When we arrived, the managerial staff were friendly and informative. One of the main reasons why we choose this spot was b/c they allow dogs. We booked cottage #1 that was private and right on the water. The only "complaint" (which is not really a complaint) is that it gets a lot of sun, so if you want to sit outside, you may want to bring an umbrella. There are communal areas that include a firepit, pool and playground. There is also a dock where you can bring your own boat (I think) or rent one. A lot of people go fishing. My boyfriend and I had booked a wine tour, and there was no problem with being picked up or dropped off from this location. It's a little bit far from the town of Picton. It's about a 30-40 min walk, which can be deadly in the heat. It's a very quick drive, but not easy to walk around. The studio cottage was spacious, and had everything you needed. There was a BBQ and we cooked most of our meals there. They have cable TV, which I was surprised about. It was fairly clean, and the air conditioner worked well, which was nice on the hot days. Unfortunately, it looks like the 'resort' hasn't been updated in 30 years and that's what it sounds like in the reviews. It's really a very pretty area and would be much nicer if mgmt spent some money. The waters are clear and beautiful. Anyways, my review is for lunch at the restaurant which I thought was quite good. We had mussels, the meat pie, and the reuben sandwich and all were filling and tasty. Service was attentive. The only knock would be that the prices are a tad high but it is a vacation area so not too bad. Unfortunately, the restaurant is on the wrong side of the road to get a glimpse of the magnificent view down the mountain, that would be reserved for Miller pub but I don't think they serve any food. And there isn't much view of the lake on the mountain either cause it's not that close to the water. Overall, I would say it's a pretty good place to eat in Prince Edward county.

The rooms vary depending on what day you book it cause some rooms sell faster than others and each one is number and depending on that number the view point might be skipped different. For instance we got recommended to do 3 and our room choice I would say it was the best section to able to see them all in all angles and the room that comes with a kitchenette prepared to bring snacks or food that can be microwave . Our room canes with also a futon couch and bed with curtains around it bringing the elevated to the room on top of that the decor and the layout of the room was amazing. Check in is at 2pm and it is a self check in process no reception check-in. We checked in online before 2 PM and got our code around that time to get into our area and that was smooth and I love how exclusive it is and peaceful its not to loud like the city vibes it's your away from home kind of vacations vibes. They do have a a quiet time starts at 10pm. And the tiger do not come out earlier than the scheduled time and there more information on there site with more details on that timing and when it's a good time to visit. Two minor annoyances - 1. Please do as they ask and put away the phones. It is distracting for other guests 2. Don't reserve chairs by the pool for a long time by leaving your belongings there. Some folks did it for over 3 hours while we were there. So not fair to other guests. Otherwise, a wonderful spot and great staff. Note - Do take your epi pen if you are allergic to bees/wasps. There are quite a few buzzing around the pool and gardens.

We also had a nice view of the water and boats from the room, which was a bonus. However, the balcony hadn't been cleaned off in a while as there were lots of bugs and cobwebs. The hotel also offers Starbucks coffee on each floor every morning! The breakfast on the patio was good, but the service was a little slow. We also enjoyed happy hour on the patio one night though --the crab dip was delicious, and the espresso martini was excellent. A couple of things to know before your stay: there aren't complimentary bottled waters in the room, but the front desk is happy to provide them if you ask. The hotel also doesn't have a late-night market or convenience area for drinks and snacks, which would have been nice. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend The Harbour Hotel for anyone visiting Clayton.

All I can say, it was probable tim for this change. This will be taken over my Choice Hotel group (Comfort inn, quality inn, etc). You can see the potential of this estate, but yes, with years, they did nto keep up with the needed maintenance and lots of things getting broken or rotten. Found an old cot bed outside the room and took it. The personel was really nice though. But this is a site for families and groups. We stayed at the lodge 1, in one of the suites. I would not call this a suite, but hey... I appreciated the inner patio with view on the lake. This was perfect to just sleep in, but I wouldn,t stay here for a logn run.
