    Hirokazu W.

The two purposes of my trip from Japan to the U.S. (San Francisco and Denver) were, Watching MLB games and To go to a sauna. Not far from downtown Denver and about a 10-minute walk from the light rail station (RTD "W"Line Knox Station). Admission is $30 and you can stay as long as you like. It is not a mixed bathing facility, and is divided into men's day and women's day depending on the day of the week. The sauna room has an old-fashioned stone sauna stove, a regular Vihita, a bucket and a water tap! (It's a sauna room that we don't have in Japan) I think the water tap is there to wash off the scattered vihitas after whisking and to fill a bucket with water and cover your head with it when it gets hot (but if you ask if the sauna room gets warm, it does not. It gets hot very quickly.) (But if you ask if the sauna room gets wet, it doesn't.) Instead, there is only a small cold plunge bath. In the afternoon, we went in the morning to watch the MLB Colorado Rockies game, but it rained heavily in the morning. We decided that the baseball game would be delayed, so we took it easy (as expected, the game started an hour late, but it cleared up quickly in the afternoon). I think we were lucky in this area, too! (I have never been to Finland, so I don't know, but I have seen a sauna scene in a Finnish movie, and it was quite similar to the one in Finland). There is also a steam sauna with a strong herbal smell that is intoxicating! I am probably the only Japanese sauna visitor who has been to this sauna...

A rare, old school shvitz. Worth a visit if you're in the area. This is a time machine to a bygone era.

These Asian masseuse practitioners…read moreare focused on body and bone alignment, which can be a challenge for some, particularly for first-timers. This massage style is not for everyone, but for me I absolutely LOVE the reflexology massage I get here. I have been coming here for years now. My last visit was pre-Covid so i was well overdue to get a treatment. After exclusively working from home for 14 months. my body was a wreck. It's hard to beat their price, $69 for 90 mins, are you kidding me?? They've since added heat rocks to the massage which was a new experience for me. The feet in hot water and the uncomfortable position you first lay in are all intentional and part of the experience. I even take my 75 yo mom here. They know how to go softer if you need them to. Rather than relying on words she simply lets out a small pain-like sound if the masseuse is getting too strong for her. It works, and she sits a little taller after the experience. If your adventurous, give em a whirl.

Despite federal law (CARD Act) requiring gift certificates to be valid for at least 5 years, these had a printed 6-month expiration. When I explained the federal law requirement to the owner over speakerphone, he became belligerent and stated directly: "I don't care what the law states, they are expired." He then admitted he's issued "lots of gift certificates" that have expired and refuses to honor any of them. Even after the front desk employee confirmed she personally issued these certificates, the owner refused to honor them or make any exception. I'm deeply disappointed. This isn't just about poor customer service - this is a business owner openly admitting he doesn't care about federal consumer protection laws. I'm filing a complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Warning to others: If you've purchased gift certificates from this business, they may refuse to honor them regardless of what the law requires. Spend your money at businesses that respect both their customers and the law.
