I can still remember having the best time during college tubing down the river with friends, the proverbial cooler tied onto one of the guy's tubes. It was great way to spend a lazy, hot Saturday in the south. An added bonus was that it was free and it was rather fun waving at the people fishing on the shoreline or driving across the bridge. I think the area has opened up for more activies since my college years. There is a lot to see between the river, trees, birds, and other trail visitors. Super easy to park around the businesses near the Pumphouse and then set off. As we were coming back, there were people putting kayaks into the water, also some folks in the water doing some fishing. Overall a great option for getting out into nature. Everything is paved and there some some well maintained wooden bridges to cross. Wide enough for two way traffic and benches a lot the way for breaks.

The gentleman who helped us was very kind and gave us a map of the trail and grounds. There are picnic tables and benches around. The trail is very easy to walk. There are steps along the way. I have a bad knee, but nothing was very strenuous. The trail is lined with a creek that makes it's way to the falls. There are two different spots to have different views and take photos. I found being here very peaceful. The weather was a bit chilly and very windy otherwise I would've loved to sit there longer. Really important bit of info..... there are no restrooms available so use the facilities somewhere if you need to before arriving. I would recommend visiting! It's been on my list for a while.
