Although the doctors here may be good (I can't say honestly), the way you are treated by the office for starters doesn't feel right. It took so long just to get an appt., then it was cancelled that day. Had to go far across to another town to get another appt much later, and the appt. just felt rushed, among other things that we found disappointing but are declining to mention here. I can't imagine entrusting my healthcare to a place I felt disrespected. Won't be back. read more

I'm beyond frustrated with this clinic. 3 months ago I had my first appointment, where they referred me to an ultrasound. That test result came back abnormal, suggesting an arterial blockage (I'm a healthy 44-year old, so this was concerning to me especially given the extreme leg pain I've been experiencing.) I had a follow-up visit scheduled to review these results, which they called day-of to cancel. The next appointment they could get me into was 2 months later. So I took that. This morning (day of my appointment), they called again to reschedule. I feel completely uncared for. Is this arterial blockage dangerous? Why is it happening? Who knows?? Nobody in this office cares enough to talk to me about this, and I'm left with leg pain and the knowledge that I have SOME type of blockage but no follow-up or guidance. I'm totally on my own. read more

Prices originally quoted were wrong and I had to pay way more. Was told wrong info by receptionist. Doctor who no longer works there told me a venaseal procedure would fix my vein problem and it made it 100% worse and they basically said oh well no guarantees! Would not recommend this office. read more

2nd review for me since things have changed for the worse regarding scheduling appts. from last visit 3.5 yrs ago. They received my provider's referral a week ago and still no ph call to set up appt! I called 2 days after referral was sent to confirm they received it. Yes they did and said it takes 3 days b4 they call you. Will probably have to drop by to get the ball rolling. Unfortunately this is the way it is in many specialty clinics these days since they are not patient oriented. read more

Got one heck of a run around from this place. After my wife's PCP referred her to this clinic, we followed up with the clinic and got directed to the referral desk. Despite leaving several messages, we were unable to get a response. Finally, after a week of trying we got through and after talking about the issues at hand got an appointment on the books, along with a promise to follow up with us regarding some additional questions about the visit that we had. Well, that follow up never happened and finally we called back in. They had dropped the appointment off their books because we were out of network. This issue had been discussed during the initial call and we were going to be paying cash. The person we talked to at this time now informed us that paying cash would be illegal! After asking what law it was that made this illegal, we got the manager. She informed us that it was NOT illegal and that they would be happy to see my wife. Great, so we got another appointment on the books. At this time, the manager also told us how badly her front desk staff had screwed this up. Made excuses about how they were all new, and didn't know what to do. Judging from other reviewers, this hardly seems like a new problem at this clinic, as it has been going on for years. Two days later, they send us an email informing us that they won't see us because... out of network. Despite telling them that we would pay cash, they just kicked the proverbial can (MY WIFE) down the road. In fact, they referred us BACK to a vascular clinic we had originally been seen at! The whole REASON we were talking with them was because we were told they were excellent and we needed a 2nd opinion on my wife's very unusual and complicated vascular case. Terrible experience, cannot recommend this group at all. And, according to the communication we received, it was the doctor (Reinhardt) who told them to show us the door. What kind of physician refuses to see a patient who comes to them, cash in hand, desperately seeking a 2nd opinion and sends them back the way they came? One who does not care about people, only about convenience. And that's the worst kind of doctor you'd ever want looking after you. read more

My mom has been passed off from one speciality to another for the last few weeks trying to narrow down/figure out what may be happening and causing her all her discomfort. After meeting with several different doctors and obtaining every scan and work up ever imaginable she was referred to Lake Washington Vascular where she was seen by Dr. Gibson. Although we didn't get the news we would have preferred regarding her health and condition, Dr. Gibson provided more info and most importantly gave my mom the sense of confidence and reassurance she needed to keep moving forward. Dr. Gibson listened and took time to go over everything and made sure we understood before sending us off. read more

Painfully difficult in trying to schedule an appointment here. Called several times and after finally getting through the system to speak with somebody, I was told I would be called back by their scheduler. It has been a day and a half and have not heard back from their scheduler. read more

Update. Despite the initial sub par situation I described earlier. They went out of their way to apologize and my experience with everyone since has been excellent Was referred to the Bellevue location late afternoon. They confirmed that they knew we were coming and we're going to wait. They were told we were en route. We arrived filled out their paperwork only to be told everyone had gone home and we'd have to go to the ER. Absolutely pathetic. Clearly they don't care for their oatie read more

I have upgraded my rating for Lake Washington Vascular after getting lots of attention on Monday morning from Mary, the nurse practitioner and my vascular surgeon. Things are now good. I would delete my former review but I couldn't find how to do that. My surgeon was great!!! read more

Recently had surgery on my wrist and Dr. Gibson was wonderful. She even took her lunchtime to see me when I had some post-op questions. Great, understandable explanations. Clearly one of the best. read more

I was very disappointed in our visit with Bellevue location. I know we don't always get the answers we want but I thought the Doctor was very unprofessional and complained that my husband didn't like the surgery (who does) & what do you want me to do now since I don't see anyway you can make it. Well the second opinion @ VA Mason was much more helpful I don't recommend this facility. certainly get another opinion before using them read more

Lake Washington Vascular has some of the finest surgeons in the Seattle area! I'm able to reference this not only as a former employee, but also as my mom was a patient. The nurse practitioners spend time with you understanding the core problem and the surgeons are experts in their diagnosis and treatments. I strongly recommend this group for their varicose/spider vein clinic, but also for their ability to treat highly complex and life threatening conditions. read more

I was very impressed with the staff at Lake Washington Vascular in Kirkland WA. I had been dealing with sciatica for a few weeks and mentioned to my PCP that my calf was very painful and leg was a little swollen, she took one look at it and immediately called Lake WA Vascular to have them see me for a possible blood clot, this was at 4:45pm on a Friday! They were gracious enough to see me right away and confirmed by ultrasound that I indeed have a DVT clot in my left leg. The ARNP consulted with me as well as Dr. Ferris, fit me for a compression stocking which they had right there in the office and put it on for me, as well as started me immediately on blood thinner called Xarelto, had the samples to go home with. From the front office to the ultrasound tech to the providers, they all made me feel very comfortable and truly concerned for my well-being, I am very thankful for them and would recommend that anyone needing vein care go and see them! read more

do not go here. i went for an initial consult to see if this was something i wanted to do. they tried to make me do an ultrasound which i didn't feel was necessary given my small spider veins and they agreed but i still got a bill for $227 that i now have to call and deal with. total scam artists! read more

Lake Washington Vascular went above and beyond in accepting my husbands referral and treating a potentially deadly carotid blockage. Our primary doctor sent his records and tests after business hours - LWV responded immediately and not only setting up an appointment for the next business day but held surgical time for him three days later. Dr Kathleen Gibson addressed my husband's genetic blood clotting abnormality prior to and after the surgery. She spent time with us explaining, in terms we could understand, all the expected outcomes, potential risks, side effects, recovery time, and pre and post surgical activities to be expected, then she allowed us time to question her. Before and after surgery she met with the family, she even brought the blockage that was removed to see before sending it to pathology - Amazing. We couldn't be more pleased with Dr Gibson and the staff at Lake Washington Vascular. We travelled 210 miles round trip to be treated by Dr Gibson and it was the right decision. read more

This place is amazing! My parents are both retired from the medical profession so their care standards are extremely high. Right before the holidays, my mum needed to be seen with some urgency but schedules were tight (because this place is popular for good reason) and they only had openings in a newer, distant (Seattle) office. As we were trying to figure out logistics, Dr. Ferris stepped in and volunteered to squeeze her into his patient load the next day in a closer locale, easing our transportation burden. His professional yet warm nature won us all over from the start. In fact, the entire staff is wonderful. Special shout out to Ashley - ultrasound extraordinaire who has one of the most outstanding patient skills I have ever witnessed. A clear 5 star experience. read more

Dr. Pepper is a wonderful person and very talented surgeon. He was thorough in explaining each step of the varicose vein procedure, why it was necessary and expected outcomes. He spent time getting to know me and my family, and was awesome in coaching me through my anxiety about the procedure. Outside of the medical assistant who could not place an IV after four attempts (y'ouch!), and a bit more pain than I would have liked to feel during and after the procedure, I highly recommend Dr. Pepper for varicose vein surgery. He has a heart of gold and wants to do right by his patients. read more

I'll start off by saying that I really liked doctor, nurse practitioner, and ultrasound technician that I spoke with during my visits. That's why I'm still giving 3 stars. The problem that I have is with their pushing of third party providers for medical devices, and extremely rude office staff. I was told that I should get compression socks because most insurances want to see that you have tried them before they'll okay a procedure. They let me know that they had socks on hand there, and hey could just fill the "prescription". It seemed like an easy thing to do, so I said yes. When I got the $77 bill for a pair of socks, I was surprised. I hadn't remembered the nurse practitioner saying anything about a third party provider, but when I received a call back regarding my inquiry, I was rather rudely reminded that when I got the socks they made me sign paperwork stating that it was a third party provider. While this jogged my memory, I was still surprised that, while Lake Washington Vascular is in my provider network, the third party, Nurturing Expressions LLC, was not. I'm sure this isn't unheard of, but it would have been extremely appreciated if they had checked networks before filling the order. Also, the socks were very overpriced- I found the same socks online for $50 or less, shipped. While $50 still feels high for a pair of socks, I would still rather pay the out of network provider cost on that instead of the $77. Another thing that bothered me was that I couldn't get a dollar amount of how much the procedure on my leg would be, but they wanted me to schedule the procedure right then. This is information that they are able to get from the insurance company, and calculate. I will not be utilizing their services. I guess it's a lesson learned. read more

Great doctor and wonderful staff. I saw Dr. Ferris for some vein issues. I had three different procedures, so I've kind of gone through it all. Dr. Ferris was great. Patient with answering my many questions, detailed and thorough in his work and even more concerned about the outcome than me. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They schedule appointments with plenty of time so I never felt rushed. The nurse called back promptly when I had a question. I'm impressed. read more

I recently had a 15-minute cosmetic sclerotherapy (spider vein) consultation at Lake Washington Vascular. I also had consultations at two nearby plastic surgeons offices, neither of which charged me for the consultations. Since my first consultation was at LWV and I was not yet savvy to cosmetic procedure pricing (plastic surgeons do not generally charge for consultations since the patient is paying out of pocket for the procedure), I didn't think twice when they asked for my insurance information. I decided not to have the procedure performed at LWV because they were several hundred dollars more than the plastics for the same amount of time. I then received a bill for a not insignificant amount of money from LWV for the consultation. Apparently, LWV bills your insurance for this consultation like a specialist office visit. So, depending upon your plan/deductible, you could end up paying hundreds more for sclerotherapy here than at other physicians' offices. This is something I wish I had known at the outset. (When I asked LWV to cancel the charge since I received no value from the consultation, they refused on the basis that I had voluntarily given them my insurance information.) LWV's practitioners may provide good service, but its overall pricing for cosmetic sclerotherapy is above market cost and something to be weighed by informed patients. read more
