The showers take a special token...get them at the token machine ... main entry and also at the group campground. The lake is remarkable. It's popular so it can get busy at the swim area. The bridge is very cool to walk across and see, and as a bonus there is a small little beach area along the river that our dogs very much enjoyed. Some parts of shaded in some parts of expose, so just know that if you are planning to walk this trail in the middle of a hot summer day.

My friend and I had so much fun walking around Blackbird Island (Waterfront Park)! It's such a…read morebeautiful little park with amazing views and a river running through it. We learned that the main loop trail there is about 1.9 miles round-trip. As you cross the bridge onto the island, trails crisscross through a peaceful, natural area with interpretive signs, and you get to hear birds calling and see fish jumping in the water. Fun fact: Blackbird Island was formed from silt left by the old Lamb-Davis Lumber Mill, making it part of the reclaimed land that now hosts this lovely park. It's a great place to stretch your legs, get fresh air, enjoy nature, and just take in the views. I highly recommend stopping here if you're in Leavenworth!

Now with Covid and summer plans being cancelled we figured we'd do something fun as a family and finally go camping since my boys have been begging to go camping for awhile. I checked multiple Pinterest pages on the must-haves for camping, bought a tent from Costco ( even made sure to practice setting it up and taking it down before our trip), got our fishing license and bought some fishing gear for the kids oh and let me not forget my kids were ok with sleeping bags but I also invested in a wait mattress for myself because sleeping on the ground just sounds painful. Pros- -So like I said the camp ground was gorgeous, we had the most amazing view our entire time here. - it was off the beaten path and not too packed. - the campgrounds were kept up and extremely clean. - there was also a roped off area for beginning swimmers. - they offered showers ( though make sure you bring quarters) - designated trash areas as well, and like I said these grounds were really kept up so there was really no trash on the floors. Cons- - bathrooms... ok I probably sound like a snob but the last time I went camping it seemed bathrooms were just a little more enjoyable. Here they literally have unisex stalls with a toilet. And it wasn't just any toilet but more so like a well or a outhouse with peoples pee and poop just festering in it all day til it's cleaned out... so gross and no sink in the bathroom or soap. Thankfully I read up and brought some hand soap - it's extremely windy... like we just moved back to Washington a year ago from Georgia so I felt we definitely had some ptsd from the winds ripping through the campground the last night... all night. It sounded like tornado winds. I couldn't sleep and our last night I really thought our tent would fall down before the night was over. - the lake though beautiful it was ice cold! Make sure to bring life vest because even in the summer heat eastern Washington provides this lake can freeze even a seasoned swimmer - but i think the worst part was the walk! So I haven't went camping since Highschool and I just remember us parking at the campsite and unloading... well that's not the case here. Now they do provide carts for your stuff however you have to park half a mile away and then walk and walk some more. It's hot, windy and for first time campers here it's not well directed of where to walk to for the campsite. However, once you get to the campsite the numbers are marked on the fence. Also, just note to self if this is your first time camping pick a campsite with a smaller number- you'll walk less. This is a fun day trip but I don't think I'd come back to camp.

This would've been a 5 star review except one huge issue that could cause hospitalization and…read morelawsuits: The shower water temperature situation in the bathrooms. There is a sign on the door that says no hot water. That's fine, whatever, tent campers get cold showers while paying for full hookups like we did so we could have electricity but we get cold showers because we are sleeping in tents. But this was not the issue. The issue is that the hot water is turned on sometimes... and there is no warning and no way to regulate the temp that comes out of the shower head. For whatever reason the faucet, while turning left and right - effects nothing. Now, if the water coming out was a nice warm 105 to 110 degrees that would be fine. But this was so hot it burned my daughters head and she only had it under the shower for the time it took to turn the water on, scream and move away. So, I went and got my meat thermometer and tested it. 167 degrees Fahrenheit. I highly doubt the legal department at PUD is aware of the water temperature streaming out of that shower head. One more thing about that water. We were told they turned on the hot water because the water for one of the RV'ers wasn't working. What? I'm confused on this tidbit. We also bought an RV space. Why the plain discrimination against tenters who are paying full rates? Why not warm water for all? But please, before that, fix the temperature problem first. If my daughter had been 2 instead of 21 her skin would have blistered and there would've been a hospital trip. Other than the hot water issue the campground is very nice, windy like a tropical storm, but beautiful. Be aware, camping has recently changed to reservation only.

Great local park. Only problem is parking in the summer. There is a relatively small parking area…read morethat is great most of the year. But once the summer visitors roll in, it fills quickly and people park along the highway, and up into the neighborhoods. Locals are okay with that for the most part, but cut them a break and don't block driveways, block off the road, etc. You know what I mean! Nice access to the lake and a nice area for swimming. Lots of trees, so lots of places to picnic. Restrooms are available. And there's a sand-court volleyball setup. Refreshments are just a block away, so no concerns about not having enough water. Operated and maintained by Chelan County PUD, which does an excellent job keeping the park looking good.

If you're visiting Leavenworth, don't skip this--this is the kind of experience that stays with you…read morelong after the trip ends. We visited Enchantment Park during Thanksgiving week, just one day after a beautiful snowfall, and it truly felt like stepping into a winter postcard. We parked in the main lot where there are clean restrooms, a playground, a skateboard park, and even a designated sledding hill -- perfect for families and outdoor lovers alike. Everything was easy to access and well maintained. From there, we hiked the 2 mile scenic trail that winds along the banks of the Wenatchee River. The snow-dusted trees and river views were absolutely breathtaking. We crossed over to Blackbird Island, which is a fantastic spot for photos -- especially with fresh snow on the ground. The walking paths connecting from Commercial Street make the park incredibly convenient to access right from downtown. It was an exhilarating, refreshing, and healthy hike -- the perfect way to spend a crisp late-November day.
