In fact, because of our history, we expected both outstanding carpentry and very little stress. Planning the project with Jeremy and Lauren Milligan, his design associate, made the decision making of the design process far less intimidating. The team's consistent communication was impressive! Living two hours away from our townhouse, we were delighted to receive daily status reports containing project videos and photos. Every Thursday at 2:30, Jason would initiate a Zoom meeting, during which he would provide a comprehensive project report, show us his progress, and ask our opinion! During every weekly Zoom meeting, Jason requested a positive and a negative comment. Although we were sorry to disappoint him, we never could share a negative. Furthermore, he would occasionally call to ask for our preference on the position of a knob, to clarify the color of the fireplace trim, etc. The quality of his work and that of the subcontractors was excellent. However, excellence did not come as a surprise. In all our Lighthouse projects, the professionalism, attention to detail, commitment to quality, and pride of the team were obvious! Furthermore, in all the projects that Lighthouse has completed for us, we noticed not only the congeniality of the crew but also their admiration for Jeremy. Remarkably, every member of the team shared a dedication to quality work, but they were also respectful, approachable, and considerate of each other and us. I began with our expectations; quite frankly, the Lighthouse team has consistently exceeded our expectations. Once again, they completed our project on time and on budget! After watching Jeremy install all our windows five years ago, watching Cody rebuild our deck and porch three years, and watching Jason and Bill completely rebuild our townhouse this spring, we are in an excellent position to recommend Lighthouse Contracting Group without reservation!

Shawn Knox of A&M Plumbing and Heating decided to take our money and rip us off. We paid him up…read morefront (half which is standard) for work on Jan. 13th and as of today, Feb. 21 we could not get him to do the work. He constantly made excuses and now he has apparently (?) disconnected his A&M Plumbing and Heating phone. We will be pursuing a legal case against him. Not a good man, nor a man of integrity. Stay away

Shawn does fantastic work. Our bathroom toilet surprised us one morning by spewing water all over…read morethe floor. It started leaking into the basement. I reached out to a buddy who owns a construction company in dover because he knows lots of contractors and I didnt want to get ripped off. He recomend a&m emphatically. In a few hours shawn was able to diagnose the problem, swap a few parts, and do some custom welding. I was expecting to hear that this would cost thousands, and be a major overhaul. He thought outside the box, saved me a ton of money, didnt try to upsell or drag it out.

Wonderful job by Curtis and his team. We had an incomplete kitchen missing cabinets and an island…read morethat didn't work and Curtis was able to match the cabinetry and finish. Curtis is very professional and a pleasure to work with. He provided lots of great ideas that expanded our original intent into the kitchen that works for us. Beware of summer resident price gouging. I recently got a quote from Curtis Zarse and it was three…read moretimes higher than any quote I received from the several woodworkers I interviewed and received bids from. When I questioned the amount of the proposal Mr. Zarse got angered and stormed off. PS: he charged me over $3,000 just to prepare a proposal on paper with pictures on a CAD. He basically charged me for 50 hours of labor for a PROPOSAL! This guy is a rip off artist and a diva.

I hired Kevin to build an attached two bay garage with room above for future apartment and mud…read moreroom. Kevin was handed nothing more than rough layman sketches and a photo of a similar setup. He had to figure out the heights, transitions, stairs, and blend to the existing house. He always showed up on time and exceeded expectations in his delivery. He was a very good communicator throughout the project. The final product is outstanding and looks like it was always there. We get so many compliments. I would not hesitate to hire or recommend Kevin Day. Note: Eric Gallagher of Gallagher Construction partnered with Kevin on my project. I will be leaving a similar review under his business. The owner of the company has been checked into rehab leaving my project that I paid for unfinished…read moreand exposed to the elements. Darrin constantly over promised and lied about the project from the start and then disappeared leaving the work site a mess, unfinished, and tools outside in the rain. I only found out about what happened after I was put in contact with his father to come pick up his trailer and tools from my property. I'm out thousands of dollars and stuck scrambling to find others to complete my garage as the winter and bad weather are upon us. I hope Darrin is able to recover and get better but this has been a horrible experience filled with lies and stress. I would not suggest hiring this company unless it is under different management, and even then do not pay any money up front.
