Parking is spacious but I did sadly see the charging stations that they used to have here have been permanently disconnected but the machine part is still there. Maybe some day they will bring them back as they were convenient though slow. Inside staff was very friendly and assisted me with finishing the set up for my new card. It only took 5 minutes and now I have my card! I can't wait to start using Libby. I then walked around browsing the aisles and I found a wide selection of different languages which I thought was awesome. There's also plenty of study tables and many public computers. On leaving I looked around the park. I was really pleased because the grass looks nice and green and no foxtails! I saw someone playing with their dog in the field and this made me realize this is a great place to bring my dog to do some training and it's close to me. I know some people may think of librarians as a specific "type" of person (older, glasses, not that friendly) but she could have been working at a boutique for all I know. She made sure I got everything I needed - went back and forth multiple times and was all smiles. The location isn't in the best area as it's right across from the Van Nuys Courthouse, so there are some homeless or mentally unstable individuals especially at night. The parking lot is diagonal to the library so you have to walk through from the side - but there are a lot of parking spots though. Inside, it's very clean, spacious, and well kept. Big areas for children's books and children-only tables, and counter-like tables for adults lining the outer ends of the library facing out with outlets if you're using a laptop. Highly recommend coming by here, public libraries are a great service for everyone and the two I've been to have been nothing short of exceptional.

We came when they just open so there wasn't a lot of people inside. They have a security guard watching the entrance and he was nice. The kids area is right when you walk inside on the left. They have some toys for the kids to play with but no toys for like toddlers or infants. I just showed my daughter the different books the library has and did some light reading to her.

I go their pretty frequently, but not that often. It is close to home and when I need to get some work done of any kind, I need peace and quiet; since you can't do much at home. Too much distraction from neighbors and every day life. I need to address some highlights to certain things that gets my attention. First and foremost, I would like to describe the beauty of the architecture of this building. It is very well curated in a very unique way with white, beautiful flowers all around the building and parking lot. Inside is very CLEAN, bright, lit, with high ceilings. It has plenty of room to move around, lots and lots of tables/chairs, a separate room for children's section, an information desk, lots of computers with free WI-FI, shelves are very nicely organized with all types of books. Fiction, non fiction and other types of books.They have a full rack of MAGAZINES in the back, but YOU CAN ONLY USE THEM INSIDE THE LIBRARY! Can't check them out. An easy check out system by their employees, and they are pretty fast and quick. Employees are very nice, helpful and friendly. I have to mention them by their names. Not in any particular order: Brian, Devin, Dominique, Vince, Lupe, Kim, Kristine, and there was a lady by the name of Maureen that no longer works there. ALL SUPER HELPFUL whenever you need anything! I not only like to go and work there, do some paperwork, write bills, organize miscellaneous things etc...I also like to rent DVD's from this library, books, and if you request a movie or a book and they don't have it on the shelf, the process is SEAMLESS. You tell them what you need, and they will get it for you within a week and place it on their HOLD shelf, email or call you that the items are ready to be picked up. Has an ample size parking lot, clean restrooms for boys and girls, and a water fountain to fill up your bottle. What more can one ask for?? Recently, we had our Sweet Granddaughter for a day together. We started out by checking out a…read morecommunity festival at Pierce College. Then as the weather was drifting into May Gray coolness, we wanted to go to the Chatsworth Library for some indoor quiet time. That branch was closed at the time, having renovations on their HVAC systems. It wasn't that far to get to Northridge, so we checked out that location. We found a convenient parking place, then a clean restroom inside. Then it was time to visit the children's section in the back corner. What a delightful time for 6 year-old SG. She was in reading heaven. She browsed the racks, picked out several books at a time, then found various places to snuggle up with her finds. Dear Hubby happily found the magazines and started reading on his own. There are tables and chairs, and also computer desks near the kids' area, so we could be close, but give SG her space. I was checking work email for a while, and then Yelp reviews. The layout and design features of the children's section are very charming and create a cozy atmosphere. SG was excited to learn that she could have her parents get her a library card so that she'd be able to check out a certain number of books and take them home for a time. A library fan is born! I told her about when I was a kid on the first day of summer vacation I would ride my bike across town to the library and come home with a basket of books to read. That was my ritual throughout the start of the summertime. Read, read, read. Go for a swim, get something to eat, then read some more. Simpler times!

I'm well versed in all their methods because I've been subjected to them. These techniques are being used too often. They are too practiced and methodical. There's a stark contrast in culture compared to neighboring public libraries. The supervisor is a Karen. She has hand picked staff that are supportive of her behavior. She had trained them to coordinate her oppressive protocols. I will document all actions taken against me: be they open or covert. I will voice them publicly and at local city council meetings. The library belongs to the people. The library of all places should be inclusive. There are kind library ushers Working at this library Who are more suitable administrators. MEREDITH, the branch manager, was extremely helpful, friendly, and informative. She went way above and beyond to help me out - literally saving my day. NOTE: The remote printing service and wifi cuts out a few minutes before closing - get here at least 20 minutes before! Library is extremely clean, well organized, and has everything you may need plus more (computer access, printing). I have an eCard but wanted a physical one - the other nice lady with glasses helped me and it took less than 5 minutes. The staff look like they actually want to be there and will do what they can for whatever you may need!

There are rows and rows of picture books with a built in children's book reading nook and story time corner. Then it expands to chapter books with the difficulty increasing as you walk away from the picture book section. With your regular libary card you can borrow a book for 3 weeks. If the books you borrowed aren't being requested by someone else it will auto renew on its own up to 3 times. If it is being requested you get notified via your email that is linked to the account. Libraries are the best, especially this one with plenty of parking in the back.
