    Hirokazu W.

The two purposes of my trip from Japan to the U.S. (San Francisco and Denver) were, Watching MLB games and To go to a sauna. Not far from downtown Denver and about a 10-minute walk from the light rail station (RTD "W"Line Knox Station). Admission is $30 and you can stay as long as you like. It is not a mixed bathing facility, and is divided into men's day and women's day depending on the day of the week. The sauna room has an old-fashioned stone sauna stove, a regular Vihita, a bucket and a water tap! (It's a sauna room that we don't have in Japan) I think the water tap is there to wash off the scattered vihitas after whisking and to fill a bucket with water and cover your head with it when it gets hot (but if you ask if the sauna room gets warm, it does not. It gets hot very quickly.) (But if you ask if the sauna room gets wet, it doesn't.) Instead, there is only a small cold plunge bath. In the afternoon, we went in the morning to watch the MLB Colorado Rockies game, but it rained heavily in the morning. We decided that the baseball game would be delayed, so we took it easy (as expected, the game started an hour late, but it cleared up quickly in the afternoon). I think we were lucky in this area, too! (I have never been to Finland, so I don't know, but I have seen a sauna scene in a Finnish movie, and it was quite similar to the one in Finland). There is also a steam sauna with a strong herbal smell that is intoxicating! I am probably the only Japanese sauna visitor who has been to this sauna...

love love love…read more Reset is an all encompassing space: compression, sauna, hot tub, cold plunge, red light, and a few other fun lil things for any time in between. Went for leg compression first. I reclined and chatted with my friends. This 15 min flew by and felt so good on my sore muscles. Sauna was nice and dry which gave the perfect amount of sweat without feeling sticky. Quick rinse and it was game time. If I'm being honest, the cold tub was torturous. I went from gasping for air to calm to the most violent shivering on earth. Then into the hot tub where my skin felt like it was on fire. Then back to violence. Was it horrifying? Yes. Would I do it again? Yes. I closed it off with red light therapy and left this place absolutely buzzing. Whatever happened in that 37 degree death trap resulted in some sort of high that I can't explain. I feel like I could run through a wall. I found this place via Tim at a wellness event and he is awesome to chat with. The employee on site, KB, is an absolute gem. She walked us through every step so thoroughly and cheered us on through all the shivers. I will definitely be incorporating this into my routine.

Nicole and Kyle were great and I highly recommend their service. I also had the best manicure experience with Yodit and HIGHLY recommend having her doing your nails! She is so friendly, treated me so well, and made me feel beautiful when she was done. Cant express how pampered I felt at the end of my day at the spa! You also get full access to the whirlpool and steam room and it's a great way to get some relaxation.

Booking: we booked in person and the staff at the front are so nice! Shout out to Melissa, Lindsey…read more& team! Just keep in mind that weekday and weekend prices are different. Weekends are more expensive. Pool: we were told that we have access to the amenities until 8pm. Since our massages were at 6pm and 7pm, we showed up around 4:30pm. But the pool service ends at 5pm so after that we couldn't order any food or drink. There was a towel in the pool and a lot of trash underneath the pool chairs (which you can see if you're in the pool or looking underneath the chairs). So they could do a better job of cleaning up after guests have left the pool area. Massage: great! Just know that a Swedish massage is light to medium pressure. If you need medium or above, book a deep tissue massage. The massage table has warming capabilities and you can choose from oil or shea butter for the massage. Spa: outdated. The spa has 2 showers (1 with an infrared light that did not work), 1 steam room (not really hot), 1 relaxation room (3 reclining chairs), 1 whirlpool, 1 waiting & relaxation room with tea & snacks, and 1 small locker room (which gets cramped). Seems that they overbook - so it's not the most relaxing experience with so many people. Property: The hotel itself is outdated and more casual - the lobby furniture and design in particular. Having been to a few Four Seasons Hotels, it doesn't seem like a Four Seasons. If you're at the spa and want to go to the pool, you have to leave the spa area, go through the reception area, pass the gym and enter the pool area. There's a door between the pool and spa, but it's locked. Unlocking it for customer convenience / experience would be great. Comfort: if you are a person of color this may be an uncomfortable experience. NOT because of the staff (they are amazing), but because of the clientele. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the least relaxing massage experiences I've ever had. For almost the entire massage, the two people giving us our massages were talking to each other. It started out quietly, but as the massage went on they got louder and continued talking for about 50 of the 60 minutes. My mom and I were the only customers there, so it was very distracting and made it impossible to fully relax. When it was time to pay, they asked for a tip. Even though I was disappointed with the service, I still handed over two $10 bills as a tip. As soon as I did, one of the workers became upset and pointed at the tip chart, making it clear that he expected more. There was a language barrier, so I typed into Google Translate to explain that the reason I wasn't leaving a larger tip was because they had spent nearly the entire massage talking instead of allowing us to enjoy a quiet, relaxing experience. Instead of understanding, he continued pointing at the tip chart. At first, it felt like he wasn't going to let my mom and me leave. Then he started pointing toward the door for us to leave. The entire interaction made us feel extremely uncomfortable and left a bad impression. Looking back, I don't think I should have tipped at all based on both the massage experience and the way we were treated afterward. I used to come here often, but after this experience I won't be returning. If I could leave zero stars, I would.
