We arrived to the meeting spot around 10am and got back to the cars around 3:15pm. Reservations were easy to do online, and I received the confirmation email shortly after with details on timing, meeting location, and what to expect for the day. This was the only communication we received, so if you're someone who finds reminder emails helpful, you may not get it with OWA. We were split up between two boats with one additional solo guest. The shuttle ride was quick to Paradise campground, leaving the meeting point around 10:10am. The guides set us up with life jackets and paddles, provide us with instructions for paddling and safety, and after hopping in the boats and doing some practice strokes, we were on our way. The deli-style lunch was set up for us about 2 hours into the trip (12:30pmish). We ate at a campground with bathroom access. The lunch spread consisted of bread, deli meats, cheese, sauces/condiments, melon, veggies, chips, cookies, PB/jelly, sodas - a surprisingly vast assortment and was a treat after a few hours on the water. The entire trip was really fun. We enjoyed chatting with our guides, paddling into the rapids and enjoying the scenery. Our boat hit a rapid "just right" and two members of our raft fell out, but we moved quickly to get them back in the raft and all had a good laugh about the rapid. The only thing I wish is that OWA would offer photos (just cell phone, nothing fancy). As they carry a dry bag and phones, it would have been nice to have a photo of our group that could be emailed/texted after the trip. Or from the staff member who sets up the lunch. We all really enjoyed our day and would definitely be interested to do another trip with OWA. And as the email says, "And remember, a guide can over tip your boat, but you can't over tip your guide."

They will take all your money! My fiance and I rented two jet skis from them for half the day and they wouldn't give us extra life jackets for our family members that were on the beach waiting to ride the jet skis too. The owners of the Marina spoke to us as if we were already guilty of destroying their jet skis and THEN when it was time to return the jet ski's, the owner made us ride the jet ski's up to the dock while screaming CLOSER, CLOSER, CLOSER, the jet ski hit the dock. So they charged us an extra $100 because of a scratch that they made us do!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! NEVER RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!! JUST DESPERATE FOR MONEY!!

The nearby showers and bathroom are very unclean. The beach area they advertise for kids to play in…read moreis very small and misleading. We could not find any good spots around the lake to play in the water with our kids and dog. Also, the Trump 2020 flags they were hung everywhere were a huge turn off. Why would a lake marina and camp ground be advertising their political views ? It was very odd. We won't return and I would discourage this place to others.

Equipment is very nice, guide Mike was awesome. I learned SO much about the marine life, birds, and old coast guard station. Wet suits are provided. Suitable for beginners. The guide takes pictures that are available online afterward, so just go, paddle, and enjoy this gem of the Oregon Coast. SO, SO glad I did this. Thank you, David and Mike.

The rafting itself was amazing with a variety of rapids and scenery. We saw a lot of wildlife around the lodges and during rafting. Our guides made great lunches which we devoured at gorgeous locations along the river banks. The front desk staff that helped with our reservations as well as pre and post trip lodge accommodation at Morrions lodge were nice. Shout out to Lisa for everything she did to make our experience memorable. Highly recommend the rafting as well as the morrison lodge. We will be back soon

I have a group of friends who do hiking trips together every few years, and this year we picked…read moreMorrisons Rogue River hike with support from guides on rafts. Booking the trip was relatively straightforward, but Morrisons highly encouraged us to do trip insurance because they don't offer refunds, which should've been the first red flag. Before I go too far, I do want to give a huge shout out to our guides Drew, Adam, and Johnny. They were amazing, and if I were rating just them, this review would be 5++ stars. They were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely cared about us and our hike. The rest of the Morrison's staff...not so much. There was an active wildfire in the area before we started the hike. We talked to Morrison's several times in the days leading up to the trip (before we flew out) and even asked about rebooking the trip for a different time, when the forest in the area wasn't on fire. We were assured that even though they were planning a few modifications to our itinerary (i.e. at least one day of rafting instead of hiking), they were confident that it would be a wonderful trip. Fast forward to the end of day 2 of our trip...and they had to cancel the rest of the 4-day hike due to safety concerns and, ultimately, a mandatory evacuation. To be clear, I'm not upset that we were pulled out of the woods, as that was an obvious safety decision. I'm mad because we specifically asked about rebooking for different dates and were told no. Morrison's got us back to their main lodge the following morning, at which point they considered themselves done with us. There was no refund, no help finding rooms for the night, and the last lodge we were in literally wouldn't even let us use the bathroom in the hour we were waiting for vans to get us back to safety. Morrison's did at least send us all an official email about the trip cancellation so that we could share that with our travel insurance (if we'd purchased it) to try to get a refund, but that was about it. Morrisons also made the guides tell us, rather than having anyone higher up in the company talk to us. From what we can tell, they also didn't do anything to help their guides (e.g. helping them find lodging) once the trip was canceled. I will also add that I'm vegetarian, and although there was a lot of very tasty vegetarian food available, vegetarian protein was extremely scarce. For dinner the two nights we hiked (~9 mi on day 1 and 15 mi on day 2), there was no source of vegetarian protein for me to eat. (The gluten free and dairy free people fared much better.) It would've been so easy to roast a portobello mushroom the way they roasted salmon, or to do some kind of meat substitute when they did ribs (they did have meat substitute at the lunches, and eggs or veggie patties at breakfast). I had brought some protein powder with me, but not enough to make up for dinners without protein. My friends ended up giving me the protein bars they'd brought for themselves to try to make up for the dinners. To Morrison's: please consider all macronutrients (carbs, fat, AND protein) when planning meals for your guests! Overall, I would absolutely go back to the river with any of the guides, but I'll never use Morrisons again, and I recommend that you don't either.

Indigo Creek Outfitters gave us Beta for our first run through Caldera at the current flows of…read more1100cfs that were previously 1400cfs (no more dams). While we were a 3-raft private group with tons of Caldera experience, and not clients, they gave us the Beta on how Caldera and Hells Corner had changed, and a strategy on running them. The Beta on Hells Corner was immensurable as we ran far left, not the standard far right line. Saved us from getting pinned. My point: Congeniality and sportsmanship go a long way. Making friends over the phone / talking about a river run is part of this great sport. So please get out there with Indigo and enjoy their professionalism.

We are summer residents and live on the McKenzie River for 22 summers. We raft the river several…read moretimes each summer with our friends and family. My husband and I decided to try TnT. We watch all the company's guides on the river and they looked fun and safe from our view on the river. We loved the trip with Tonya, Tim and Bert. The guides were friendly, knowledgable and safe. I changed rafts along the river from Bert's raft to Tonya's to even the numbers and weight. What an experience. Laughed so much and got so wet. We stopped to let people swim and jump off "climbing rock". Later we stopped at McKenzie Bridge campground for a short snack and potty break. Tnt supplied huge amounts of snack bars, chips, nuts, fruit, and bottled water for our consumption. If you want to see the McKenzie River along with it"s class one and two plus rapids, I would recommend Tnt!
