Broken equipment, messy weight room upstairs... difficult to find pairs of weights because they are always scattered about. The mats are all worn out and falling apart. There's only ONE set of each dumbbells downstairs so if there are more than a few people using them, you have to wait for the weight you need. Broken machines for weeks/months on end.... Not what I expect for the price I'm paying... fix it please UVAC!

The staff are very kind and helpful and the gym is always clean. I was unmotivated and felt like there was no way I could ever join a gym because I didn't have the time to actually go. Because of how pleasant my experience has been and because of the fact that they have childcare, I have been able to really commit to showing up. Their classes are incredible and have given me the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and try so many new things. I'm so grateful for UVAC, they've really made a difference in my life!

At 10 years old, my son has truly benefitted from the structured environment that promotes focus, respect, and personal growth. Sensei Rick's teaching has provided a positive space for my son to build his skills. Sensei Rick is excellent at connecting with children, offering individualized attention to ensure every student feels supported and valued. He goes above and beyond by offering thoughtful touches, such as water breaks and helping students with tasks like tying their belts. His ability to remember each child's name and engage with them individually shows his genuine care and commitment. One of the things that sets Sensei Rick apart is how he spotlights his students. For example, the children once sang "Happy Birthday" to a fellow student, creating a positive, community-oriented environment. There's also a wall of achievement where Sensei Rick recognizes students for their accomplishments, whether it's awards, certificates, or milestones. It's so nice to see my son's name proudly displayed on the wall next to his Best Friend's President's Award for Educational Excellence--something that truly brings a sense of pride. Sensei Rick brings students to the front of the class to congratulate them, which fosters a sense of pride and accomplishment. The dojo is well-maintained, clean, and has ample parking, with comfortable seating for families to observe. The children have developed strong, supportive friendships, and the positive, respectful environment at the dojo has had a wonderful impact on my son. It's a place where kids can thrive and feel encouraged. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity and proud to have found this dojo through the resources provided by our school. We value this dojo so much that we've been paying out of pocket for the summer sessions. Despite the 30-minute drive one way, my son looks forward to every class, and I can see the positive impact it's had on his focus and determination. The life lessons Sensei Rick shares at the start of each session have been beneficial for my son's overall growth. Thanks to Sensei Rick's dedication, my son has ninja-like reflexes and enjoys practicing karate at home. He is committed to earning his black belt, and I'm excited to see his continued progress. Thank You for building this rink in lakeport!!!!!!! Gorgeous new smooth surface (do be aware that this is a small rink). Kept clean. They have skee ball (and an adorable little arcade space). I dislike the pvc pipe contraptions kids like to use to "learn" to skate here. They create dangerous conditions on the skate floor during open skate and I'm not convinced they really help people learn the balance points. Fewer of these, limiting their use to 30 minutes a person, only offering them for the first hour of a skate session or something, would be awesome. Some rinks use/offer these, some don't. This rink does. The skate fee is a bit high for folks who skate for athletics but seems right for recreation (ten bucks... this quickly becomes cost prohibitive for training volume visits but makes for a nice date night/family night). The staff here is rad. I've gotten consistent friendly treatment (from different folks over 3-4 spaced out visits). They hand out free skate passes when appropriate (a counter person missed the skates I brought once and accidentally charged a skates fee... was happy to hand me a pass. That's hospitality!) They "Up ticketed" me a few tickets so I could take home a plastic horse as my skee ball trophy. These are the kind of "nice perks" attitudes that keep people coming back. This seems like a fun place to work!

One month later, we did another jump at NorCal and expressed our desire to continue. Tyler & Jim explained the process of getting licensed and by then we knew there was no turning back. We started our AFF classes because we knew skydiving was something we wanted to keep doing... and we wanted to get licensed to jump alone. Tyler and everyone at NorCal Skydiving have been absolutely incredible. From day one, they've been supportive, motivational, and genuinely encouraging. Safety is clearly a top priority, and the team is always honest, fair, and professional while still making the entire experience fun and empowering. This is the kind of place that makes you believe in yourself and pushes you--safely and responsibly--to do things you never thought you could. I truly cannot recommend NorCal Skydiving enough. We spent the day at NorCal Skydiving yesterday celebrating my mom's 85th birthday -- yes, her 85th…read more(and not even her first jump -- she also went at 80!). About a dozen of us jumped together, while other friends and family came along to cheer us on. It was truly one of the best family outings ever. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun, and the entire staff made the day unforgettable. From start to finish, every instructor and team member was not only highly professional and experienced, but also welcoming, funny, and able to put even the most nervous among us completely at ease. They took the time to check in with each of us about our comfort levels and gave us the choice to either soar gently like a bird or try out some more daring stunts -- always safe, but always exciting. I want to give a special shout-out to Tyler, my instructor, who made my first jump feel natural, safe, and completely exhilarating. Also to Jim, who wasn't working that day but hung out with us, shared amazing stories, and made us feel like part of the NorCal Skydiving family. What a pleasure to meet him! I honestly didn't know what to expect and thought I'd be terrified once I was up in the plane, but instead my fears disappeared and I was able to embrace the entire experience. The mix of freedom, serenity, and sheer accomplishment is something I'll never forget. If you've ever thought about skydiving, do it -- and do it here. NorCal Skydiving gave us one of the best days of our lives. I can't recommend them highly enough and I will definitely be back.
