Interesting and interactive. Even my three year old enjoyed this educational visit. You can make this a quick stop and tour in 30 minutes or stay for a bit. read more

The Lake Jackson Historical Museum serves its purpose well. I learned a lot about the city's history and felt some nostalgia for post-war America. Their displays were extensive for a small city. Their displays even go as far back as the American Indian tribe that used to roam the area. When you walk in, a friendly lady greets you and orients you to the museum. It was a really nice touch. Admission is free but donations are welcome. The Lake Jackson Historical Museum is located in downtown Lake Jackson, down the street from the Library and near a Texas Gulf Bank. read more

Very nice little museum that is proud of this city's history! We came here with two kids (4 and 5), so we're really glad to see a small airplane, flight simulator next to the working old airport beaker, two animated talking "robots" and some kids activities. By the way, at the moment they are turning the gift shop into kids zone (!!!!!) so please come check it out starting July 2016 and don't forget to leave a small donation if you like it. Yea, this museum is free! read more

This is genuinely a great place to come with small kids! It is a small museum run by wonderful volunteers with lots of information and even a flight simulator for the kids to play in. Overall, it took us just under an hour to go around the whole museum (two floors) and there was also a scavenger hunt that kept the kids on their toes! The admission is free and there is tons of parking there! I would suggest bringing a water bottle and good walking shoes. read more

Came here with my grandmother to spend some quality time. We ended up being the only two there for the hour and a half we spent. My favorites included: the Native American displays, the housing/community displays, the airplane simulator, and the movie theater. The staff was very friendly. Overall, it was very informative and the establishment itself was clean. I recommend anyone to stop by and visit at least once especially since addmission is free! read more

The Brazosport Museum of Natural Science is located inside a complex that houses two performing art…read moretheaters, a small gallery of local artists' work, an art league work room, and the museum. There is also a planetarium! The complex is part of the college, but is set far from the main college area and has its own parking. At first the museum really scared me by its 1970's look, but it's actually quite good for its size. It has a huge shell collection, as well as some minerals and other things mentioned on its website. Some of the displays had some great information on them. There is a weaver bird nest with information and graphics on how the nest is built step by step. There is a display of Texas shells along with models of what the organisms look like when they are alive and inhabiting the shells. There is a small dark room in the back that has minerals with a timed display of UV light showing their fluorescent properties. There is a display of regular colored shells and their albino counterparts. Once I got past the very old feel to the place, I was impressed. Overall, I think the museum is worth the trip from Houston. We visited this museum and Sea Center Texas in the same day. Both are free and really interesting and educational.

So far we have only gotten the cheese pizza and the cheese breadsticks but they have been good for what they are. There are quite a few games although most of the time, one is not working or functioning correctly, but they are always quick to fix the machine. This location does look a bit outdated in the inside compared to the other Chuck E Cheeses we have been to, but it's not bad. The plus side of this being that this location also gives more (virtual) tickets when it comes to games than the other locations. My 9 year old really enjoys this place, so we will keep on going.
