First off you have to use their catering company, Early Katering, which I would rather chose my own caterer and I made the right choice. Food was ok, typical blah wedding food, nothing special but nothing terrible. Hank's is way better at catering. No real dressing room for the bride just an area with partitions but lots of windows so all your guests can look in. No place for the groomsmen to hang out either. The barn was extremely hot it seemed like the AC couldn't keep up. Also the ceremony space is on a slanted hill so your guests are sitting sideways. Also you can't bring in your own mixed cocktails or kegs for guest. They had to pay per beer and per glass of wine so not a fan of that. Overall it is a beautiful venue in a pretty setting but as far as pricing and other factors I listed I wouldn't pick it for myself. The wedding was very special because of what the couple meant to me and how they decorated the place; can't say the venue added to much to that.

Absolutely charming inn, the main part of which was built around 1750. It has been stunningly…read morerestored to its original log walls and heavy ceiling beams, fireplaces everywhere, and a rustic country setting. The Innkeepers are unfailingly kind and accommodating. So hospitable. Nice wrap-around porch well appointed with rocking chairs (which we enjoyed in only the sunrise hours as it is July and brutally hot and humid.) The B&B is fully air conditioned with individual settings for each guest room. We stayed in the Silk Room, which is enormous! In the antebellum era, silkworms were raised in there and fed harvested mulberry leaves. Modern amenities such as walk-in showers are blended well with the historic features so that there is no jarring sense of disconnect. Breakfast is served each morning by the Innkeepers and is a feast for the eye as well as the palate. Coffee, tea, and ice are available in the dining room 24 hours. There is a shared refrigerator and microwave for guests' convenience. The common parlors downstairs are tastefully furnished with good antique pieces. We loved our brief stay, the last two nights of a two-week honeymoon. Back again someday? Hope so!

She provided hand sanitizer and made sure we had everything we needed to keep everyone safe. I highly recommend this venue because we were allowed to make all the decisions for making the perfect wedding for my daughter and son in law, use the dance floor, have a cookie table, etc...It was very affordable with no hidden fees, very spacious and so beautiful. The rain prevented us from having the ceremony outside, but Diane and her crew quickly made the switch at the last minute and pulled it off in 15 minutes. She was so helpful throughout the entire process, always responded quickly by phone and email, had a spread sheet with all the information that we needed, gave us great suggestions, it was like having a personal wedding planner. She made sure everything went smoothly. She also has some decorations and drink dispensers which we used at no extra cost. They provided all the tables and very nice chairs, dance floor, bar, linens, plates, silverware, fire pit, changing area for bride and groom, clean bathrooms, and beautiful scenery for photos.

Absolutely fascinating history at these caverns! We're Civil War buffs and honestly did not know…read moreabout these caverns. It was amazing. Our tour guide (I forget her name - so sorry) was amazing. She was knowledgeable and mixed historical content with geological content. The fact that experts from The Smithsonian came here to collect the artifacts (both Native American and Civil War) and authenticate several signatures (I believe from further research I did and then saw at the site, they cataloged the signatures as well) gives this site authenticity. For anyone that is into history, just the thought that you are standing in a place where Native Americans were before Europeans came to this continent AS WELL AS where Civil War soldiers etched their name for future generations, this is a MUST SEE. Is it pricy? Sure. But I give grace there. These caverns have been owned by the same family (they are on the 10th & 11th generation) since the original Harrison family acquired the land in 1748 by a land grant from King George. This isn't a gov't owned site. And from what I have seen and read, this family is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the caves. That can't be cheap. And I will say, it's worth it for the history alone. That is what sets it apart from all the other caverns in the Shenandoah valley. Could the gift shop be better? Sure. If you have helpful suggestions for improvement, let them know. They are all incredibly friendly. Don't wait and just complain in a review, We will recommend a visit here to any and everyone who is in the area seeing the sites. In fact, this cave is still being explored and new rooms and spaces are being discovered. Our guide told us they are working on adding a new room to the tour. So do we anticipate we'll be back when in the area again? Absolutely!
