    Meat Lover's Omelette

Such a cute place! I ordered the Belgium waffle but the batter was just wayyyy too thick. It tasted like cake mix and it was dry and not crispy. I couldn't even finish a quarter of the waffle. With that said, the omelette we ordered was pretty good. Very big portion and filled with ingredients. The service was good our server checked with us multiple times.

My boyfriend kept telling me about Lake St Cafe and how much he loves it so we had to go! The inside is very cute, good for casual or nice breakfast. We had to add ourselves to a waitlist, but it goes very quick. Our waitress was wonderful, no complaints there. I got the bacon avocado burger and it was delicious! My boyfriend got the glazed donut burger and he also loved it. The plates were a bit too small, but our waitress was quick to bring me another plate. I kept seeing the pancakes from the tables around me, so I had to order them. They were huge and fluffy. This place definitely satisfied all my cravings! I will definitely come back.

Our 1st time visit was on a Tuesday at 9:30am. The inside decor is a very pretty light blue and silver. It looks upscale. There are so many breakfast options. After much thought I chose the cinnamon roll pancakes. Three large pancakes. The menu said pure maple syrup is available so I requested that. The pancakes were dessert worthy. When we got our bill I noticed that there was a $2 charge for the pure maple syrup. I inquired about the charge and our server politely showed me that the charge was listed on the menu under "a la carte" items. I hadn't seen it before I ordered it. So be aware that while the menu says "pure maple syrup is available" there is an additional charge for it. This woukd be a nice restaurant to meet with family and friends.

I've been coming here a few times now since they opened. This is one of my local brunch place to go. They have their own private parking lot, is gets really busy during the weekend brunch times. The place has a modern look to it. Their menu have pretty popular breakfast dishes that you can even order a burger for breakfast or breakfast meal for lunch. I noticed today that their meals are pretty hefty portions for your the price you pay. It's not your typical ihop or Denny's kind of place. A bit trendy, it's spacious with booths and tables and they can accommodate large parties I would recommend to call ahead if space is available. No reservations but table turns out quickly. They play nice music in the back ground and the noise level is low medium. There's no tvs so you focus on your food and people around you. They also serve mimosa drink yes alcohol, on the other side of the dinning area they have a coffee bar have a cappuccino have a seat and they have some high top tables if you want to work on the laptop for a bit. We were greeted right away when we entered the place. The food came out hot and fresh. What I liked: I typically get the country fried steak with sausage gravy comes with homemade potatoes fries, and two huge fluffy pancakes. We also go a quarter pound burger on a brioche bun and season crisscrossed fries with garlic aloi Got kids grilled cheese which was tasty that came with crisscrossed season fries. Mom got the garden omelette added chopped breakfast sausage side of homemade potatoes fries and sourdough toast. I tried their corned beef which was good extra crispy, Bacon on the side was extra crispy per request. I like their toasted sourdough bread too. I also tried their cappuccino which was nice to have. They offer fresh squeezed oj as you can see in the coffee area an orange squeeze machine. I also had their smoked salmon and cream cheese meal that was good and a lot of salmon. The staff was friendly and attentive our drinks were filled that we didn't have to ask. Overall a great experience, they even took care of us of a mistake of a take out of forgotten items in the past that we were still able to use our dine in credit for our meal today. Very nice manager on call today. She made us feed welcomed and appreciated us coming in and dine with them. If you are in the area I recommend to check this brunch place out and see for yourself. Whether if your sharing a meal or order a meal for yourself and take home leftovers come on by you won't be disappointed:)

Great breakfast , large portions, good flavor, fluffy pancake, tasted so good! Great people, very friendly and helpful.

We went because I had seen an ad for half off dinners through June and thought it would be a great way to try it. The initial impression was great, the space is clean and cute, very well designed. I was surprised that it wasn't jam packed with the 50% off special. After trying the food, I understand why. The yelp reviews for breakfast looked amazing, so I had high hopes for dinner. First, the calamari was good! Light, airy, and tasted good. The rest of meal was not as good. The prime rib was odd, I ordered medium rare and it came out looking grey and tasted like it had been microwaved. They also forgot the bring the horseradish and when I asked the waitress told me it didn't come with it, even though it clearly says it does in the menu. The chicken parm was like cafeteria chicken parm, nothing special, and the fettuccini Alfredo was creamy, but needed seasoning. Every the ing except for the calamari needed seasoning, even just some salt. The waitress was hard to find, and when she dropped the check, she'd forgotten the 50% off. I waited for her to come back, but had to go to the front to get it taken care of and to pay the bill. I would work harder on offering a better product. The space is great and the waitstaff has a great attitude, just maybe need some training.

    Fresh-squeezed OJ!

This place has long been in my eyesights, and we figured it was about time on a (cold) winter morn to make the trek down from Schaumburg! When we walked in, we were taken by the modern and well-maintained decor- and we were seated within 45 seconds- not too bad. The menu contained all the traditional, expected accoutrements of an American pancake house - with a readable menu "not" written in a size 8 font (yay!). We quickly ordered fresh-squeezed OJ (pricey, but good), and I ordered an American breakfast that consisted of 3 eggs (at least), lotsa taters, 3 pcs of sausage, and rye toast. Hubby ordered the Avocado Toast - a dish we relocated SoCal folks love. The food came at - literally- a warm (but not hot) temp- the Avocado Toast was yummy and very generous (the flavor was really good- and the avocado was totally fresh- nice!). My American breakfast was HUGE. And yup- it was good. We looked at each other and wondered why it took us SO LONG to drive down here? Probably as it's not super close to us, maybe? Damn. We'll be back.

    Cheesy Spicy Chicken Waffle

I've been to Lake St Cafe multiple times and I'm excited everytime. It's my favorite lowkey brunch spot in the suburbs, not too bad price wise, and lots of space. I typically go later in the afternoon and I've never had a problem being sat, the service is always good, and food comes quick. My go to is the breakfast sandwich and the cinnamon french toast is to die for. Tried a bite of the cheesy spicy chicken waffle, and while it's rich, I think I'll give that a try next time I'm in the mood for something savory. Everything is always clean and staff is personable.

Excellent first experience. Menu had plenty of options but not overwhelming. Food was delicious. Spacious, bright, tasteful decor. Service was professional, friendly, and attentive. Details: Food: I ordered the chilaquiles with steak and eggs over easy. Nicely plated with salsa on the side. Hubby ordered the country fried steak. Both meals were delicious and we both had leftovers to take home. Decor: it's a big place with lots of seating, booths and table tops. The decor is tasteful - bright, simple, clean. I like the drop ceiling tiles and the flower arrangement on the round table upon entry. I like that they have a separate area for bar/counter top eating. Customer service: I forgot to get our server's name but he was really nice/friendly. He was attentive even though you could tell he was busy. He always looked over when he passed by to see if we needed anything. Only suggestion: hire a host/hostess... shouldn't be the person behind the register (especially on a busy Saturday morning). World recommend. Will be back.

Orange Juice and Iced Chai Latte
    Evelyn G.

The inside of this place is beautiful, modern, spacious, and really well designed. We came on a busy Sunday morning and were told it'd be a 20-minute wait, but we got seated in five, which was a nice surprise. We started with drinks, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was really good. The chai latte was just okay. For food, we got the breakfast burrito with chorizo, and it seriously lacked flavor. The salsa helped a little, but not enough. I got the country fried steak, which is usually my go-to breakfast order, but this one wasn't great. The gravy was cold, so I sent it back, and when they brought it out again, it was boiling hot and burned my tongue. The breading on the steak tasted stale, and the potatoes were cut way too big. They need to dice them in half at least. They were also super bland. I figured maybe their breakfast sweets would be better since that seems to be their thing, but my pancakes were dry and just crumbled apart. Honestly, the decor and service were great, but the food was disappointing. I wouldn't come back. There are way better breakfast spots in the area.

Decided to visit Lake St Cafe after seeing other positive reviews on Yelp. This inside had been beautifully remodeled for a light and bright interior. I loved the soft tones, subtle patterned wallpaper, textures on soft seating, and decor/lighting throughout. This spot was the hot place to be for a Sunday morning! Although it was crowded, it didn't take more than 5 minutes of waiting to be seated. Once sat, staff was quick to bring us water. Our server came in the right amount of time to review the menu and decide in orders. While many things looked intriguing, I decided on the Breakfast Sandwich and my fiancé on the Souther Breakfast. Food took about 15-20 minutes but came out hot. I chose for the Breakfast Sandwich to be with crispy bacon and in a croissant. I did ask for a side of aioli to add which elevated the flavors. I tried my fiancé's biscuits and gravy which were tasty! Our visit was great and we both said we would go back. Parking could be a bit tough during busy weekend hours but we eventually found a spot!

The food was good, but I don't think we will be going back. My daughter ordered a kids' meal and a glass of milk. The menu very clearly states that kids' meals include juice, soda or milk, but we were charged separately for it anyway. When my husband pointed that out to the cashier, she was dismissive and refused to remove the char age. That honestly soured me on the entire experience. Obviously, they don't know what their own menu says, but instead of being dismissive the cashier could have looked at one of the menus from the huge stack less than a foot away from her. So, if you are going to dine here make sure you review your bill, and I guess demand to review the menu to defend it so you aren't over charged.

I was treating my parents for my dad's birthday month (My daughter has a lot of activities, lol) and the menu appeared to have something for everyone. The 22 minute drive to Itasca was so worth it! You go down the stairs, through the developing pizza bar, and to the restaurant. The restaurant space itself is cozy, with beautiful, natural lighting, and lots of seating options. We were asked booth or table and seated right by the picture window with beautiful views of their ice rinks and golf course. The food was above and beyond my expectations! Between the 5 people at the table, I sampled the French Onion soup, Sweet & Spicy Brussels, Bacon Smash Burger, Pot Roast Grilled Cheese, Sweet Tees (Donut Holes), Peanut Butter Smore-o, and Verde Dulce. The soup was not salty as I find some iterations, the brussels had complex flavors with hot honey, bacon, candied pistachios, and crumbled feta. The pot roast grilled cheese was very flavorful, but my boyfriend did state he wished the sandwich had more meat in it. The Sweet Tees donut holes were cooked to perfection without being oily and the jam accompaniment was a perfect texture and level of sweet. The Peanut Butter Smore-o was creamy and decadent with its perfectly ratioed layers of ganache, peanut butter mousse, Oreos, and whipped cream. The Verde Dulce, though, was the delicious classic olive oil cake with pistachio gelato & that throwback of candied pistachios from my appetizer. Even better than the food, our server, Kara, was one of the sweetest, most attentive human beings! She answered all of our questions, refilled our fountain drink and iced tea glasses when they were at 75% without prompting, made sure my dad felt celebrated with a candle, etc. Her teammate who was in charge of clearing our table was also prompt and I appreciate her asking what plates she could take. Overall, it was a beautiful late morning/early afternoon with delicious food and impeccable service. 10/10 recommend!!!

Upon my first visit on a Thursday for lunch, the waitress Nur provided excellent service to our table. She was patient, pleasant, and provided answers to our many questions. Just loved her service with a smile and uplifting energy. My friends and I ate hard and everyone enjoyed their food. I tried the lentil soup which was wonderful and I had the mushroom guvec with rice on the side that was delicious. We were served tea as an after dinner refresher which was nice. We noticed the bakery on the way out and they had so many treats ready to be ordered and taken home. The second visit was terrible. I came for lunch on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy. The lahmacon is offered as a lunch special and I asked if I could have the cheesemacon for the special. It's the same version with just cheese and no meat. My waiter Jamal straight told me no. I found that very odd so I inquired further because they are the same price on the menu and it's without meat. The answer still didn't change. I simply had a few more questions about other menu items and Jamal seemed agitated by then. He was not even trying to be nice. I ordered two entrees. I paid full price for the cheesemacon and had a pide with kashkaval cheese. Jamal brought my food and NEVER came back to my table. I watched him provide service to all the other tables during that time. I was fine and didn't need anything, but I didn't deserve to be treated that way for being pleasantly inquisitive. I really felt bothered by this because out of all my years of eating out, I never felt that a server treat me poorly personally for being myself. I've had bad service before just because the service is bad overall and that is different. I like the food so I reluctantly returned for a third time and had breakfast. Service was standard and the food was good. My mushroom omelette was fine. The traditional french toast was solid. This review should be one star but it is four without Jamal.
