My piano repair man recommended Phoenix Feather and while it was farther than I was currently driving, I tried it because the school has been open for so many years. The group lesson is amazing! Both of my kids were so much more engaged in a group lesson, they see other kids' triumphs and struggles and they want to keep up with course. Ms. K is really energetic and engaging with the kids. It is a rigorous class but Ms. K has SO MANY TOOLS on her website to help your student thru any difficulty. The parent does not need to be a piano player for your child to succeed in this class. I'm forever grateful for this program.

K for 4.5 years (so close to finishing the program, but alas, they decided to pursue other areas of music a couple of years ago). We loved this program so much and Mz. K's incrediby effective teaching style! We knew from the get-go that our children would likely not become classical pianists, but we wanted to instill in them an appreciation of music and an understanding of how to read music. The group keyboarding lessons are perfect for that, and they are also a great foundation for more serious students as well. Mz. K has been teaching for over 30 years and has built a time-tested program that works! Mz. We found Jennie from hearing my daughter's classmate play piano. The classmate played so well for…read moresuch a young kid, and my husband asked the kid's mom how long he's been playing. Hubby was shocked to learn he'd only been at it for a year. So of course we asked for the piano teacher's information. Jennie has been a wonderful experience for my daughter, now one of her students for 4 years. Her teaching style is flexible, and she offers in-person lessons at her own home, but has also given my daughters lessons remotely via Zoom as needed/requested. My daughter is also incentive-motivated and Jennie learns her students well enough to have little stickers or stationery of favorite designs/characters ready as rewards for milestones achieved. In addition to just playing pieces, the musical education also extends to music theory, and there are annual Certificate of Merit exams with MTAC (Music Teachers' Association of America), as well as biannual recitals, so students get the benefit of performance and "official" testing/accreditation. On a personal level, it's clear that Jennie has the patience of a saint because my sensitive kid has never had a complaint, even on weeks she knows she didn't invest the time into her practice at home.
