We stopped by while we waited on our table at a nearby restaurant. Staff that welcomed us were very friendly. We are Orlando natives so it was pretty interesting. The museum is free, they do take donations. I saw that they have a scavenger hunt for the kids, pretty cool place.

I have been to downtown Winter Garden many times but never visited the museum until recently. It was really cool and shout to the incredible Volunteer (sadly I was keeping up with the kids and did not get her name) who was walking around with us. My kids loved it and I learned a lot about the history of the area. It is donation based for entry (cash or PayPal). Check it out!

I was not expecting much the day I poked into this museum with friends and family one Sunday afternoon. Boy, what a cute hidden gem! It's FREE! It has an adorable cabouse the kids can get into and explore and inside tons of train memorabilia. Everyone enjoyed it! I will make this a must see for out of town visitors.

The Winter Garden Heritage Museum is run by the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation. This foundation also runs the Central Florida Railroad Museum , History Research & Education Center & Visitors Center. Their mission is to preserve the heritage and architecture of West Orange County while creating new cultural experiences. You can buy monogrammed bricks that are placed around the outside of the Heritage Museum. It's a great opportunity to support an awesome cause or honor a loved one. The cost is $65.00 for members and $75.00 for non-members. The museum opened in 1983. The building that they are located in was the old 1918 Atlantic Coastline Depot. The museum is open daily at 1 pm. They have archeological finds of the Native American lifestyle, antiques from the founding days and lots of photos of the past. Of course this just names a few things that you will see. There is much more offered making this an enjoyable stop.

Great visit to this free museum. It's small but filled with some great history in the area from farming to history of education in the area. The guy running the front area was very knowledgeable of the area and it's history. The train out front was donated by the family of the person who developed the coca-bottle you can see all the china from these train cars at the railroad museum down the street. Dave is a fantastic tour guide if he offers take him up on the guided tour. Well worth the visit.

Located in the former Winter Garden railroad station, this is a charming, small (and free) museum. While it only consists of a lobby and two exhibit areas, they've managed to pack an impressive amount of displays, artifacts and historical documents into the space without it feeling overly cluttered. My wife's exclamation on entering was "There's so much, I don't know where to begin!".  In general, the exhibits are divided into three areas. One focuses on the native indigenous peoples and a few of the very early  settlers. The other focuses on the civic, social and political life of Winter Garden in the early and mid-20th centuries (with a little on the 19th century settlers). THe third focuses on the citrus industry which, along with bass fishing, was the lifeblood of the community.  Sadly, orange blight diseases and time have meant that, according the very nice person manning the lobby "there's not a lot of either anymore." Admission is free, but they do have a collection box for donations if you want to keep the museum open and free. Outside is a railcar that you can enter, which is interesting. The outside also features a few vintage machines like tractors and a pumping wagon. Finally, the "historic district" area surrounding this little museum is extremely charming and welcoming --  although it only encompasses a few blocks seemingly.

Great FREE little museum in the heart of Winter Garden Historic Downtown! They do accept donations which is always great to support these places. The museum had history all the way from the Seminole Native Americans that lived in the area to when the white settlers came to the orange groves. Super cute place to stop by and learn a bit about Florida history. Recommend it to all! They also had a little treasure hunt map for kids for $1 for them to find things throughout the museum which I thought was adorable!

One of them happened to be the mess fest that was going on this past weekend. So we decided to head out to Orlando and let me tell you it was so much fun!! They transformed one of their rooms into a fun place for the kids to get messy. You were catapulting scrunchie balls covered in paint onto a canvas sheet. There was another area where they were doing little bottle rockets with paint and Alka-Seltzer. That my kids absolutely LOVED. They also had scribble bots, a raffle painting for canvas paintings but that's not all because they had other stuff going on different floors. We got to make our own slime and we even got to go outside and watch them use liquid nitrogen to cause a bubbly explosion that the kids got to play afterwards. This was a 10 out of 10 experience.

We have free passes with our Legoland annual pass, so we checked out this place, the Orlando, Eye, and Madame Tussaud's. There was a lot of things to read, I made my older son practice reading by reading a lot of the plaques. There was also some fun interactive screens. And the highlight was a mermaid that was swimming around in the tank that came up to wave at everyone. It must be somewhat common place because we saw the mermaid a couple of times and only in one area where people rushing up to get pictures. The aquarium is broken out into sections, they had quite a few different species. My son also liked the touch tank. Overall, it took us about 45 minutes to get through so it's not a full day thing. If you read more, you could maybe make it last a couple hours, but for young children, I would say about an hour. Parking at icon park is easy. There's a free parking garage that has free parking on the upper levels and pay to park on the lower levels. When we came at about 5 PM on a Saturday there were tons of spots. I don't think this place gets that busy until nighttime.

For 2 tickets it's was coming up to almost $80. I looked online quickly and found they have Florida resident discounted tickets. For 2 people it ended up being around $65. Thankfully I looked online, because for $80 it is VERY overpriced for the experience. While it is an immersive experience and they have lots of views, interactions and beautiful marine life, I found that walking thru the aquarium lasted maybe an hour and that's with kids stopping and looking. They have lots of add ons and it seems that if you don't do the add ons then you pretty much just walk around, look at all the tanks, and do a touch tank that's pretty much it.

It was part of my Go City Explorer pass, which is a good deal if you want to hit up multiple random attractions and don't have a good idea of what to do. It's also slightly cheaper on Groupon if you're not from the area and want to buy individually. Parking is free in Icon Park's garage floors 4-7. It's an easy walk to the elevators to go down with a bunch of other tourists to walk through the park to near the center, where the Museum of Illusions is located. Along the way, you can get a nice photo op with the ferris wheel in the background. Once you walk in, you present your entry at the counter, and can begin walking through the exhibits on the left (the right side behind the counter is where you'll be exiting, beyond the few racks of merchandise). The walkthrough is pretty short - most of the wait is basically waiting on other people to clear out so you can take your own photos. We did everything in 45 minutes. There's not too much text to read, but sufficient enough for a basic understanding of how the illusions work. There are supposed to be a couple of guides waiting around to assist with photo-taking, but they were concentrated in one area, so for the most part it felt like we had to help ourselves. My favorite exhibits were the head on a platter, Ames room, and cloning table. Everything is still obviously a trick if you take another look at the photos. The reversed room could have been neat, but it doesn't account for gravity pull on fabric, so it only works if you have a shaved head and are wearing skin-tight clothes. The vortex tunnel is not too impressive - just more of an in-person dizzy balancing experience. The infinity room is pretty neat, though awkward when you're behind the camera. The entire experience would be a lot better if there were sensors that took photos for you, since taking the photo yourself negates some of the "magic" in the pictures. I also think they need better instructions for some rooms, since it sometimes took a few minutes to figure out what I should be looking at or doing. For a one-time experience, it's alright.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, explaining how each illusion worked and helping create them. They even took the pictures, which made the experience even more interactive and entertaining. I just wish the museum were a bit bigger so we could've spent even more time there, but overall it's a unique, fun, and memorable spot that's worth a visit!

Seeing real artifacts recovered from the ship is an incredible experience, and the exhibits are well put together. The staff was friendly, and the museum was clean and well maintained.
