I had a injury to my mouth and decided to come to Lakeshore for cosmetic dental work and this has been the worst decision I have made. I had a real bad infection and Dr. Amari did not do an x-ray until he noticed my mouth would not get numb which is very DANGEROUS. Dr. Amari gave me some antibiotics and rescheduled my appointment and we had the same situation to happen again today. He begin giving me injections and I couldn't get numb again, instead of him doing x-ray when I came in to make sure my mouth was complete. I was in the dental chair screaming due to pain and he finally did another x-ray.. Having an infection is so dangerous and can kill you. 'My DENTAL NIGHTMARE' AT DR Mash Ameri's Q Dental & Lakeshore Cosmetic Dentistry My nightmare started when I went into Q Dental office to find out the cost of cleaning and whitening my teeth. The Receptionist said DR Ameri would see me & give me the prices after checking my teeth. DR Ameri told me that I would have to do much more then just cleaning & whitening my teeth. He said I had a teeth-grinding problem & that the bridges I had for over 20 years, should be changed. I told him that I had no problem with them & I did not think it was necessary. DR Ameri, assistant & his wife the owner of Q Dental office, convinced me without explaining the cons of the procedures by showing me many videos & pictures of how it would change my life and smile if I agreed to DR Ameri suggestions. DR Ameri then convinced me to have veneers on my upper and lower front teeth, and then crowns - even though grinding/clenching teeth are not good candidates for veneers. It was the start of a painful dental nightmare that cost a small fortune. DR Ameri mentioned that SPRINGSTONE PATIENT FINANCING & CARE CREDIT would help me with the expenses of all the procedures. DR Ameri suggested he start with the work of my bridges which lasted a few months till I could be able to eat on that side. A few months later, the right lower side bridge came off for the 5th time! I was on a flight to India for 3 weeks so could not do anything until I got back. I messaged DR Ameri he was apologetic and said he would fix it when I got back. Not to forget me being presented with a new bill every time. DR Ameri's excuses were never ending. It was a treatment I didn't need and I didn't really want. A treatment that left me in agony. A treatment that had to be re-done, over and over again costing thousands of dollars, hundreds of sleepless nights and countless hours of unbearable pain. I remember the screeching of the drill, the smell of burnt flesh mixed with the sickening scent of blood, my blood. I remember the sympathetic face of the dental assistant who held the suction hose as the dentist juggled inside my anaesthetized mouth. And even more painful is the memory of taking advantage of a 10-minute break to look at myself in the mirror. Behind my inflamed face I could see that all my front teeth were suddenly gone. Instead, I had tiny vampire-like cones. I was numb with shock - shock that I had been so tremendously stupid to listen and believe DR Ameri when he told me that it was like false nails. This was just the last of a chain of unnecessary procedures, disguised by my dentist as essential treatment for "badly worn" teeth. First he had attached veneers to six front top and bottom teeth. Then, when these kept breaking, he suggested crowns - which he described as similar but more resistant. Stupidly, I hadn't asked enough questions, and hadn't realised my natural teeth would now be reduced to Dracula stumps. But not only was the procedure unnecessary (all I needed was a mouth guard to stop me grinding my teeth in my sleep) it turned out DR Ameri wasn't up to the job. Over the last few years I have repeatedly needed problems fixed to repair my veneer. I've had to have many of my crowns replaced - and those on my upper front teeth countless times. If you haven't had to undergo this, you won't know that it is unimaginably hard to break a porcelain tooth - it is an arm-wrestle between the dentist and the crown inside your mouth. You just lie there. Humble. Silent. Waiting for the hours to pass. Also, anaesthesia has a shorter effect on my body than on most other people, so I have to have repeated injections - and in between I experience intervals of pain. The pain continues long after leaving the dentist's chair, inside and outside my mouth. I've had to endure persistent aches in my inner ears, jaw, eye sockets and neck, and intense headaches that have lasted for up to two months. I know someone they sued because they didn't have the money to pay at the moment. Another person I know almost went into debt trying to pay for what was "needed". FYI, the first reviewer (Mash A.) is the dentist here, so you might want to take that with a grain of salt. The office staff is nice, and the hygienists are thorough, gentle, and incredibly nice. The dentist, however, will take any opportunity to push costly procedures on his patients. When I finally did give in to have him work on my teeth, he complained about all the other things that "needed" fixing, and, in my opinion, did shoddy work. I will now need to go to another dentist to have the work fixed. I should also mention that his hands were not steady, so even a routine exam would be painful because of how much the instruments would bash into my teeth. If you are looking for a dentist, I would suggest looking elsewhere. read more

I have been to several dentists in my life but Dr. Ameri is the best. Spent most of my life with TMJ which caused a lot of problems with my teeth. My mouth looked like a roller coaster. Nothing was ever in alignment. Dr. Ameri not only fixed a lifetime of jaw clicking and crooked teeth but gave me a great smile in the process. I couldn't ask for a better dentist. My wife and daughter, my brother and his wife and daughter all go to Dr. Ameri. Dr. Ameri does great work. He's fast and good when injecting the novacane. I always hate that part. While out of town I found myself needing emergency dental care. Dr. Ameri was recommended so I called and they were able to get me on the schedule in record time. On the day of my appointment, I was greeted by the most friendly staff. They were all so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. I ended up needing a root canal. This would not be my first so I know the process. Let me just say that Dr.Ameri is an excellent dentist! While working on my tooth he would talk through it. He was teaching/training some new staff and I was so impressed. He also had me watch a few educational videos about some concerns he had for me. Never has any dentist I've seen taken the time to educate the way he does. He truly cares for his patients and it shows through and through. After my dental work was complete, I expected to be in pain for many days following because that's been the norm in the past. Well, that is not the case this time. I experienced zero pain! ZERO!!! I am in awe of this dentist. He knows how to work efficiently while always having the patient's best interest in mind at all times. His office has the most up to date equipment and it's one of the most beautiful and welcoming offices I've had the pleasure of visiting. His staff is amazing and so friendly. Dr. Ameri and his staff are amazing. They give 150% to ensure their clients are satisfied with their results and overall experience. They opened their office twice on a Saturday to accommodate my schedule and Dr. Ameri personally called me later that day to check in on me. Everyone in the office is super pleasant. The hygienist that cleaned our teeth is the only reason they get 2 stars. Customer service is poor from the staff until they realize you have no worry on paying bills then they're somewhat helpful. The fillings Dr. Ameri placed made my wife's sensitivity increase to where she can barely eat anything hot or cold, let alone bite into anything tough. Went back for check up the first time and he blamed it on the muscles being tight. Also keep in mind that the procedure was very painful. Same issue continued with no improvement, went back again and he blamed it on braces we got from next door to them because we weren't about to let him keep getting business from us for poor work. I live in the medical center where there are a plethora of dental offices, but I make the 45 minute drive to see Dr. Ameri. His staff is efficient, professional, and courteous and the amenities are impeccable. The waiting room has a keurig with a variety of drink options with a lovely fish tank that actually persuades me to pry my face away from my phone for 45 seconds with is literally how long it takes for them to pick you up. I've been to places where I've had to wait for approximately 5 years looking through magazines from 6 months ago. The treatment rooms are clean with a beautiful and serene garden view. Also if you're not into the whole nature thing they also have a TV where you can watch shows and also view a magnetized image of your own teeth. That alone is enough to horrify you into wanting to floss until your sink is full of blood and tears of regret. But after a few minutes of Linda's cleaning I start to feel human again and my oral hygiene fears are put to rest. But here's where it really starts to get impressive. I used to struggle with DAILY debilitating headaches for years and sought out TONS of doctors to alleviate my symptoms. Dr. Ameri had the prudence and the medical know how to root out the source and not just help me with the symptoms but CURE the cause of my headaches. This was life changing. With Invisalign I turned from being an grouchy intolerable human being into a mildly obnoxious eccentric ( some things can't be helped.) And THAT is why I make the 45 minutes drive. read more

Must read!!!! Let me begin by telling you this is my first time going out of my way to write a review...EVER! Dissatisfied would be an understatement at best. And the funny story about it is that I didn't even get any work on my teeth done. Thank god! Ameri, had four appointments simultaneously me being the 3rd. Apparently he was the only dentist in the establishment at that moment. He moved from room to room every 5 minutes to give each patient a so called "Evaluation". My evaluation by him began at 3:05 which was pretty amusing since my appointment was for 2. Took a whole 10 mins to tell me what I already knew unfortunately and then made me watch a 15 minute video about teeth in general while he attended to the other patients. I can't talk for other people, but I'm the type of person that would like a dentist to show his undivided attention to me since I had to wait a week for the appointment and I'm PAYING him for it. Unfortunately that was not the case. Long story short I waited for 25 more minutes after which I told him I'm not waiting any more. That's a total of about an hour and 40 mins. Trust me people when I say this, your teeth are very important and you don't want someone who is anxious to go to the next patient work on your teeth. At least I don't! Save yourself the trouble and get someone that gives you their undivided time and really cares about your teeth rather than the money they're making. Everything I stated above was factual.
