Myself and two of my friends were on a girls' trip for the weekend at Lake Martin and wanted pizza. The wait staff and the pizza makers were all super friendly and hospitable. The outside wasn't open because of the weather but it looks like a whole lot of fun so I really want to go back one day soon because the pizza is definitely worth traveling for. Visiting the area and this place was recommended. The pizza flavor was very good but we ordered 4 pizzas to go for our group and 3 of them were wrong. It was a 20 min drive each way so we made it work but was disappointed with our order. Biggest error was our request for the gluten free dough and that pizza to have no cheese either. Luckily the dairy free/gluten free is a preference and not an allergy because we didn't realize it was not gluten free until til after eating some. read more

After spending a day on the lake, we were hungry. Lake Martin Pizza Co. was amazing. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the pizza was even better. Inside doesn't look like much, and I have to admit I was skeptical of the quality upon walking in. After a short wait, the pizza came to our table super hot. The crust was crispy, and they did not skimp on toppings. My kids, who usually survive on very little actual food, sweets, and air, ate 2 slices each, and then each had another when we got home. If you're staying in the Lake Martin area of Alabama, this is a tasty option for lunch or dinner, especially on a Friday night when you'll never get a table at Niffer's or Oskar's, the only other restaurants worth trying in the area. Since I've been to Frank Pepe's in Connecticut, a perfect 5 pizza, and dined at many pizzerias in Italy, my standards are unreasonably high. Lake Martin's is a high 3 on my scale of great pizzerias across America, but that's actually a good thing and you will certainly not be disappointed! What you don't want is a pizza that is a 1 or 2. I wouldn't drive 30 miles for this particular pizza place, but considering there are no decent options in Dadeville proper, Lake Martin Pizza Co. does a lot of business and rightfully so. What I really like is that LMPC goes light on the red sauce, just like the pizza I've had in Sicily and Rome. No need to overload a pizza with sauce, like they blasphemously do in Chicago! The meat toppings are really good here. The white pizza probably needs a tiny decrease in goat cheese and a tiny increase in feta cheese, but it's good! I like a softer crust, so I wasn't a big fan of the crispy crust here. But we definitely had a great dinner while at the lake house! The employees are very welcoming and patient while you place your order. An attractive lady bearing a striking resemblance to actress Jami Gertz, probably the owner, comes by the tables and makes sure customers are satisfied. We struck gold when we wanted some food after a long day on lake Martin. We were so surprised when we walked in and we found out there is a live band! Reggae to the max with the band FACE THE WORLD. Pizza was great, beers were cold and they had a great selection of canned brews from all over. I recommend this place 100 percent! We came here at 5pm on a Wednesday with the restaurant basically empty. We went to order and they said the wait would be 2 hours because of call in orders. We had a bigger group, and a large group behind us decided to leave as well because of the wait. There were 3 people in the restaurant total with a 2 hour wait for a pizza, and instead of mixing in call in orders and in restaurant orders they lost out on a good bit of business. Do yourself a favor and avoid the disappointment. These folks shouldn't be in the restaurant business. It's that bad. Terrible experience, mediocre product. We ordered via phone at 5:30pm. We were told our 3 (very basic) pizzas (pepperoni and cheese) would be ready at 7-7:15pm. Went back at 7:15 - the guy said it would be 30-45 more minutes. Went back 30 minutes later and waited. We did not get our pizzas until 8:45. Meal should've been comped. Ridiculously unorganized. Crust and pizza were below average. They had 5 employees working on the line and still couldn't get it done. Two of our pizzas sat in boxes on top of the oven for almost an hour while we waited for the third to finish. If my family gets food poisoning, I'll be sure to repost. My 8 year old could make a better pizza - and he could do it a heck of a lot faster. read more

If you're craving pizza, this appears to be the only option near Lake Martin - so it will suit your craving. However, if you're craving "good pizza", you might want to wait until you get home. We bought 6 pizzas and 5 of them had spots that were grossly over cooked and/or burnt. Oh - and 6 MEDIUM pizzas with 0-2 toppings set us back $80. Also, we were quoted a pickup time 75 minutes after ordering, but the pizza was lukewarm when we arrived 10 minutes early. On our next trip to Lake Martin, we will be bringing DiGiorno's pizza.
