had a living space, bathroom, and bedroom. It was very clean was perfect for a relaxing vacation. The bathroom is slightly outdated with older tile and colors. The water pressure in the shower is up and down. The bedroom also had a tv that had a 5" screen. The refrigerator was a nice perk although it took a while to cool our food and drinks. The pool and surrounding area was kept very clean. The sun deck was larger than than other hotels I have been at in Wildwood. The office staff was friendly despite a wide array of requests our group had. This hotel won't wow you but you will be satisfied with a clean and comfortable stay. read more

I don't think you want to stay here with your family..... If your coming to Wildwood Crest to party at the clubs and need a place to crash and don't care what the rooms look like then this is the place for you. The whole place looks like something from the 70s and may have not been thoroughly cleaned since. if you walk barefoot on the carpet your feet eventually turn black from the dirt. The linens are not changed out until you check out and house keeping barely does a once over (about 7 mins from the time they enter the room). They barely give you enough towels and don't bother asking for more they don't or pretend not to speak English. the efficiency is really not an efficiency unless you call a mini refrigerator, a toaster that toast on one side of the bread and the smallest microwave I've ever seen stacked on top of each other. There was only one sink in room 209 (the last unit I stayed in) and that was in the bathroom. I have stayed on the end unit also viewing the beach and that was the best part of that room "the view of the beach". it was even smaller than the other rooms and if you cook in your room everything will smell like your food because there are no walls. The bathroom on the end unit is tiny so make sure you change outside of the bathroom or in the tub. Forget about parking close to your room at night those spots are sure to be taken, you'll have to park down the street. I came to this place twice to give it a fair chance and both times I was more and more turned off. This place should really get one star but I'm feeling VERY generous. I don't want them to lose summer money in this economy but they really need to upgrade their image. I tried the place across the street and much happier with the accommodations. Good luck if you stay at the Paradise Inn and don't forget to bring your bug spray you may need it. read more

Just returned from 3 nights there. It was our first time there and it won't be our last! Had a renovated C efficiency room and it was worth every penny. Walked in to a very fresh smelling room with a huge granite countertop over cabinets and drawers that were immaculate. New non carpeted floor that was a faux wood look floor. Much better than carpet. Beds were fresh and comfortable. Towels plenty. Nice enclosed closet in bedroom and corner shelves with TV in bedroom behind door. Nice decor. Kitchen equipped with stone wear dishes and mugs. Had everything we needed. No blow dryer but I usually bring my own anyway. Great shower head with lots of hot water. 2 shelves in bathroom in addition to cabinet and very clean. They really fixed the problems of no storage space and no countertops in efficiency. Office staff very friendly and helpful. Covered BBQ area very clean and in great condition. Sun deck beautifully kept. We cooked on the grills and then ate up on the sundeck and hung out there all evening. Pool was perfect temperature and they even provided some relaxing floating tubes and noodles. Great family atmosphere. Parking spaces VERY tight for our minivan, beware. So happy to have a new place to go that we hated to leave! BRAVO to the three year new owners that really are doing a great job! read more

This place was old but clean, well located. STAY AWAY ANY TIME SURROUNDING ANY CONVENTION!!! Owners don't care about customers. Don't come here if you're looking for a good nights sleep! It can be VERY loud! My wife and I booked a 6 night trip after Labor Day to avoid crowds. The first 4 nights were quiet enough but on the 5th night Firemen and their families started coming in for an upcoming convention. Being a former Firefighter I didn't foresee a problem. The management allowed the hotel pool and barbecue/picnic area to become a drunken keg party until all hours of the night blaring music and all despite a 10:00 pm "quite time". We checked out on Friday which was when the convention was supposed to start. On mentioning the problem to the owner when checking out he replied that it wouldn't hurt his feelings if we didn't book during the convention the following year! We hadn't booked during a convention at all! Then he had the nerve to lie about having "warned" us when we made our booking on another review site. We never even spoke to the guy until checkout! read more

This hotel is a throwback to the 1950s in appearance with its pastel paint job and fake palm trees. It is ocean front. The front desk staff is very nice and helpful, as is the cleaning staff. The rooms are adequate and clean. The bathrooms are small but clean and functional. Our room is a two room suite (if you can call it that at a cheaper hotel) with a full kitchenette, two beds in the bedroom, and a pullout in the living area. The pool is very clean and large enough, but it's situated so that you can't view the ocean from the pool deck. That's a minus for me. My only real gripe about this hotel, though, is that, although they advertise the rooms as non-smoking, people smoke in their rooms and it comes in through the shared a/c ducts, and smoking is allowed outside everywhere. There are signs that say no smoking on the pool deck, but they are ignored and not enforced. It's very difficult to get away from smokers. My review would have been much better if, as other hotels are doing, they enforced a no-smoking-on-premises policy. But all in all, it's a decent hotel for the prices bad the place. read more
