A very old…read moreschool The Student Museum of Sanford is the fourth oldest school in continuous use in Florida. It started out in 1902 as Sanford High School and then when the new high school was built in 1911 was changed to a grammar school. It served in this capacity until 1984 and now is an interpretive center and teaching museum. A building that has taught a lot of things to a lot of people. The structure is in a Romanesque Revival Style and is one of the few buildings left in Florida from this period. It had two wings added in 1916 but still retains it's very distinctive and cool looks. The outside is interesting to look at with the fascinating architecture and nice gardens in the back but it's the inside that has the really good stuff. Lots of well designed rooms with different names that emphasized aspects of the regions history. My favorite was the early school room with the quaint old desks, items and artifacts that really takes you back in time. The museum is only open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1:30 to 3PM because it takes on it's other role as a interpretive center and teaching museum and is usually crawling with kids. They is no charge and there are always people around to answer any stupid questions you might have. Definitely one of the most fascinating museums in the area that just has so much cool stuff to look at. Unfortunately not many people have even heard of it because the the short hours that it is open to the public. That's fine because it continues to function in it's main role as a place that educates and teaches. One that it has been doing for a long, long time.

What used to be the…read moreonce, 13th Street, It is now been renamed to show the local flavor, now calling it, Goldsboro Blvd. I met the Curator, Miss Francis, for the first time, a year ago at a Christmas Party- and she is an absolute asset to the community. The atmosphere is primitive and folksy. And although there is no charge, you are "Free" to make a donation. he he Across the street is the Welcome Center. It is welcoming but again, very primitive, in a "grandma's" house kinda way. The biggest thing is the education, you will learn about Goldsboro, before it was Sanford. Hopefully, some day they will Incorporate the old Booker Town of Sanford, located on the other side of the Sanford Rail. (Shoot, I remember those days too). The second thing is, White people are truly welcome. No one stares, no scene to be had. They are actually glad you showed, And you will be too. These are not the olden days of Circa 1990, assuredly, it is NOT. Also, they do Charity work for the Community. I missed out on the last phone drive, but to give you an example: it was for a bus pass for a week for citizens of Orlando to get a job in Orlando. This is a grea tplace for kids and teens alike. The is one off putting thing, at least to me, Is the Trayvon Martin scene. I just don't like it when any museum, funded by public, take on Political views. I think it is inappropriate. My Week at The Cassadaga Hotel…read more The younger me had been here, The Cassadaga Hotel several times and had amazing experiences each time. I still look back on those fond memories. If you read my first review, it's nothing but great things to say about the hotel. Recently, I was in need of a retreat. I didn't think of the gulf coast, or northern FL in the woods, or the Keys. I thought of a place close to my heart without hesitation, even though I had not been years. I thought of Cassadaga. So, I decided to stay at The Cassadaga Hotel. Just like my very first stay here, I planned to stay two days and ended up staying for several. On account of a few different reasons. I wanted to continue on my spiritual journey; I wanted to see deeper into the hotel that I had grown to love... I wanted to just "experience." And I did. Cassadaga itself is its own entity for another review, but it's a breath of fresh air. Amongst this Cassadaga fresh air is also a different kind of "air" from the hotel...open arms. From the moment I walked in to book a room until the moment I drove out of the driveway a week later, I was enveloped in that feeling of genuine care and dedication to my happiness as a guest. From the owner Diana, who's impeccable dedication and love for her employees, & the hotel was apparent from the moment you met her. She was even so professional and such a role model to her employees as to what customer service is all about. They have no afterhours guest services. She was having dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel. She went out of her way to make sure my son and I were comfortable by having our room switched. This is what I call A+ unblemished service. To the women who worked at the lovely store, Chrissy and Dawn, inside the hotel and the front desk were so delightful, even when things got busy. They were able to maintain composure and kept their cool. I send out my appreciation and recognition to them! Not an easy job to do! Customer service can be a hard line of work. Their onsite maintenance man, Phillip, was very kind in offering to help carry in my bags for me. He has put a lovely water garden on their front lawn, quite gorgeous. I also had the pleasure of getting to know two of the psychics in house as well, Laura and Angela. Not only are they two charming women, but they are also the real deal. If you want a reading at Cassadaga Hotel, they have great psychics/mediums on board. I would like to thank Kim and Laura from housekeeping. They are some of the most hardworking women I know on site. Their smiles and genuine positive attitudes in their interactions with me while doing the arduous task of cleaning up after every guest inspired me to have a good morning every day! So, thank you Cassadaga Hotel for yet another unforgettable stay. You've left with me with many more memories to cherish in the future. I send all my love with this review.

The Lake Mary public library is a very small library and is limited on the books they have in…read morehouse. But the great thing is that you can go online and reserve a book to be picked up at a later date. This library system also has a lot of programs for adults and kids from swing dancing to Spanish classes to English classes to book events.. The Seminole public library system has various locations throughout Seminole County. This library is very convenient for our family as it's less than 2 minutes away and located in between the middle school and the high school which is nice for the kiddos to venture to after school. The library also sits next to a park so you can hit both the books and the playground all in one day.

Each section of the place was set up so strategically for the photography. It didn't feel crowded at all even though there was a good number of models and photographers there. You could tell the owner and his team put a lot of thought into this place - determining where to put each set, how to space it out so it didn't feel claustrophobic and to allow enough walking/standing area in between. There was enough props, backgrounds, and unique furniture for all sorts of photos. Vibe is very on point and I was able to get some amazing photos thanks to some fantastic photographers and the sets. The large prism that you could enter the huge and LED screen/platform were my absolute favorite. (Not sure if that's what they're actually called) I was there for 2-3 hours but there was still so many more places to shoot at! Definitely a cool place to check out with a group of friends!!
