Orlando has so many beautiful parks and the park surrounding Lake Davis is especially picturesque. I discovered this park while driving to the historic Greenwood cemetery. This park is located in the Lake Davis neighborhood where the boundaries are roughly State Road 408 on the north and Summerlin and Hampton avenues on the west and east. The southern boundary is Gore Street from Mills Avenue east to Hampton and Delaney Park Drive from Summerlin Avenue to Mills. Lake Davis takes its name from early Orlando settler James J. Davis, one of the first surveyors to arrive in the city. In the 1870s, Davis settled on land between the lake that's named for him and what's now Greenwood Cemetery founded in 1880. Davis was one of three deputy sheriffs appointed about 1871, when there were 97 registered voters in the entire county! In the early 1880s, the area around Lake Davis was a popular spot for the cows to graze that wandered freely throughout the city. Today this is a passive park that has a paved walking path around the lake. Ringing the lake are houses that have a gorgeous view of the water. While visiting I noticed several species of birds enjoying Lake Davis including a Great Blue, an anhinga drying it's wings, and several ducks. This is an ideal place to birdwatch or if you live in the neighborhood, spread a blanket and have a picnic. read more

This is not so much the park in the traditional sense, but rather a sidewalk around a lake. Still it is a pleasant place to walk and seems to be very popular with dog owners. Ultimately, this is a fine place to come if you live in the neighborhood. read more

What an amazing little lakeside area to explore! It's hard not to be jealous of whoever lives next to such a great view. There's parking along the entire path, which circles the water and connects to other parks. From one angle, visitors can even catch sight of our downtown Orlando skyline. There's so much wildlife to see, but the real highlight are the ducks. I've never seen so many in one place before, and I'm very sure they're looked after and well-fed. The community even has multiple duck-crossing signs along the road to keep them safe. The path itself is ideal for runners, bikers, and walkers alike. It's very smooth and has several benches along the way in case you need a break or want to take in the scenery. The ground is pretty sloped off the path, so there isn't room for too many picnics, but you could make it work! read more

This is quite the scenic nature urban park in the downtown Orlando area. The stroll along the lake on the sidewalk gives you views of all the animals on the lake including ducks, swans, geese, anhingas, egrets, and squirrels. It's also in an upscale neighborhood with beautiful homes. read more

This is a nice little park nestled in a pretty neighborhood. There is a paved walking path around the lake with a pretty view of downtown. There's also a lot of ducks, other birds, and turtles around to observe as well as a couple of geocaches that are easy to find. The trees around the lake are also really pretty. Overall, it's a great place to get outside, take a walk, and enjoy the views. read more

This might be a common thread so to speak throughout all my reviews of parks and public spaces. But everytime a sliver or free land, or water is carved out the urban sprawl, it definitely deserves high marks. Lake Davis is unique in so many ways, I really enjoy running around it during my morning runs and I catch the sunrise when I'm coming around the Northwest side of the lake. Not to plug another business in one review but you can always stop by the Mills Market before or after enjoying your run, stroll or visit to this park. The houses around the lake are all pretty unique and interesting which add to the entire experience. read more

Lake Davis park is located in Downtown Orlando, just off of Gore Street in Dulaney Park. The distance around the lake is 0.8 miles and features a completely paved sidewalk around the lake. Parking is as you can find it, streetside (no lot). I've enjoyed walking this lake for years, it's well populated with birds and popular with the surrounding neighborhoods for runners, joggers, walkers, families, people with pups, fishermen, birdwatchers and sunset watchers. It's usually crowded right after work, but the crowds thin out around 7PM, so it's nice to grab in a few laps while the daylight is longer in the spring and summer months. If you have a dog, there are two doggie bag stations on opposite side of the lake and trashcans within close proximity of the stations. read more

A beautiful walking lake park that is a hop, skip, and a jump away from downtown. During my time living over in Delaney Park, my wife and I would often take our dog for a walk around Lake Davis. Located a tad east of the Delaney Park fields, Lake Davis is a beautiful area with a little under a mile of walking path going around the lake. As you are making the walk, you will see lots of fun squirrels and geese running around, as well as plenty of doggie bag stations and friendly people. The area is very safe (pretty sure I've never seen a homeless person on our walks), and the combination of cool houses, majestic trees, and fun decorations around the holidays help make the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Lake Davis is a wonderful part of Delaney Park that provides beautiful scenery and a great walking space. If you live in the area, this is a great spot to add on to your daily dog walk or exercise route. read more

I strolled through this park after dining in at 903 Mills Market to walk off the food and just to enjoy the beautiful scenery and nice weather. It was great. I saw people walking their dogs which was pretty cool for the scenery it is to be. When ever I am in the area, I will be back for a walk to relieve some stress and enjoy some fresh air. Although street parking takes place, it was easy to find a parking spot especially during lunch hours, which saved me time and gave me extra time for my stroll in the park. read more

Lake Davis Park is situated in the middle of THE most historic section of Orlando. With Greenwood Cemetery and Honeymoon row all within walking distance this little lake works great as the epicenter for an amazing neighborhood. This is a great place to take a nice stroll or job with you pup. There is usually an abundance of gorgeous waterfowl all around the lake and even the occasional otter playing near the shore. The lake is surrounded by some of the most beautiful homes in the city, some new but mostly older historic homes. I would highly recommend a nice walk around the lake then strolling over to Mills Market for lunch. You can always cap that off with a trip to Greenwood to explore some of our cities history first hand. Overall this is an amazing jewel in the middle of our greatest neighborhood. I walk my dog around this lake often and run around it every now and then. It's about 0.75 miles and has a nice neighborhood feel. You will often run into other people walking their dogs or exercising. It's really shady thanks to all the trees. I always feel very safe, even late at night, because there are always people walking around and it is in a very safe area. Great place to just sit on a bench and enjoy the outdoors or go for a quick run. read more

I enjoy walking around Lake Davis for exercise. And now that I have a dog, I enjoy it even more. My little guy is a 1 1/2 yr old French Bulldog and he draws attention where ever he goes. I like to walk him early in the morning before I head off to work. With that being said, since I am a female, I am leary of where I go when it's dark. I usually go to this park around 6:00-6:30 am and here a quite a few people out exercising and walking their dogs. I felt completely safe at this hour. There weren't any sketchy looking people just happy fit people and happy pets. The are benches along the way and doggie bad stations to if you forget yours. The view is pretty all around the lake including a picture perfect spot of Downtown Orlando. Right now they are working on the drainage lines on Summerlin so part of the side walk is closed but you can still go around the entire lake no problem. read more

I live only a few blocks from this gorgeous lake situated in the Delaney Park area of Orlando. I often take my two pups for walks around it. They love going around and sniffing out the other pups by the lake with their owners. Everyone we've met while on walk has been super friendly. Of course I've noticed that most people in our neighborhood are super friendly. The lake is also perfect for a quick jog a few times around or for strolling around after brunch or dinner at neighborhood favorite, 903 Mills Market. read more

Lake Davis park is a beautiful small park in a very nice neighborhood. The small lake is almost perfectly round and makes a great centerpiece for the park. It is popular with walkers, joggers, and folks walking their dogs. I like to enjoy it by riding my bicycle around it a few times and taking in the sights. read more

This is my favorite place to walk. Come here to have a picnic or just walk the dogs! It's one of the nicest places to walk in downtown and it's not busy like Lake Eola. There is also Cherokee park right near by that is an impromptu dog park. Love this place. read more

Lake Davis Park is a great place to walk your dog. Unfortunately there's lots of construction going on on Summerlin, but You can still walk around the circle and check out the beautiful lake. There's also lots of birds and it's just a nice environment. There's lots of parking and there's always joggers and other people walking as well so although it's a public place it's not too crowded but also it's not deserted. read more

The perfect place for a sunset stroll, or a jog if you prefer! Lake Davis is surrounded by huge live oaks and beautiful historic homes (along with a few newer McMansions) in one of the nicest and most varied neighborhoods in Orlando. It's well lit in the evenings, and the neighborhood is generally quite safe and well patrolled. There are wading birds and waterfowl of all sorts here; egrets, herons, ibis, several species of ducks (including adorable wooduck families), anhinga, osprey, and a couple of loud-yet-friendly geese who will gently take food from anyone's hand (all honk, no bite)! Swans, pelicans, otters, bald eagle, and owls can also sometimes be seen, so bring your camera! Lake Davis is an easy walk to Lake Cherokee, which is also surrounded by beautiful historic homes, and Lake Greenwood, as well as the historic Greenwood cemetery (home of the Greenwood eagle's nest), and the ever popular Mills Market cafe. read more
