Thank you so much Tahoe Whitewater Tours for the best memorable first experience ever for 1) giving us a full refund for 2 members of our group that had to cancel 48 hours before 2) making an exception to our Bachelorette Party group to all be in 1 boat 3) taking amazing photos of us and driving us safely. (Shout out to Chris for being awesome on that!) 4) pairing us with Joey AKA Seaweed, the best guide ever- he was so clear in directions, made the 3 hour ride so enjoyable by getting to know us, enabling us to get to know him, and giving us great recommendations/tips! We loved it and would come back for more advanced classes!!

Just went rafting with Tahoe Whitewater today !!! What an amazing experience. We had an absolute blast!!! Chris was our safety guide and photographer from his kayak. Adam did our safety briefing which fun and we learned so much ! Diesel was our rafting guide and man I gotta say an absolutely fun character... he left us laughing all the way and had so much knowledge about local area. I learned so much about my home area that I didn't know. He shared his story and how he became a rafting guide and what is required. The river was low at 500 fps, but that was perfect for our group of four aged 58 to 62. Super easy float that anyone can do... and even if you are a non-swimmer. This company is very safe and very professional. We will be back with them next spring to run from Verdi to Mayberry Park. Can't wait !!! Chris was also helpful with my questions on my interest in getting started in inflatable kayaking and gave me great advice. Solid, positive fun loving crew who also care about the river environment! Go!!! You know won't be disappointed!

Super amazing river guide and fun and friendly staff. Emily, our river guide, made us feel safe while teaching us about the river and most importantly made our trip so much fun.

    Whoa baby!!! Turn!

Wonderful service, great guides, super location! My family highly recommends Tahoe Whitewater. I'm 68 with a new knee and a new shoulder and Ivan our team leader placed our family with Brice. All the guides were amazing, we got to see close up Ivan, Skler, Sage, Diesel &Willow and they were like magicians on the Whitewater. But, thank you! Thank you!!! Ivan for placing this old guy with Brice. Our ride down the river was like riding in a Lexus but we were in a raft. Brice trained us well on how and to paddle to help him out but with his steering thru out the course we really didn't need to work that hard at all, it was amazing! If you're on the fence on whether or not you can handle Whitewater rafting, take it from this old guy, you have to go to Tahoe Whitewater, you will truly be in good hands!

I highly recommend this crew for your rafting excursion. They are fun, competent and did I say fun? Which is exactly what you want in the boat with you! The other tours are only available on Spring and/or has different meeting place. One is at Pilot Hill , another in Lotus, CA, etc.If you are SLT local, pay attention to that bit of information upon purchasing because they are a bit of a drive. Online waiver is convenient. You can bring a water bottle if you can hook it in your life vest, otherwise you can leave it in the bus to retrieve later. They have a camera guy for your pictures for purchase. For the tour that meets in Truckee RV Park, they have a shower stall in the bathroom and a deli right next door. Huzzah!

Ivan cooling off the easy way.

We did a two day south fork trip, with a stop for the night on the river bank. Our guide Cryin' Bryan(just kidding Brian!!) and bonus gear guy Gator, were absolutely amazing. The were kind, helpful, had the best stories and cooked the best food. We did 21 miles of river over two days and it was unbelievable. Things we learned on this trip... -Gator taught me how to make a camping mocha(more like chocolate coffee when I made it!) with instant cocoa mix, coffee, creamer and water. -A tortilla wrap with PB&J and trail mix is the thing of dreams. -The front right seat of the raft is the 'hot' seat(or wet seat) and you will get hammered repeatedly. Haha. -Camping on the side of the river is magic. Pure. Magic. -Hospital bar has its name for a reason. -Composting toilets in the woods smell like a gerbil cage. -Brian's love of Star Wars and pineapple fried rice lead me to believe we could be real life friends. -You can make lifelong friends out of strangers you meet on a rafting trip. The meals they provided were amazing. Well beyond normal camping fare. For sure a perk with the trip. With things like chicken salad pitas, pancakes, sandwich wraps and fajitas, we were never hungry. We upgraded to the canvas tent they have at the campground for the first night and it was wonderful. The little front porch and getting to hear the river while we slept was magic. The newly upgraded bathrooms were probably the nicest I've seen at a rustic camp ground. The shower stalls are outside, but each one has a locking door with the shower stall and a little changing area with hooks and a bench(and the rain shower heads were great, but know the water pressure isn't the hardest, but not the worst either). When the 'Boss Man' picked us up from the river on the last day, it was really neat to get to chat with him. He asked for anything we think would add to the trip, and the only thing we can think of would be to bring along a yard game for the overnight trips, like ladder-ball or something for on the river. But there is absolutely nothing we would change. Enjoy my million pictures. I really couldn't pick and choose what to show, so I showed it all! We can't wait to go back!!

I really appreciated they had a page linked after you book of all the things to know before the trip. Getting ready was smooth, and the guide was helpful on the way with paddling instructions and questions. We dropped into the water at two points and also got to switch seats so everyone tried being at the front. The water is extremely cold. There are two photo spots where they took pictures you can purchase. Lastly the bus to get back went great, but they kind of left us alone right after we got back to camp, even though we had some questions and were going to leave a tip (we left our wallets in the cars).

One of their staff came out to help and assured us they didn't think it would be a big deal. It happened again, and we had to get towed back. It took 10 minutes to get ahold of the "emergency line". When we got back to the dock, we circled around for 30 minutes and we were well ahead of our 4 hours. They didn't want to offer any sort of refund and when my husband pushed for one, they said "if it's going to hurt the holiday, we can try to do 10 percent." They had their information completely wrong and then called us to come back after we had left because they had accidentally refunded the whole thing. We could have just let them deal with their mistake but we came back and they still messed up the refund. They were also were ok with letting the next group go on a boat that clearly has safety issues.

I had the pleasure of rafting the Futaleufu River with them in January 2024 and they far exceeded my expectations. The Fu River was as challenging as I imagined but the flotilla of guides who accompanied us each day made the river experience far safer and more memorable. The rafting guides and safety crew outnumbered the guests, partly because the hosts/founders, Lorenzo & Terry, welcome experienced guides to participate. Everyone of them have 10+ years of Class V river experience and loads of fun stories from their adventures. But what really sets Bio Bio apart is the camp experience. I am use to camping on the side of the river on these types of trips and wasn't sure what a base camp experience would be, with the extra shuttling involved, but I was blown away by it. They have an equally large staff in camp, including chefs working in a gourmet kitchen, a brewmaster making their Fu Brew, 2 yoga & massage therapists, a coffee barista, and on and on. As an added touch, each tent has an assigned "tent captain" who will bring coffee or tea to your tent each morning and look after all your needs throughout the experience. Then there are the fun days rafting in Duckies and a day of horseback riding to ensure we got to enjoy all that Patagonia offers. Add to all this, a master photographer who captures all the experiences on the rafts with Go Pros, a high caliber drone, and action shots from his kayak, plus lots of filming of the in-camp fun ... then masterfully produced into a video. I can't wait to experience another adventure with Bio Bio!

FRAUD ALERT - July 19, 2025…read more I had a terrible experience with Tahoe Family Adventures. Their communication was an absolute mess from the start. They were extremely slow to respond to emails, constantly gave conflicting information, and ended up booking the wrong photo package despite confirming the details in writing. To make matters worse, they sent an incorrect invoice--again, after already "confirming" everything. When the day finally came to pick up the boat, they told us their employee had been arrested and the boat was impounded. Seriously? The whole thing sounded completely made up and unprofessional. Based on how many issues we encountered and how casually they handled everything, it feels like this is a pattern for them. I wouldn't be surprised if they burn customers like this regularly. Save yourself the stress and go with a more reliable company. This one isn't worth the headache.
