Lake Margaret is so beautiful and serene. It is the perfect setting after a 2.4 mile hike. The lake is calm and soothing; it makes you want to sit there for hours. Great for swimming. The hike, however, was harder than expected. My hiking book said it was "easy" but I found it to be at least "moderate" - hiking uphill and downhill through rocks and granite, over fallen trees, and across logs over streams. In the steep rocky parts the trail was not that easily defined. Lucky for everyone, someone (maybe some Boy Scouts?) marked the trail with rock art to make it easier to follow. Bug repellent is a MUST! Warning: Hiking with a baby on your back can get hard towards the end of the hike when you're approaching the lake. You're literally rock climbing. If you have a stroller, there's no way it can make it all the way to the lake. The end result - Lake Margaret - is sooooo worth the trek.

A lot of rocks, granite hills, and technical trail. The scenery is very striking. I am glad to have done it but will stick with some other favorite hikes in the future. If you are looking for a spot to swim in the summer, it is great.....but you will work for it!

This trail is pretty good but parts of the trail are covered in puddles. Remember to bring insect repellent. As an Eagle Scout, i brought along the 10 things you need most which includes a pocket knife, first aid kit, map, compass, etc. (to name a few). This hike is not as simple because you could get lost from the trail. Remember to look for rock formations (rock art) and red ribbon attached to trees so you know the direction to go. Luckily I researched online that the trail would go along the creek. Remember to bring lots of water and snacks because this hike isn't as "easy" as the online research states. This 2.5 hour hike still has uphill and downhills against rocks so be prepared for any slipping as well so durable shoes is helpful.

She was our captain and kept us on the best course for an awesome experience. OMG, we all had so much fun, got wet laughed, dipped in the calm water, then wooshed around the rapids, repeatedly. The trip was from Boca to Floriston with class I-III rapids. They also have a photographer who captured just about everything. I highly recommend this company. We will definitely do this again. We made reservations for 1:15 and got there at 12:30. We checked in and pretty soon we had more people show up. A young man, his name is Adam, started us off by handing out life jackets and helmets. Adam then told us how to put them on and telling us a little about the rafting. We then headed down to the River and he then started telling us about safety issues. At the end he started separating everyone into groups of 4 and 6. Since it was just my neighbor and I we were very lucky to get not just Adam, as our guide, but his girlfriend Reese(who is also a guide) and Reese's sister. It was a prefect day, no wind, it was hot and all I wanted to do was jump in. We started out, got a little ways down and we were able to jump in. Water was cold but felt really good. I went to get back in and the 2 girls knew exactly what they were doing just hoisted me in. Very impressive. We went down some really good rapids and Adam was very good on directing us on when to paddle and when to stop paddling. At one of the rapids we stopped at the bottom to wait for the rest of the boats in our group to make sure everyone got thru safely. One boat turn on its side and everyone fell out except the guide. Adam had already told us what to do if something like this should happen. So my neighbor and I put out our oars and pulled one person close to the boat and hoisted her in. We felt like pros! We had a really good time. Everyone was so friendly. My neighbor and I are already planning another trip! Sorry I don't have any pictures. I couldn't take my phone with me. There was a photographer there and he was on the shore at different places. At the end you could pictures if you would like

The group can only access this beach with the shuttle & tour group so make sure to read everything in the email. The clear kayaking is done at Sand Harbor which was absolutely gorgeous. All of the guides we met and interacted with were super cool, nice, and helpful. Using a clear kayak is particularly cool when you go over rocks and boulders in the lake. The kayaking was not too strenuous and I would definitely recommend for beginners like myself. It is a bit more pricey to do the clear kayak tours as opposed to renting a regular kayak so it's something to consider, but by doing the tour I got to see a part of the lake I had never been to (and is a bit harder to get to) and also got instructions and tips for kayaking. We thought the tour would go a little farther/longer too but it was still cool. Kayaks are available as singles or doubles with weight limits so be sure to take that into account when booking. It was late July when we went so the weather was nice and warm. We wore swim shorts and dry fit shirts with UV protection. Our legs got a little wet from water splashing off the paddle but it felt great. They do lend you dry bags to use if you have any items you want to keep on you while kayaking. I did use the dry bag for my sunscreen, water bottle, wallet/fanny pack. They also said we could leave belongings in their life jacket van at the beach, which some people chose to do. I would recommend packing light though. I am glad we booked this adventure. I think after going with a tour group now I feel more confident to rent a kayak and head out without a tour next time I visit Tahoe.

They made me feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way, turning what could have been just another outing into an unforgettable 49th memory. Emma not only climbed rocks to ensure my photo was one of a kind she treated us (my friend Candace & I) like she'd known us for years! The combination of gliding through the water in a clear kayak and capturing that moment with a fun, creative twist is something I'll cherish forever. Audrey (the…read moreguide who's raft I stayed on), Dustin (the Team Leader), Mcclure, and Roman will forever get my praise for how they exceeded my expectations. This was my first time going both whitewater rafting and camping, and the entire time I felt taken care of, safe, and catered to in ways I hadn't even expected. I don't know how many times I shouted "Team Audrey!" as she expertly navigated difficult rapids. Roman was the guide responsible for riding ahead of us with all our cargo and setting up camp, and every time I was more and more impressed with the breathtaking set up he did with all of our tents, eating areas, and shaded spots. Dustin was a worthy team leader who made sure our trip went smoothly and on time, and was awesome to talk to and joke around with. And McClure was a thorough teacher and guide who is clearly passionate about what he does! I've noticed some reviews of people complaining about things out of Tributary's control like the bathroom quality or the heat or the other parties that would camp nearby. And even though that is technically not Tributary's juriscdiction, I still felt as if the four guides with us did everything they could to anticipate these problems and lessen their impact on our trip. Like they had a handwashing station for us, and had plenty of shaded areas for us to rest in. Not to mention they really took care of the quality of food we ate, giving gluten free and healthy options as well as snacks and drinks for us. Audrey, Dustin, Roman, and Mcclure. You four have a forever client in me. It is because of you guys I have such memorable stories that I will be telling until I am old. I can not thank you guys enough.

We were promised a 3 PM departure, but after endless delays and runarounds, we didn't get on the boat until almost 7 PM. Their rep was unresponsive, even telling us to stop calling because he was at Six Flags with his family. We wasted money on Ubers due to being sent to multiple incorrect pick-up locations, including an Airbnb they rent out and a dock they weren't authorized to use (which staff confirmed, mentioning they know they aren't allowed to pick up at Connolly Beach). Once aboard, the grill was broken, leaving us with raw seafood, steaks, burgers, and hotdogs. The boat's power failed, stranding us in the dark for an hour. The captain didn't introduce himself, apologize or provide safety instructions. There was no reason given and promised to upgrade us due to the "inconvenience". We were finally dropped off in a random residential area with no directions on how to get back to town. Tahoe Yacht Charters refused to reimburse any of our additional expenses. This company's lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction is appalling. Do yourself a favor and choose another charter service or be prepared for the runaround (get everything in writing).
