I have been here about five times and every visit was great except for the most recent. Our waitress never showed up at our table for 10 to 15 minutes while we were waiting to place an order. Because the portions here are so extremely large I ordered a kids meal for myself. The waitress with pink hair told me in a condescending tone that she was doing me a favor by letting me order a kids meal, but no one else would ever allow me to do that. when I went to check out I verified if that was true and the manager told me I could get whatever I wanted. Waitress would disappear for long periods of time. No attention was given to refills on coffees. all in all horrible waitress. read more

3 of us and nobody was really happy with their lunch. Taco salad appeared to have a hamburger patty chopped and placed on top of salad - no seasoned meat. The spinach feta grilled cheese, that I pointed to as I ordered, came out an American cheese sandwich - I asked if I could get what I ordered...ok but what finally showed up was awful. if I thought that place was worth a 2nd try I would be curious to see what I would get not having this sandwich be a replacement. I truly enjoyed this place. The food was excellent and the price point was excellent. The service was utterly incredible from my server Gloria. Her friendly demeanor and gentleness with me as a first timer to the restaurant was refreshing. The restaurant almost feels like you're visiting a beach. With fine crafter cocktails and a seated bar area, open seating with wonderful booths. This place is truly a renovated gem that everyone should enjoy at least once. Yummmmm! We went on a Sunday at 11am. There was a 20 minute wait, so we sat at the bar area. (There is a large lobby area with cushioned seats and pillows, if you do wait.) Mama Z was the barista and the coffee was strong -Lavazza, and the OJ fresh squeezed from the machine behind the bar. The good- coffee and LARGE OJ for $7. The not-so-good- wait was about 30 minutes, but we were warned by hostess and Mama Z that it was busy, and it would be a bit before food came out. The good- our coffee cups were kept full, and we splurged on a Screwdriver, and a fancy mocha coffee, made before we ate. Also good- meat lovers omelette packed with ham chunks and bacon. We were there on a Thursday afternoon and the place was packed. I think we got the last available table. Service came quickly to take our order. Wife had Reuben. I had Turkey Club. Even though the place was full the food arrived pretty fast. Wife had the unusual complaint that there was too much meat in the Reuben, but this was offset by the minimal sauce and saurkraut. She said it was ok, not great. My Turkey Club was almost too big for human consumption, especially in public. It was pretty good. Impression of the restaurant - looked really good, light and sunny. Well, this morning was a spur of the moment decision, let's get breakfast? My wife said let's try that new place on lake street. What a great surprise we had in store for us. When you first walk in you are impressed by the decor and how clean this restaurant is. My favorite meal out is breakfast and their expansive menu will satisfy most cravings. The quality of their service is matched by their food. Their senior breakfast that morning was 11$. Which sounds expensive but see the pictures and the amount of food was abundant. In fact my wife only ate half saving the pancakes for later. My eggs Benedict were very good, which came with my choice of potato's or fresh fruit cup. The coffee was very good. This restaurant has only been open for 95 days, so if you are looking for a nice place in the area to have a bite give them a try. read more

got seated right away on a sunday even though there was a lot of people inside. took about 5-10 minutes to get served for drinks which we waited another 5-10 minutes to get. we got a house squeezed orange juice and iced chai tea latte. the orange juice freshly squeezed was mid, had a lot of pulp. the chai was not good. we also ordered a chicken noodle soup and it was a 6/10, the broth was good with an addition of salt and pepper along with the noodles and carrots. they just seemed to really pile on the vegetables which wasn't much appreciated but what can you do. the bread on the side though i'd get a loaf of. for food we got the french toast with breakfast potato's on the side and the lake street special with extra bacon which we just got bacon and sausage. the french toast was bomb the syrup is not even needed super fluffy and flavorful. the touch of whip cream is good. the potato's were not that good seemed like they needed to be boiled longer and they were semi cold when received. the lake street special had the potato's which the same thing, the bacon tasted okay was just more gummy that usual, the sausages were good and the eggs were like microwaved eggs. waited about 30 minutes. overall really nice decor inside, love the way how it's renovated, i'd come back for something else read more

If I could leave a 0 I would. Our party of 14 arrived on Mother's Day at 10:45 AM , we were told it would be a pretty long wait, approximately 45min, but we agreed to be put on the waiting list to be seated together. At 1:11 PM we had still not been approached or updated on the status of our table, so we went and requested an update. They expressed that there was still no room for a party of 14, yet many smaller parties which arrived hours after us were sat. Some even arrived, ate, and left as we were still waiting. At that time we were approached by the manager who told us they had 2 booths available to seat 12, but would have to wait for a table to open up for the other 2, we declined and said we've already been waiting to be seated together and so we'd continue to wait. They insisted, considering they closed at 2PM. The manager became hostile as we became flustered with the excuse of having to wait such a long time. Nevertheless, we would've preferred to have been told they couldn't accommodate our party instead of having us wait and eventually leave. Please do better in being honest with your customers about accommodations and wait times instead of wasting our time. read more

Wow ....I mean wow.. I have to say this was one of the best breakfast places I've been. Everything I had was delicious..... The restaurant itself is professionally designed. Great PR..for interior design work ...Very cozy, clean bright...Love it ...but the food was a match....... So let me start my review.. Knowing I am a soup connoisseur their chicken soup was on point, full of vegetables, chicken, and noodles. It was delicious and served in a nice sized bowl which was served with complimentary bread rolls with garlic butter topping.... We then ordered the salmon crab meat Benedict... Excellent combination with asparagus and capers. I was never a fan of locks but the combination of all together has me going back there next week... Not only that, we ordered the chilaquilas I thought the best one I had was at the bee Brothers but This one topped it... And I like that they had the salsa on the side so it wasn't mushy even though there was sauce on the tortilla chips... Of course we had to have something sweet.. and a tower of brioche French toast with fresh berries and mascarpone with coulis sauce.. although the menu says compote.. It was thinner like coulis sauce .... The kids menu was also a delight enough for two children to eat. We ordered also the French toast which we've also done on the brioche.. And I absolutely love the potatoes. Fresh cut up potatoes... They do not serve hash browns but who needs them when you are actually serving real potatoes... Most breakfast restaurants have a big problem of using frozen hash browns or those country potatoes. Just terrible especially if all you do is breakfast... This was one fabulous breakfast. I have been bragging about it since I left.. I've been to many, many restaurants and this one, there were no words..... To top off a beautiful place. Wonderful food! We had this phenomenal server. I think his name was Luis. So personable friendly. Very efficient. Always smiling. Very patient as I can be very difficult customer.. I certainly didn't ruffle any feathers on him. He was on point..... He seems to be a great addition to a your restaurant.... That sums it up. I will be back there next week to try a few more things. I will give you an update on other items from there since this is now my new fave... I am driving far to make a trip out there. It was well worth it.... My fiance and I always come to this location. Its actually our favorite breakfast place since moving to itasca. Today we decided to do takeout. This was by far the worst service I have recieved. One of the girls in there was very kind but then there was another girl who was was heavy set ( should've gotten her name) demanding I pay 8 dollars for creps after odering 2 steak breakfast. Everytime we come in the servers always do this substitution for us with no charge. Paying 8 extra dollars is insane and being rude to a customer who comes in regularly is even worst. I say this to say if you are going to work in the service industry make sure you have good customor service. This can affect your tip as well. thank you and have a great day. read more

Crab and salmon Benedict was a huge disappointment because they failed to mention it was imitation crab. Super low grade food and drink for a high price. The food was pretty good and for $17 came in a pretty big portion size. There were three pieces of super thickly cut brioche French toast. Just one piece was enough to leave me full. I could definitely get this and split it three ways with others. It also came with some butter packets, maple syrup, and a utensil packet. I just walked in to pick up my order, but from what I could see the place looked clean and neatly organized. 7 of us walked in around 11:30am on a Saturday. They initially told us it would be a 55 minute wait, but we only waited 10, which was great. I ordered the lox and bagel, scrambled eggs on the side, and the iced marble drink. The lox and bagel was good; not anything extraordinary. They do not skimp on the smoked salmon which is nice, and the bagel was soft. The iced marble was good too, a bit too sweet for my taste though. The inside is really nice. Our waitress didn't come check up on us even once, but it could be that she was frazzled. 2 of my friends ordered the 'chilaquiles' and did not like it. Lake Street Cafe in Addison on.....Lake Street, DUH! Haha. Everything was fresh and cooked well but the skillet lacked seasoning and there was almost NO corned beef in it. Really disappointed with that. The Brulee Banana French Toast was great, BUT.... the banana pieces should be rolled in sugar then torched, or even make a quick caramel sauce in a pan and toss them in it before putting it on the French toast. They burned banana slices before putting them on top and covering it with, what tasted like, store bought caramel sauce. I will 100% go back here and try more items because everything looked and smelled amazing. The inside of the place is immaculate too. Staff was good for them being so packed. Room for improvement but like I said, I'll be back. This place needs to remedy these things to make it a 5 star brunch spot. read more
