Natural Falls State Park is located in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma, 6 miles from the border with Arkansas. If you're coming to Natural Falls for barbecuing, picnicking, short hiking, lounging around and camping...then this park is for you. I was scrolling through Google Maps and discovered a photo that looked intriguing. It was a picture of a 77 foot plunging waterfall among a scenic backdrop known as Ozark Springs. This Ozark Springs waterfall is the #1 top highlight at the park. The rest of the activities (I believe) are side compliments. So...if you're passing through West Siloam Springs, it could be worthwhile to check out Ozark Springs, and it doesn't take long to do. The trails map says 45 minutes, but it can be finished in less. The walk to the falls is half a mile at the most. You can find Ozark Springs along the Dripping Springs Trail. There are two parts to capturing views. First is from an overlook point high above. After completing this lookout spot, then it's 47 steps down to the bottom. The base of Ozark Falls has a boardwalk pathway leading you in front of the waterfall. I was tempted to step off the boardwalk to avoid the hand railing when taking pictures, but that wasn't not allowed. Also unfortunately, they don't permit swimming in the pool that Ozark Falls splashes into. But the waters appeared refreshing. You can connect Dripping Springs Trail with Ghost Coon Trail to combine two hikes in one. Or otherwise you can return to the Dripping Springs Trailhead and either choose another pathway or hang out, have lunch and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. There are a few other trails you can consider, but they're nothing dramatic. - Fox Den Trail - 1.5 miles to a "rock overhang and cavern area". - Bear Trail - hardly a hike but leads to Ozark Springs and intersects with Dripping Springs Trail. - Pine Ridge Trail - 3/4th's of a mile that navigates the perimeter of Natural Falls Park. It's $10 entrance fee for a day pass. You can pay at the Visitor Center. Plus inside the VC, you can purchase souvenirs from a small selection of items or buy snacks and drinks if you haven't arrived prepared. I noticed they have a lot of space for camping. Although I didn't spend a night here, the conditions for sleeping outdoors looked inviting. Btw...while walking along Ghost Coon Trail, I passed by these Yurts, or I'd describe them as huts accommodative for "glamping" or glorified camping. It's like upscale camping staying in tent - cabins. There may have been 5 - 6 yurts located beside the grass edge of the forest and pleasant looking for enjoying the great outdoors. Overall, Natural Falls State Park has a quiet setting and is fine for taking a few hours to breathe in fresh air, especially if you're in no hurry. Although I wanted more challenging hiking trails and activities to keep me occupied, I was okay with taking a lazy day to appreciate nature. read more

While in the area, we looked at the map & found this state park for a quick day adventure. $10 parking fee. Clear paths to follow, great sites, informative signs posted throughout. Being able to view the waterfall at different levels & also able to follow the stream was so neat. There are a few steep hills, although the main path would suit most. read more

Beautiful nature!! Healing this is amazing place for getting away from city. Recharge after city chaos

I cannot believe this park is so close to Tulsa (about 45 minutes) and I had never been! It is so beautiful and worth the drive. It is close to the Oklahoma/Arkansas border in the scenic Ozark Highlands region. It features a stunning 77-foot waterfall cascading through rock formations and creating a hidden, serene atmosphere at the bottom of a narrow V-shaped valley. It is the perfect place to relax and cool off. There is a railed observation platform that overlooks the falls and another observation deck with seating at the foot of the falls. There are 4 and half miles of hiking and nature trails, volleyball and basketball courts, catch and release fishing, playgrounds, a nine-hole disc golf course and a formal garden area. If you want to make it an overnight trip, the park has five yurts, which sleeps 4-6 people and includes a queen bed, futon, microwave, fridge, ac/heat, electrical outlets, and even coffee makers! You can reserve a yurt, RV and tent sites online. Shower, restroom and portable lavatories are located next to the yurts. Outside the yurts, there are picnic tables, charcoal barbecue grills, fire rings, and decks. Pets are welcome for an additional fee. read more

This park is a little bit of a secret. It seems when I mention it, there's few people who know where I'm talking about, which is nuts since it so close to Tulsa. After a summer in the brutal Palm Springs heat, and then a pretty low key winter, my wife and I were pretty stoked to get out and about this summer and a day trip to Natural Falls seemed like a good way to kick off summer adventures. We got to the park around 1130, and with a recent storm, all the moisture made it a pretty humid day. BUT.... with all the rain, the fall was running really good. The first thing I noticed is that some of the trials are handicap accessible, and that means those trails are EASY. That's cool because it opens the door for people who wouldn't normally have a chance to get out and see natural like this. The fall is incredible! An easy "hike" and the payoff is rad. After we shot some photos of the fall, we just kind of explored around. There's definitely places in the park that make you feel like you're in the legit backcountry when in reality you're just off the "beaten path." The park is well maintained, scenic, and totally convenient to get to. All that on top of being a great place for novice hikers while also having scenery to keep the attention of more experienced hikers. We didn't stay in any of the Yurts, but that is definitely on our "to-do" list, hopefully I the fall (the leaves changing here would probably be totally epic). So there ya have it. If you want a quick hit, away from town, Natural Falls is your best bet. #getoutdoors read more

Our pandemic Thanksgiving could not have been better thanks to Natural Falls State Park, its staff, camp hosts, beautiful waterfalls, cozy yurts, mooing cows, and steaming hot showers! Yes yurts! For $100/night - including golf cart privileges - you can stay in one of the five yurts at this park. A great option for colder weather visits (yurts have both AC and heat, microwaves, fridges, and sleeping spaces for up to 6 people)- especially for RV-less folks like myself;P...and even for people with RVs/Campers, this is a one of a kind, extra special experience worth every penny! Arriving late at night, we could hear the waterfall near our yurt but didn't realize until morning that we were just a bridge's walk away from it's beauty. I woke at sunrise to a very frosty, Thanksgiving morning and walked - to the sound of birds, rushing water, and the crunch of frost beneath my feet - to the falls alone. This was something so sacred and special to me. I savored every second...and this is coming from a non-morning person - high on the drug of NATURE and it's beguiling, mystical, WONDER. I was taken aback by the beauty of this place feeling like I didn't belong in such a perfect frame and unable to capture how stunning it is in photos. I stood in awe of the steam rising into the air above a landscape of wild ferns and lush vegetation. I felt like I was in a fantasy/fairy world or a dream - unable to comprehend how I could have the good fortune to be in this place - full of awe - all by myself - while others slept. I thought of the original inhabitants of this land and wondered if I might be feeling very much the same as they did when viewing these falls many many years ago. This Thanksgiving, this stay alone gave me PLENTY to be grateful for!! I will certainly keep this park in mind for future visits and very much recommend it to friends and family on and off of yelp! read more

Word to the wise. The park itself was beautiful. The trails were easily manageable and beautiful. However, it took almost an hour to simply pay for parking because of the older lady behind the desk. First, she took about 5 minutes to come out of the back. It appeared she may have been eating though it was mid-morning. And then it took another 45 minutes to do the parking pass because she insisted on informing us about her past heart attack and her husband's disabilities. Needless to say, we did not risk returning for souvenirs after our hike. read more

Very much worth a stop. Beautiful view with little effort required (maximum of 0.5 mile hike if you take the full loop, which is not necessary to view the falls). There are views from above and below the falls. read more

This is a fantastic park in NEOK and offers a good variety of activities for the casual visitors or a more experienced outdoorsman. There are a good handful of trails to explore and are well labeled and planned out. I would like to note two things. 1.) It's worth it to go up to the swinging bridge and enjoy the view as well as going down to the bottom of the falls and over to the small lake. 2.) This park was notably well maintained and litter free. I would certainly recommend this park to anyone who wants to walk trails for the day or enjoy the campground for the weekend. read more

Beautiful location to bring an RV. Nice facilities, great play area for kids. The falls are gorgeous (but the climb to/from the viewing area may be too rough for older folks and is definitely not handicapped accessible). The park is just a few miles from the Arkansas border with access to shopping and dining. read more

Well maintained state park! The dripping springs waterfall is a must see! The walk to the top platform of the waterfall is easy . The 45 steps and incline to the lower level was moderate as there are few hand rails! The parking fees are in effect here. There is a small visitor center at the entrance and the staff is very friendly and Camping is available as well as Yurts for rent! Two large playgrounds and plenty of hiking trails. read more

Came here last Saturday and it was great! Perfect hike to the falls from the parking lot for our family with small children (1 year old strapped in a hiking carrier and 4 year old). Not sure how long, but around 1/2 mile round trip probably. Certain parts down are a little steep, but clear path and stairs. Beautiful overlooking ledge and great sitting area down by the falls. Then we walked over to the lake, some steep parts on that path, so make sure to watch where you are going. Also, poison ivy (or oak, forget which one) is along the path, so don't touch it! Only $5 to enter the park. The entrance has a little gift shop, restrooms, information, and inside area for parties. The state park has other trails, but we did not go to them. The map showed at least 5 other ones. If we had more time I'd explore some more! read more

This state park is just a short drive east of Tulsa and a hidden gem! And when I mean hidden, it really is as there are no signs off the highway telling you to exit. For a mere $5 (or free if you're a veteran), park your vehicle and wander the trails around the lush grounds. The falls are gorgeous and probably offer some of the cleanest, clearest water in all of Oklahoma. The trails offer ample exploring, and are great for a variety of folks. My four year old son loved throwing rocks into the creek and hunting for fossils (there are so many if you look hard enough). This is a great day trip from Tulsa and the perfect way to get outside and enjoy nature! read more

We just stopped in to see the falls and it was fully worth the stop. A short walk down and it's a beautiful view!

This is a awesome park. Lots of trails - lots of challenging trails with a 1076 feet climb. I almost passed out from dehydration. but it was lots of fun. The falls were pretty and there were benches so you could enjoy the view and rest up. We also went on the Lake Trail which was the most strenuous. Then, silly me, I had to do the falls again. That's when I almost passed out. I had left my husband behind so I was by myself with Oreo. I lay on a bench to recuperate! There is a visitor center at the beginning of the park with restrooms and drinks. Dogs are welcome. The falls trail is not a good trail for small children. However there are flat trails over by the visitors center and a playground. Picnic area and outdoor games are available as well. I will definitely be back! read more

I drove almost an hour and a half here from Tulsa and while it wasn't as good as I had hoped, I did enjoy my trip to this park. It was $5 to park my car for the day. There are picnic areas and BBQ grills as well as disc golf and a playground for the kids. The waterfalls were beautiful and so was the entire environment. I was really hoping the kids and I could play in the falls but we weren't allowed to go into the water. It is a moderately difficult hike so it's not good for young kids bc it is steep and very easy to fall off the ledge down the mountain and get hurt or killed. Do not even think about bringing a wagon or stroller bc it isn't happening with the thin trails and the constant climbing over rocks and through the trees and plants. Definitely a lot of fun for those who enjoy more advanced hiking and exploring the woods. read more

Natural Falls is a beautiful park. As you walk down the path & steps towards the overlook you can feel the difference in temperature. You also see the plants and trees are more lush and dense as you walk along the path. You can hear the waterfall the closer you get to the overlook. And then comes the surprise, you look down onto a beautiful pool of water that the waterfall is splashing into. It's so pretty! But you'll be drawn down along another path to the bottom of the waterfall where there's beautiful rocks that overhang the pool of turquoise blue water. We saw several fuzzy white caterpillars crawling around and some pretty big spiders hanging around. The flat portions of paved walkways have handrails and the bridges, both are easy to maneuver. TIP: The trail down to the bottom of the waterfall has no handrails. Even though our auntie is not officially handicap she gets a little wobbly on stairs and the trail to the bottom of the waterfall was difficult for her. She had to hold onto us for that extra support like a handrail provides. read more

What a beautiful park and the RV spots were really nice too. You could just walk down to the falls which is where they filmed Where The Red Fern Grows. There are also some other trails to walk which was nice. Our RV campground was secluded and within the state park. I never knew there pretty places like this in Oklahoma. Beautiful. read more

We camped out for one (COLD) night in February as a couple. Campgrounds include a fire pit with a grate to grill on and a stone picnic table. The tent sites are a little more out in the open than the wooded RV sites. There are a few fun trails, but all are pretty short. They range in their difficulty (ADA-compliant to steep and stony), but all have nice views. The Falls make a pretty centerpiece for the park. Playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, and other amenities would make NFSP a good option for, say, a family reunion. Will likely camp again! Enjoyed our stay. read more

The falls here are gorgeous, even if you miss out on the beauty of the sun shining on them (we did, sadly). I'm sure it's even prettier on a sunny day but our early Spring visit was cloudy and still well worth the stop. With all due respect to other reviewers, as a moderately experienced hiker I must say that the trails here are definitely quite short and NOT at all challenging to anyone who does any amount of actual hiking. Just keeping it real and I mean no offense to anyone who felt otherwise! These are extremely short trails that would be rated very easy in most parks and I think the warning signs posted are more to keep people from coming onto them with medical problems or trying to traverse the area via wheelchair and/or stroller. It is a nice place though! I enjoyed the visit. read more

We drove down from Grove to see the falls. It was worth the hour plus drive! Very reasonable parking- i think it was $4? We brought in a picnic lunch and ate after the short hike to see the falls and lake. My husband thought it was a little harder than I did, but we got to see a beautiful site! It was a lot of fun! The lady that helped us at the visitors center was so nice! We're really glad we went! :) read more

I've been here twice now. Both times there was only one other tent camper. The tent camping area has the spots a little too close together and not quite secluded enough for my taste. If there were more campers around I think it would have felt too crowded. The whole area is well maintained with a variety of activity options. The trails are clean and well marked with a variety of different difficulty levels. The maps provided were accurate and helpful. The disc golf course was challenging and fun. The baskets aren't the best but it is clearly marked and well maintained with good signage at the tee boxes. The park is located pretty close to the highway which is good for a quick trip down from Tulsa but at night you can hear a lot of traffic noise. Kind of takes away from the camping vibe. The camp hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. The park ranger was very rude and unfriendly during our one encounter with him. Glad I didn't see him the second time we stayed here. read more

Great trip! $5.00 for a day of hiking and fun with the family, so worth it! We dipped our feet into the cool water, so refreshing. Trails are easy enough for a 9yr old. There are 5 trails to choose from, and all are pretty easy. Loved it, we will be back for sure. read more
