Not sure why this place rated so high unless it was just for the friendly and pleasant staff. I ordered 1/2 rack, my wife ordered the salmon, and my son ordered the chicken breast. They dropped off some dry corn bread took our drink order and came back in a few minutes with some very good wine. The Syrah was excellent. We waited for what seemed like a long time. (I will admit that we were hungry which may have distorted the time.). Our food arrived and I must say for the prices, this is just backyard BBQ. The first rack was dry. I did not say anything but our waitress came by and noticed how bad they were. She noticed how dark and dry they were and took them back for another rack. Those were just covered in more sauce. Again over done and dry. Not even close to a good clean bite without completely falling apart. The side of beans tasted like they came out of a can. Not much skill there. The salmon was even worse. (I am not just talking about the $28.00) It was dry,over cooked,and tasteless. My wife ate some and quit. When we received the bill we commented on the salmon and the waitress promptly took the bill back and took the salmon off. (It is unfortunate that this great staff is at the mercy of lousy food of which they cannot control.) The setting is a nice family oriented place. The wine is excellent but good wine,unless you drink a bottle, does not cover up substandard food. No stars for the food. 4 for the wine, 4 for the staff. 3 for the family setting. This place is all around - awesome! Our host for the wine tasting was the best!!!! Customer service was an A+ and he really was in tuned with what my group wanted. He asked a lot of questions on our wine preferences and what we wanted out of the wine tasting. He was so friendly and personable, it was my birthday and he definitely catered to that! He even addressed us by our first names, and there was 11 of us!!! This place even had a cute little shop and sold pickled jars of vegetables, salad dressings, and had a cute little deli that offered some cheese, crackers, and other foods. and the outside had an outside bbq!!! i was sad to say that they do not open until 4pm, and our wine tour was over by 3pm :( so i will definitely be coming back to try their bbq and some more wine!!! i love this place!!!!!!!!! read more

A group of friends and I (late 20's to mid 30s) visited LCW over the weekend as part of an engagement celebration. It was low key and mostly went fine until we began to leave and were walking to our cars. I'll back the story up a bit. My girlfriend had chosen to do the $10 tasting. Upon trying to close out, the lady who had originally been helping her and pouring her wine samples was busy helping others. That was not a big deal. My girlfriend wandered to a different area of the counter to close out and a guy in our group, who was purchasing two bottles for he and his wife, asked another LCW employee if one of his bottle purchases could cover my gf's tasting (tasting fee is waived with bottle purchase per usual wine tasting customs). Upon consulting another LCW employee, it was decided that that was okay - two LCW employees confirmed this (but not the lady who was originally helping my gf, who was helping others). The two bottles were purchased. Everyone was square and closed out. After lingering for probably 30 minutes, we all decided to leave. At this point we are walking toward our cars, when suddenly the lady who was originally helping my gf approached our group and both grabbed my girlfriend by the arm and placed her hand around my girlfriend's waist asking very accusingly "Did you pay for that!?" as if to suggest a "dine and dash" had taken place. My girlfriend calmly explained what had taken place inside (with the bottle purchasing) and others in our group vouched. The LCW lady accepted the explanation and we went on our way. I mainly wanted to share how disappointing it was that a LCW employee felt it was okay to touch (grab) a customer. We won't be visiting LCW again. read more

Can you spell OVERRATED? I've been drinking wine for decades and been to many many great wineries. Unfortunately this is not one of them. We tried 4 different varietals and none were anything to write home about. Very disappointed to say the least. read more

I was in Chelan for a weekend away with my husband. Swung by Lake Chelan Winery for a tasting. We walked in and were not greeted. There were about 10 total people tasting with 5 people working behind the counter. We stood there for nearly 15 minutes with no one even acknowledging our presence! I couldn't believe it. We walked around in attempts to get some assistance but again we were ignored. I suggested we buy a cider and my husband said he didn't want to spend his money there. We left feeling invisible and thoroughly disappointed!! Never again will we go there. I suggest to anyone that they go elsewhere. I suggest they step up their customer service to compete with other wineries who were far more friendly and welcoming. read more

Lake Chelan Winery BBQ! Just visited and all I can say is WOW! They sure have come a long way since the last time I was there which was about 2 years ago. The staff is so friendly and their food is to die for! I've never had better ribs, in my life!! It's an outdoor setting with grass for kids to run around and they have a fabulous live bad called The Lake Boys that plays every Friday night. Absolutely wonderful. Wines are decent, staff is knowledgeable, and the BBQ in the summer is wonderful! GREAT place to take the kids in the summer as there is lots of room for them to play on the hill right near the eating area. We are regulars and have only experienced a couple of service problems over the years (all corrected by the staff on the spot). This is the pioneer winery in the area and the family's dedication to continued good service and product is wonderful. read more

If I could do minus stars I would. Came here with 9 other ladies right after they opened at 4. Got our table, took photos, tried out the hula hoops, figured out our food and drink order and still no server. I walked over and asked the hostess if we could order our food. The young lady informed me that there was one waitress on-duty, she was right there and she would be over in a few minutes. I returned to the table and updated the group. After continuing to wait we finally decided to leave. On the way out one of the other ladies spoke with the same hostess. She let her know that they were missing out on a table of 10 and ask again they might be able to get us taken care of. The hostess informed my friend that we shouldn't have come in right when they open. What!? We sat for almost 15 minutes. That girl needs a new job. read more

I was beyond disappointed today when a member came in and the winery didn't have their bottles saved for them. The winery told the long time member they can't hold anything and they had to pick it up before they sold out of it. This winery has no respect for their members and oversells their wine. On top of that we were trying to have a grown up conversation with the enployees and one ran off to grab the manager saying "omg we have a situation they are out of control" and let me tell you, we were not even close. They went back and fourth from saying they were the second largest in the state to being a small local winery, taking sides as it came. DO NOT COME HERE, DO NOT MEMBER HERE. I PROMISE YOU CAN FIND WAY BETTER WINES WITH WINERIES THAT RESPECT THEIR MEMBERS. read more

A big shout out to the BBQ at Lake Chelan Winery - the food was amazing (burger vs. ribs and both were winners) but the best part for our large group of 17 was the staff. They treated us like we were family. I am giving 3 stars because the food was great, the ambience and setting was wonderful, but it took 1.5 hours before it,was served. I am the biggest complainer usually...but Kelsey was so apologetic and acknowledged all of our concerns and comped a couple of desserts and wine ...THAT made a big difference...The group says the best part of the experience was Kelsey and her management of the situation. Maybe a new system for the unexpected larger groups. A lot of the items were not available. It took 16 years for us to finally give the place a try...I would be willing to give it another chance. The place was absolutely packed. I started with a FREE wine tasting and went to the cheese counter. Between my family and I we ordered 9 different unique and delicious cheeses. I completed my tasting with the Cab which tasted amazing and pared very well with their barbecue outside. I highly recommend this winery. I will be back. read more

While I would expect a winery in a touristy area like Chelan to be pricey, this one is downright expensive and doesn't make up for it with service or quality. I went here on a weeknight with a large group. We'd had reservations for weeks and they moved us from the covered patio to a sloped table on the lawn at the last moment. We had been seated for over an hour before the server took our orders, and when he did he insisted on taking drink orders first. That would be great, except we hadn't been given any drink menus. He quickly disappeared, flitting back a couple of times, before another server finally brought the menus. We had all of 30 seconds to consult them before he returned and took our orders. After another very long wait, our food started arriving in small groups spaced widely apart. My burger was delivered lukewarm, soggy, and with the wrong side. When I asked for the side I ordered, the server took my whole plate and disappeared. I think he must have taken it for a long, romantic walk on the beach, because he returned carrying it 5 minutes later to confirm my order. My table had to yell "LEAVE THE BURGER!" to prevent him from running off with my food yet again. The server never refilled our table cornbread and plunked down the bottles of wine ordered by our table utterly without gusto. They get 2 stars instead of one because my husband's ribs were tasty if also lukewarm, and my burger would have been delicious if it hadn't been cold, soggy, and slow. The food was pricey at $15-35/plate and the wine started around $9/glass. I really don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Came for a wine tasting on 7/12/16 and Missi helped us. She was awesome! So sweet and chatty and informative. We bought a few bottles and drank one there. We also ordered a cheese plate and the macaroni, which was like molten lava when it was served to us but delicious once it had time to solidify. This place was really cute and the wine was delicious. Okay....so sorry, we'll seat you now. They took our order and it never came. We spent over two hours waiting for dinner. Had to leave starving. This place needs a new system. The BBQ was recommended to us by a neighboring rental tenant in Manson. Location is great and the place is pretty. That's about it. Kids menu is pathetic. Two items. That forces you to order for them off the adult menu and the cost begins to rise. Service initially good, but then the wait drags on until you get your order 35 minutes later. C'mon, it's BBQ. Food when it arrived was a huge disappointment. $32 for a bland rack of baby back ribs and a poor excuse for a caesar salad was not good value. Sodas are delivered in cans. Plastic plates. What more can I say? Hugely unimpressed. read more

Disappointed in our experience with our dinner on 8/24/15. We took our big group of 24 to celebrate a 90th Birthday. We were seated and waited for a very long long time to put our order in for drinks and then a lot longer to order dinner. The dinner was fair. The bill was $600 with automatic tip added.
