I love this library for its outdoor seating. Not a whole bunch of tables out there, but a few for when the weather is appropriate. I enjoy bringing my laptop and getting some work done outside. However, no plugs to charge your electronics in the outdoor area. read more

Overall not the biggest library, however it still gets the job done. We mainly come here for the kids and they have a great variety and books and activities for them, which keeps them busy for a quite a while. The library itself is very clean and quiet, the staff are helpful and nice (especially to the kids). The parking does get crowded and it does get very difficult to find a spot. The only issue here is that it's close to the park and it does have some homelessness but again overall safe. Great place to come to, to get some peace and quiet and let the kids explore. read more

Absolutely LOVED our experience here! I brought my 11 mo old - I've never seen a library with such a great array of play-stations for babies, toddlers and beyond. Super clean. Well organized. And the librarians are SO kind and cool!!! I can't wait to bring him back. read more

We love our local library. We have been joining the reading challenges with our kids using the app beanstalk and also participated in their story time live- pre- Covid and online. The children's librarian has recommended great books for my kids. We enjoy that the have a nice spanish book section. Since we do homeschooling and I teach virtually we regularly put books on hold and can just do a pick up- so convenient. I'm able to plan for both and have the books I need, when they aren't available we do e-books that work just as well for us. read more

I love our local library, brought my son here yesterday after school. Nothing like getting a jumpstart on the semester and preparing him for a successful school year. Plenty of tables and space to lay out school work, friendly staff & knowledgeable librarians. We took home two books, I didn't have my library card but the gentleman that helped me was super cool and just needed my ID. Found out I owe a couple bucks which wasn't too embarrassing, I only had my bank card so he said I could just pay next time. Lol.. Only con would be the transients in the area, which I know the library has no control over, but they like to linger. There was a cholo using the computer who received a call yesterday. Took a while for the staff to tell him to quite down. I thought it was funny, a few other patrons were irritated. All in all, great location, plenty of parking, always different events happening or being promoted, Discovery Cube is right next door. read more

This library needs new staff. The long blond hair guy with glasses in the front doesn't know how to tell you how to get to the copy machine that's hidden in the back, couldn't even offer to walk me over just said "I don't know yea I'm sorry it's down there." The girl at the information desk in the middle of the library stated the copier was in the front and then said she was unfamiliar with the library. She looked for the copy machine herself, more than what the douche did in the front which I appreciated but why is she working there when she doesn't know the library? My mom sent me in for her and I'm glad because she would have been so lost and good thing I know how to use the machine. I was just laughing but better customer service is needed. I love the Library now taking great-grandaughter there. Used to go to a library on Vermont Ave,near Slauson in LA, then to Pacoima Branch on Van Nuys Blvd., now to Lakeview Terrace, 2 blocks from home. Everyone is so nice. Most people are studying, but there are few kids there. I worry about the library. They give away books; they loan out science kits, arrange to work with entire school classes, help people get a HS Diploma. It's a wonerful service. I just wish more kids were there! read more

I had driven by this library so many times but never checked it out...until today. I walked in and applied for a library card. The lady at the main entrance was very friendly and helpful. The library in general seemed pretty organized. It was quiet and everyone seemed to be doing their thing. I had trouble finding a book and asked for help at the info desk. The guy seemed annoyed that I had interrupted his reading with my request for help. (Excuse me for asking you to work while on your job!) Right away he asked if I was sure I knew this particular book was at this library and I told him I had checked online. He didn't seem to believe me and checked for himself just to see I was right. He reluctantly got up and helped me look for the book. Once he found it he quickly handed it to me, briskly walked away and plopped himself at his seat again. He was rude. Talk about no customer service! sheesh! I was disappointed to see the grafitti in the restroom given this library is pretty new. Overall the place is ok. Just your basic library, nothing out of the ordinary. read more

Lake View Terrace has a nice environmentally-friendly library (LEED certified platinum!! a.k.a. the highest certification you can get from the US government) built (as mentioned in Tricia M's review) on the spot that had the bar from Terminator 2 and at the intersection where Rodney King was beaten by the LAPD which later lead to the LA Riots in '92. The library is pleasant and my only complaint would be that I wish you were allowed to read in the courtyard area. Also the electric vehicle charging stations in front are broken and non-electric cars park in those spots. read more

Clean and nice staff but low selection of books and the parking lot is terrible, more than half of the spots are compact size.

I would drive by this building a thousand times a day on my way to work and didn't even notice it. Its a smaller library but everything is organized, clean, and new. It was quiet when I visited and I was able to sit at a table and read. Magazine selection was good and fiction selection, just okay. Next time I'm here, I will make an attempt to check something out. read more

This has been my go to library for years. Very Clean inside. Never any trouble with the parking. The book drop off is perfect also. There is a playground in walking distance. They have great programs for kids. Ex: summer reading program and reading logs for kids. right around the corner from my house so convenient for me. I choose this library over the Pacoima branch. That one get crowded. This traffic in this one is always mellow. The online catalog is very accurate. The hold system works perfectly. The hold shelfs are right in front next to check out. If you can't find a book,DVD you can always have them fetch it from another library where it's available and the librarians are very sweet and always helpful. Very present and a peaceful family reading at this branch. read more

I been coming to this library for almost 5 years now. Every single time a middle aged Hispanic helper is there, she tells my daughters they are being too loud. This last time, 3 older females using the computers by the children books were talking loudly and laughing, but yet this lady comes up to my kids and tells them they are playing too loud with the blocks. Then why have toys if they can't play with them? My daughters were not even talking! It is only when this lady is there, I never had a problem before and in two other circumstances I have seen her tell kids they are being too loud when they are not. If you have kids, I don't recommend this library not unless you don't bring them. read more

Nice library it's quieter than the others in the area plus librarians are nice and friendly I recommend this place for studying might want to bring earplugs in case it gets too noisy and make sure your phone and laptop are fully charged because most of the outlets are blown. read more

I love the library. The library is right next to the park so right after you check out your book you can go and read it under a tree or something. The staff here is friendly and attentive. You will run into a lot of young people here. They have a large selection of books for kids. They also have books on tape. The unfortunate thing about the books on tape is that they do have a section for audio books. But I think that they are only fiction and then the rest meaning nonfiction as in autobiography, how to, and such you have to find mixed in with the other books. Its okay no biggie. They have a drop off box in front of the library for after hours. You will run into the occasional homeless guy from time to time while you're there. They do have accessible parking. I've never had a hard time finding parking here. It is clean inside. read more

so this is a fairly new installment attributed to LA literary renovation. i spent many a day here toiling my time away why i was laid off...actually i was pretty much all over LA County using whatever resources were available. this particular location stands out since it was built over the bar that was in the movie 'terminator'...or so i was told. but seriously, this is a pretty cute location to read over a few fasion mags and health books. i was originally trying to comment on the pacoima branch...it bums me out that people from my 'hood complain about not having nice buildings or companies coming into the area...and when they do...they're written on. this punk-ass, loser kid was writing on the asphalt right in the parking lot of the pacoima library with white shoe polish...juding by the way he was dressed, i was pretty sure he could afford a pen and paper. come on gente...be proud of your surroundings... read more
