Super little place. I arrived about 30 minutes before they opened and was confused because the front door was open but the lights were off, with Christian music playing. The worker in back welcomed me in, told me I could help myself to the coffee until they opened at 7, and even offered a sample of several pastries set out nearby. It was a breakfast cafe, but I had come only looking for a mocha and a cinnamon roll . . . Ohh my! I chose the sticky bun with nuts and have to say - I haven't had anything that amazing since my momma cooked some homemade 40 years ago!!! They had a wide variety of bags of day old that I ended up taking home, too! This place has amazing ambience, lots of little "isms" all over the walls for decorations, and the locals fill the chairs before they open also. Awesome little place! read more

Lake City is a restaurant with a bakery counter inside. On the day of my visit it was packed. I just walked up to the counter and said I wanted 6 donuts and let me tell you, UH- MAZING! So soft and delicious. The people at the counter were just the sweetest. I found that it's best to park around the corner and walk the short distance to the shop. Also try to be quick as it gets packed inside on a weekend and there is not a lot a room to wait or walk around. It's a cozy place. The prices were reasonable as well. read more

Seriously great. Family run business with the husband (a 3rd generation scratch baker) in the kitchen and wife and kids in the front. Everything was good - the beef and barley soup was outstanding. Cute little bakery and food spot found in Yelp. Super friendly family owned for 53 years parking is a little difficult but stays busy constantly as we sat and ate breakfast. Breads are baked here and the doughnuts seem to sell out here. I wish I could give this place 10 stars! We were visiting Polson for the first time and had been searching for a breakfast spot all day on Yelp but couldn't find exactly what we hoping for. Stopped at this restaurant on a whim because there was parking right in front. OMG it was exactly what we were hoping to find ! Giant portions, the food was quick and popping hot, smothered in gravy! They even have flavored coffee creamers! Booths right by the window for some people watching on the street. The service was wonderful and so kind! We forgot to ask for ketchup and she somehow still knew to bring it. Everything was salty enough so I did have to keep using the salt shaker. This place is amazing. I literally kept wondering if I was dreaming because it was exactly the breakfast spot we were hoping to find. AND they have donuts!! I can't wait to come back!! read more

As we were driving to Polson to spend the day everyone was hungry and ready for a good breakfast, so searched Yelp and found the Lake City Bakery. As we entered saw they were busy with only 1 server and so you have to seat yourself. Since only 1 server also had a little wait to get menus and then to order. However although our server was very busy she was friendly. Unfortunately the downside was unable to get refills on our coffee during our meal. We ordered the huckleberry pancakes, the ham scramble and the chicken fried steak. When the pancakes arrived they did not appear to have any huckleberry's in them so double checked with the waitress to ensure we got the right order. She apologized said the huckleberry's sink to the bottom of the batter sometimes and so she would have the kitchen remake them. While we appreciated her doing this unfortunately when the 2nd plate arrived the pancakes had very few huckleberry's in them so they were disappointing. The ham scramble was very plain, just eggs with a few cubes of ham. As for the chicken fried steak the breading was not good and the gravy was not very tasty. Not sure if maybe a new cook or just a bad day. So although I will not be back for breakfast I may stop by to pickup some donuts as they looked good. read more

Our first time here and for sure will be back. So many items your eyes just get big and want one of each. We ordered donuts and egg bacon, cheese croissant. Donuts were great! Croissant was ok. Cinnamon rolls looked amazing and will be something we come back for. Think we might also try this spot for lunch/snack. Make sure you get there early as sometimes they sale out we were told. Very cozy place and very friendly. Be prepared for a wait as it's a very popular destination. The wait is well worth it as the food and service is A+. I've eaten chicken fried steak all over the US and by far this rates in the upper levels. It pulls in close to my all time favorite and upon 1 more review it may take the lead. We are in a group and sat outside and ordered pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and of course the famous chicken fried steak. No masks, no gloves, glass salt and pepper shakers that are filthy, bus girl brings us straws after clearing tables without cleaning her hands plus the straws were not wrapped in paper protection. All I can say is go try the donuts.... I cannot say honestly that they are the best but they are pretty great for the small area! Ask them to put bacon on your maple bar and they will easily accommodate you! We went here early one morning and that is the best time to go since everything is uber fresh! The apple caramel pull apart donut that is as big as a plate is amazing! We shared it with 6 people. I'm so glad because I would have eaten the whole thing. The staff is so nice and easy going. We arrived about a minute before closing and they were so nice and let us in. We never felt rushed at all and you would never have known they were closed if the sign on the door wasn't flipped. We ordered sandwiches and a couple slices of huckleberry pie. The food is really delicious and homemade. It reminds me of something you'd get visiting your grandma :) pie was excellent as well.
