I recently relocated and needed a dermatologist south of the river. I called Lakes Dermatology first after seeing their great reviews. They were booked almost two months out, but I was able to secure a cancellation appointment and was seen the week after I called! From the outside, Lakes Dermatology is unsuspecting. It looks very industrial. The second you walk in however, you're in a brand new, gorgeous facility. The lobby is bright and white with comfy modern furniture. The person who helped me at the desk was very friendly and I was able to complete all my paperwork in advance. I was a little early, but only waited about 10 minutes to be seen. Dr. Ahmed was great! She listened well, asked good questions, and took my concerns seriously. She was super helpful when I asked for skin product recommendations, giving me both budget friendly options I could buy anywhere and some products that they sold in-house. Had a tiny wart or growth examined and which Dr froze off in short order. Returned month or two later for follow up. Was treated again (in the office less than 5 mins total). Rcvd bill for double the cost of initial visit. Was told insurance did not pay for the follow up. Because of my gigantic deductible I instructed not to submit to insurance- so shocked a) my directions were not followed; b) the ridiculous cost of the follow up; c) to hear insurance paid for portion of my first visit since not possible with my coverage; and receptionist's arrogant attitude. Docs seem great but there are much better choices than this place. read more

I give the practice side of the business a 5, Dr. Ahmed is fantastic. I have been dealing with skin cancer for years and have paid their office thousands and thousands of dollars for the many treatments and procedures I have gone through. But looking at the business as a whole, their billing department's threats and harassments even on a small amount and when you continue to make payments is unbelievable. I had something that looked like a cyst examined, and was given a very honest assessment. I was advised the best option was to not engage with any procedures, and to leave things as they are unless I experience pains or irritation. The reasoning was, it could come back, and I'd be right back where I started, but with a scar as well. The bill was about $19, and I appreciate that they didn't see me as a walking dollar sign. What a bunch of hypocrits and liars. They require all to where masks, vascinated or not. Yet half a dozen of their own staff not wearing them and walking around everyone. 1st 3 questions on form, (1) Have you been vacinated for covid? (2) Have you had covid? Date you were infected? What do these questions have to do with checking for moles? When asked about they said the Federal Gov requires this information, that is lie #1. When asked about the mask policy, said they are folllowing CDC guidelines. Lie #2. CDC has not reuired masks sinc I believe June of 2021. When I told the Dr this, she said, "Well you are able to go any where you like." She is right, I will not be going to Lakes Dermatology again. read more

Very expensive. Almost $200.00 to remove one lesion. I was told that since I had Medicare that it would be covered but that was not the case. When I called about the billing, they said that amount was for removing up to 14 lesions. Had I known that I would have had more removed. Poor communication and far too expensive. read more

Lakes performed laser hair removal and chemical peel on my husband's face. This was one of the best experiences he has encountered from a dermatologist. He said his skin looked like a beautiful glazed donut and he cannot wait to come back. I was impressed by his review because he is often not excited about the quality levels of dermatologist. I was trying to get an appointment for a different clinic in Savage but they didn't have an opening for over a month. That's when I found Lakes Dermatology. I was able to call and get an appointment for the next day! Everyone was really friendly. Once I filled out the requisite paperwork and got into the office, Dr. Amhed was right in. She brought in a small team, asked a few questions and got right to work. Everything went efficiently, I was out of there in no time at all. This is my favorite dermatology clinic for so many reasons. I came to see Dr. Lietch regarding my hormonal acne and from the moment I stepped into the clinic, everything was a great experience. The clinic itself is bright and open. The front desk staff are proficient - I have always had ease with scheduling, no billing errors, and they are very helpful and friendly. These factors may seem obvious to some, but if you go to a clinic that is lacking in one (or god forbid all three), you notice the difference in quality quickly. My appointment wasn't delayed and Dr. Lietch was very thorough and knowledgeable in finding the correct treatment. I also appreciate that she didn't try to up sell me with fancy products, but instead gave products that were affordable and could be covered by insurance. Last, when I had a question about a reaction to my treatment, Erica (the nurse) was helpful, fast, and very thorough as to what I should do. 5/5! Loved my experience here and it is the only place I will go to now. read more

I went to Lake Dermatology to have some moles removed. My doctor recommended sending all 3 moles in for biopsy and reassured me that it was covered by insurance. 2 months later I receive a bill of $750+ for the cost of this procedure. I would not have had the moles sent in if I had been aware of the cost and didn't feel good about paying that bill today. read more

The receptionists at this clinic are rude. They have poor customer service skills despite this being their only job. They rarely if ever answer the phones and seem to have an attitude when checking clients in. If you lack people skills maybe find a different job. How hard can it be to check people in for a living? They bring the clinic down as a whole. read more

I'll start by saying that I don't write many reviews. But my experience with Lakes Dermatology merited it. I was impressed with the responsiveness when I called and was able to get in quickly. The front desk staff person was friendly and helpful - I had a number of questions about the procedure and what happens, and she was great. The space feels new & modern. Unlike a lot of medical clinics, there are big windows & a lot of light. And Dr. Ahmed had excellent bedside manner - she explained everything in detail, and was both professional & warm. My sis recommended Lakes Derm (she goes to their Minnetonka office) Everyone was friendly and Dr. Ahmed answered all my questions. My appointment was on time and efficient but I didn't feel like I was rushed because she answered every single question. For moms/future moms out there there were kids in the waiting room so I'm guessing the doctors see kids too. Tons of parking near front door (What? That's a big deal in the winter!) read more

I had seen Dr. Ahmed when she was with another clinic a couple months before she opened her own clinic. I had mentioned I would like some small cosmetic application for some sun spots. She told me I could go through her new clinic and have it done for $100. Not a full clinic visit. However after paying for the cosmetic application , I received a bill for a CLINIC visit... AN additional $126. I was told it was because she wrote an RX for a refill on my facial cream that it was like a clinic visit. She never checked my skin or did anything else besides the spray for some age spots. I would not have been due for a clinic visit. I highly recommend you VERY SPECIFICALLY ask what you be charged for ANYTHING she may do for you including ordering a refill prescription. Very disappointing!
