Well, I have to say that for the most part I enjoyed my weekend here and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. And I would probably come back here again. But the reason I give it three stars has to do partly with its name and the amenities or should I say the lack of amenities provided. LittleHotelier.com says this about the term "resort": Essentially, a resort is everything a hotel is with a little more and aims to provide a luxury stay. Resorts are known to be a destination in itself and typically, everything you need for a holiday can be found on the property from food, entertainment, shopping, spa and gym facilities, plus more. That having been said, I would think Paradise Ocean Resort should completely remove that word "resort" from their name. I say that for the following reasons and you will see some of that in the pictures I have attached. The room was nice and clean, but there was: * No phone * No Hair dryer * No iron * A pullout sofa but no end tables whatsoever so I used a chair to hold my drink when watching television. * No on-site dining of any kind (unless you cook it yourself.) So no breakfast cafe or dinner restaurant. In fact all dining had to be off-site and none of it was in walking distance. Which means you had to drive to a diner to have breakfast in the morning. And dinner in the evening. * There was a Mr. Coffee machine and some filters, but no complimentary coffee or creamer or sugar as you would typically find in any "resort". * There was sufficient parking, however the lines are painted so close to one another that there is a very strong likelihood of door dings as people get out of neighboring cars. I have never parked my car in a parking space so tight. Never! So I chose street parking instead. * Checkout is 10 AM, whereas most of the resorts I have ever stayed at have an 11 AM checkout. Again this is a wonderful place to stay, and I would stay there again, but it is no resort. The best description I would give it is an upscale motel. Which means the prices should be commensurate with upscale motel prices not resort prices. Just my humble opinion.

I've been here 3 times. Beautiful hotel on the beach. Rooms have small kitchens with decent sized fridge. Very clean. In regards to pandemic, they've taken many precautions. You could smell the bleach as soon as you go into the room (made me feel so much more comfortable). Staff is very friendly. Only minor complaint is that parking is very narrow, but you'll find that at pretty much every hotel in the Crest.

We spent 2 nights at this quiet friendly motel. 2 adults and 2 kids and the room was barely adequate (size) for us. 1 king size bed and 1 queen pull out. Place is fairly clean, a bit outdated but enough if you are just planing on spending the night at it. On a rainy day it will be tough to spend more than a couple of hrs in the room. A/C works well, kitchenette is well equipped and the bathroom is clean with plenty of water pressure and hot water. A bit of smoke smell lingers around from smoking guests (even though non smoking room) Pool is heated, and clean. Staff is VERY, VERY friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend it.

Quiet place, friendly service, the people at the front desk are very nice and friendly. Pool is open from 10am-8pm. Pros Air conditioning works really well.No rug, makes the room cleaner IMHO, fridge was fairly new, and clean. We got ocean view on the first floor room 102. Because is further from the pool I think is one of the most quiet rooms. Room comes with a kitchenette has coffee maker. A 2 disk cooktop and small sink, and a little microwave. Pool is heated and very clean. They have a kiddie pool and the main pool goes from 3 feet to 8 feet. Cons the bathroom is rather small. The room has bit of smoke smell. Cleaning service is like 5 out of 10, the rooms could use a little more insulation to regulate noise. In conclusion I would recommend the place especially if you are using it only to sleep and are going to spend most of the time outdoors

    above and beyond...thanks again paradise!

A very special thanks to Bruce, Mike, and Fred for the thoughtful gift upon arrival. Knowing my wife had just given birth to our third baby (and my wife had gone 9 months without her favorite martini =), we walked into our room to find a special note on the table and all the fixings for the perfect martini by the beach. My sisters and I have endless memories of summer vacations in Wildwood and five years ago, with a growing family of about 30 people, we returned to the tradition. We searched for the perfect place and tried a few before we discovered Paradise. This was our second year there and we have found our home. Bruce, Mike, Fred, and all have created a welcoming atmosphere of family and fun. My children and my sisters' children talk all year long about their last summer trip Wildwood and wait with excited anticipation for the next --just like we did when we were kids. Paradise is truly their home away from home ...right on the beach ...with family lunches and dinners hot off the grill ...and outdoor movie night for everyone to enjoy! We look forward to many more memories in the years to come!

We decided on a whim to spend the night in Cape May (we were already in Atlantic City), and we managed to score a discounted room through Hotelstonight.com. Our room was bright and seemingly recently renovated. I love the suite effect (bedroom and bathroom away from the sitting area). They have a nice outdoor bar on the beach, but due to the insane wind, it was closed. Tropical Storm Debby was working her whorish way up the coast of New Jersey that weekend. We left the property for dinner, but we regretted it upon our return. The hotel restaurant (Coastal Blue) is beautiful! We enjoyed a night cap at the restaurant bar while we learned a bit about the history of the hotel from the bartenders. Check-out is at 10:00 AM. And they MEAN 10:00 AM. We were getting ourselves ready to go and at 10:00 AM on the dot, housekeeping walked in. We heard them before we saw them, and we said, "We need a minute". It was a little off-putting. We even had the "do not disturb" sign on the door. We did not hear a knock. At any rate, don't expect to linger for even a minute. We were worried they would charge us for the extra 10 minutes (they didn't). I can't help but wonder if it would have been a different scenario if we booked our stay through Icona directly. Hmmm... At any rate, clean hotel with good amenities and shuttle service for local jaunts.

We had a wedding here, not too sure I would recommend. The Bri is the wedding planner for the hotel. Good luck dealing with her. She is not ever nice. All the rooms are the same expect some have two entrances to the bathroom. It's really too bad because this place could be great if they just hire better workers. Phi is in charger food I think. It was greatest to deal with. He was super nice, very friendly, and fixed any problem you have.

I stayed at the Madison (Ocean Tower) and definitely recommend!…read more I'll start by mentioning the three things that prevented me from giving a five star review. First, the elevator was down while we were there which wasn't a huge deal for us but since we were on the 3rd floor it made me wonder about folks with disabilities or any kind of knee or back issue. I felt this was a new resort growing pain though and hope they can get this worked out. Second, and another growing pain likely, while the pool on day 1 was heated and amazing as was the hot tub, on day 2 the heater wasn't working and there essentially was no hot tub and the pool was much cooler, though still enjoyable. The final component is more of a structural design issue that won't change but I thought I'd mention. The sink is outside of the bathroom. There is no sink in the bathroom. This means you need to exit the bathroom to wash your hands. We dealt with it but it's a bit of a design flaw. Now onto all the good! First, when I called about an early check in they said that while they couldn't guarantee that, we were welcome to come and get a parking pass and our pool passes while we wait. I think that's a wonderful alternative! It was much appreciated! Then, when we got there our room was ready! An even nicer surprise since we were about 2 hours early to check in. The place is new with new furniture and new flooring in the rooms. We had an adorable retro-looking microwave and refrigerator in our room. We even had bath robes available. The room was also stocked with really great smelling (green tea and coconut) shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. The pool area is wonderful with a cute pink and white theme. The cabanas are rentals, which we didn't do, but they certainly looked lovely. At night there are fire tables available and the deck has beautiful lighting. There is a rooftop open longe area on the 4th floor. There is also a snack stand right on the pool deck and a restaurant connected to the patio. When staying at the Madison you have access to both pools (though since we were only there a weekend we didn't venture over to spend time at the Royal Tower pool, which is the old Royal Hawaiian pool, and is still in tact with the middle island and large hot tub area). There is a small gym on site (again, talking specifically about the Ocean Tower - not sure what's at the Royal Tower in this capacity). Checked it out but didn't use it. The tower sets up chairs and umbrellas on the beach in a first come first serve capacity but again, a great service. Makes you feel elite. And lastly, something we used a lot, was the free shuttle service. The shuttle service is unique (only one other hotel in the area does this) and will take you to and from the boardwalk, local restaurants or close attractions. Tom and Jack, the two drivers we had, were super friendly and accommodating. Overall, everyone was quite friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. It was clean and comfortable. While we mostly stay in condos when down there, I would definitely stay here again! In fact, I look forward to it! #MadisonMoments

I was happy to find that the starlux has their own parking lot with free and adequate parking. Check in was simple and straightforward. The lady at the front let us know that everything we see out was free to use. Beach towels, boogie boards, sand toys, bikes, kids helmets and complimentary tea and coffee. I only wish we had known this earlier because it would of saved us packing alot of things! We had room 304. To get to the floor there was an elevator and stairs inside as well as an outdoor circular stair case. The room itself was small. It consisted of two queen beds, a bathroom, dresser, mini fridge, microwave and desk. The whole front of the room was a glass window that does not open, overlooking the street, but not the water. The only window in the whole room was in the bathroom. They have an ac unit, but no ceiling fans. The room itself got pretty stuffy due to poor air circulation. I would suggest bringing a small fan. The bathroom was stocked with lots of towels, neutrogena soap and lotions as well as shampoo and conditioner. Everything was suprising clean. The oddest thing was the small wall that jutted out a few inches from the toilet, making it a tight squeeze. The hotel also has a decent sized pool with a hot tub. We did not use them but we had a nice view of them from our balcony. They also have a small game room and laundry facilities. All in all, I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Wildwood.

We booked a "cottage" which was not a one story stand alone structure as we thought a "cottage" is to be. We were given a room on the second floor requiring going up and down a lot of steps. My husband and I are in our sixties and he has great difficulty with steps. Also we were surprised to have no freezer in the refrigerator, no table nor chair. I had to go to the main hotel 2nd floor to get ice. Also there was no simple coffee maker which normally seems standard especially if breakfast isn't served until 8:00 a.m. I told 2 receptionists that perhaps "cottage" should be removed from their website and replaced with a more accurate description. Outside photos of this building might help too to prevent older people with mobility issues from booking in the "cottage". Both receptionists were kind and understanding. One offered to move us to the first floor of the "cottage " the next day, but my husband didn't want to leave his balcony view by then because the room was so small.

The staff is excellent and the management seemed to take my complaints seriously and offered to rectify my complaints which I do appreciate. Most businesses don't really care today. The rooms are well maintained for the most part but this visit was poor compared to other years. My screen had holes in it. Not the end of the world and I didn't even mention it until the end of my stay. Add that to a faulty fire alarm waking us all up Monday morning at 4:30 AM and according to the cop on the scene this has been an ongoing issue. Mgmt did explain to me they changed alarm companies- yet all the guests paid the price. Even more disturbing to me is that only about 10 people evacuated the premises. (Not the hotel's fault) I'm just sadly surprised that very few take their own personal safety seriously. In the on-site cafe there are residential portable air conditioning units being used because the cafe central air conditioning system is dysfunctional- plus I noticed burned out lights in the cafe. Another guest was complaining about the ice machine that was broken for several days. The cafe is run by a different group but the Reges has their name on it. They need to be more careful leasing that space. The quality of food in the cafe is slipping exponentially. My husband ordered a broccoli cheese omelette and was unable to detect either ingredient. The potatoes he got daily were cold. He requested onions and was told they don't have onions for potatoes. My first day I ordered eggs over easy and they were very mucous-like and raw- I couldn't eat them-I wasn't hungry any way. We tend to be forgiving about these things bcs it's an included perk. Ever hear that expression? "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth". Service at the cafe is severely declining. The server who took care of us for a few meals was a younger girl with dark hair and was absolutely miserable working there. She clearly hated her job. Our final day we endured an older overly tanned tall skinny blond "ish" server who has absolutely no business being in the service industry. She was extremely rude, impatient, seemed very annoyed we were there and kept ignoring my mom trying to order to go food- literally running away from our table- "I'm very busy". So you have ONE table at 7:30 AM and you are too busy to help a customer?! That's your ONLY JOB! She brought our juice to the table and we said "Thank You", she took our order to which we said "thank you"- -NO RESPONSE- no "you're welcome"- nothing but nasty attitude! I don't need this crap on my vacation. If you read my reviews you know I've been a server for decades-so I am more understanding than anyone- I put up with a lot more crap than I should- but I simply will not tolerate rudeness. This was the second time in my life I did not tip a waitress due to rudeness and I'm 56!! That's saying something. Additionally the beach was laden with trash. That is not the hotels fault- in good conscience I can no longer recommend my friends visiting here. The hotel called public works to rectify this. That's all well and good but too little too late for me with everything else. In the past, I had brought in a considerable amount of business to The Reges. My mom's friends, her sisters and their significant others, my good friend and her family visited numerous times, I had also brought my daughter and grand daughter last year. The Reges management offered to do something for me and they genuinely wanted me to give them a second try. I'm not looking for a free trip- I just wanted to be heard. Management heard me and responded to my message quickly and that's the only reason I am going with the 3rd star in my review. The Reges honored my wish to cxl my 2025 reservations and refund my entire deposit, (without a penalty of 25%) as that was my request. At this time I have no plans to return to The Reges. I have only a finite number of vacation days and the trip for me is nearly 3 1/2 hours to get to The Reges. I just can't chance another bad experience. Maybe someday I will feel differently.

Here is what needs to be fixed: The TV & Cable System: The hotel is surprisingly still using an old analog cable system instead of modern digital TV, which severely degrades the picture quality. Because of this, they don't even get standard local broadcast channels like ABC. It is a huge letdown when you want to watch a major event--like Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday night--and you are completely out of luck. The Wi-Fi Network: The current network list is cluttered and confusing (showing EC WiFi, EC Secure, EC Voice, etc.), and the speeds are incredibly slow at around 24.1 Mbps download. They need to simplify this into just one clear network for guests and one for staff. The Restaurant Voucher System: If you are here with a larger group, the breakfast voucher system is highly restrictive. It only covers one specific meal item (like pancakes). If you want a side of eggs or anything extra, like a side of cucumber, you have to pay out of pocket for it. The Elevators: The building has three elevators total, but only two of them are actually running, creating a regular bottleneck for guests trying to get up to their rooms. If they modernized the Wi-Fi and TV systems and fixed the third elevator, this would be a top-tier place to stay because the rooms themselves are very nice. As it stands, the outdated infrastructure holds it back.

First, a few areas that need improvement: - Air Conditioning: We had to set the thermostat to 60°F just to get it to kick on, and even then the room never reached that temperature. While we weren't aiming for an ice box, it would be nice if the thermostat worked reliably and reflected the actual room temperature. - Pull-Out Bed: The mattress in the living room's pull-out sofa is uncomfortable, with a bar underneath that makes sleeping difficult. To be fair, this issue isn't unique to this hotel. - Patio Furniture: The plastic outdoor chairs are quite uncomfortable and could benefit from an upgrade. A quick clean between guest visits wouldn't hurt either. One of our chairs was pretty dirty or old. - Parking: This was by far our biggest frustration. We couldn't access the covered parking garage with our sports car due to a steep decline, and designated surface spots were consistently unavailable. We often had to circle side streets looking for free parking. Even when we found a spot on site, spaces were extremely tight, and we were constantly worried about dings. It was also frustrating to commonly see guests taking up two spots with no intervention from hotel staff. Now, on to the positives: - The hotel was clean enough with a nicely upgraded kitchenette (though a Keurig would be a welcome touch) and a decent shower. - Beds were fine, but the pillows could stand to be replaced. - The oceanfront views are gorgeous. - The onsite restaurant is charming and the food is quite good with friendly staff. - The pool is good and features a cute little bridge. Additionally, there's a hot tub and rentable cabanas. - The hotel provides entertainment options like movie nights and music on the pool deck and there's even an arcade game room on the second floor. All things considered, I'd rate the stay at 3.5 stars if that were an option. It just doesn't quite reach four. To be clear, I wouldn't rule out staying here again, but I'll likely consider other options.
