The front desk strikes again. They fraudulently processed a charge for thousands of dollars and tried to stick it to my wife and step-son. Took my daughter in to get her teeth fillings. She just turned 5 years old. I was told by the dental assistant that the dentist didn't allow parent/guardian to be in the room while the procedure was being done "Fillings". This didn't sit right with me, so I spoke with the dentist, and she allowed me to sit in the room! During the filling, after oral sedation, they placed her in a full body restraint as "Safety measure". Which was fine, she was sedated and didn't realize she was in restraints. read more

This place is an actual JOKE. I have been here a hand full of times and each time there is something that goes wrong. Today they scheduled me on a day they weren't even open and online it says they are open and they most definitely are not and it's a Wednesday??? Also, one of the times I was here, they detected that I had a few cavities and when I declined to get them fixed to see if I could get a second opinion, they made me feel bad about it and said, "Well you might want to get those fixed soon or you could have a root canal and that's thousands of dollars." This is the filthiest dental office I've ever been to in my life. They are scammers as well! I came in for a cleaning and they told me that my insurance didn't cover the cleaning that I needed, I thought that was very odd and it just so happened that I scheduled my husband to get a cleaning as well with the same insurance and that he needed the same cleaning that wasn't covered. They wanted us to pay full price for the cleaning or finance it and was happy to help us finance the work that needed done. well my husband and I both visited different dentists after declining service and turns out our gums were perfectly healthy and the cleaning that we needed was covered by insurance and should have been free with the special they were running at the time for free cleanings. Not to mention they charged us for eye protection and they're reusing old pairs of sunglasses with built up gunk on them probably from other patients that they've had in the past. The cleanliness was severely lacking and the dental assistant was intentionally stabbing me in my gums to make them bleed just to justify the cleaning claiming I had inflammation and she couldn't do the other cleaning instead, they couldn't care less about your dental concerns as they value money over the patient's wellbeing. I wouldn't trust any dentist that practices here, and if this is the only dentist in your network, go down the street to Lake Houston Dental. Worse place what i have ever experience. Went there with my BCBS insurance right before the New year, they verified it i paid what they asked me and after 2 month they start to send me the bill for more money. so they screw up with insurance time and want me to pay all bill. After i told them it's their responsibility to charge insurance on time they send the debt collector after me. Is there no chance to regular people to survive anymore??? Just ridiculous pay for insurance and yet pay all bills. If there will be a chance to find the lawyer who can sue this place i will. And its not about money its about our rights. read more

I went for a regular check-up. I was told I needed a deep cleaning because I had gingivitis. I accepted this as I had not been to a dentist in over a year due to the pandemic. The treatment plan they gave me cost almost $500! I explained that I couldn't do it now as my FSA benefits were exhausted but would like to have just a basic cleaning until they renew in March. The young lady who answered the phone was friendly and did her best to explain what she was told. She kindly transferred me to the manager as requested. The office manager, Edna, finally got on the phone and proceeded to explain that I was asking them to commit fraud by asking for a simple cleaning! I noticed I started getting a minor toothache so on 5/3/2021, I booked a check up and cleaning appointment for 9AM on 5/7/2021. I would be a new patient; I provided my dental insurance info and got an appointment confirmation via email along with a registration form to be completed before my appointment. The morning of my appointment, I arrive about 15 minutes early. The ladies at the front were unorganized, one lady was clearly still in training however I was patient. I was told I needed to complete the registration form and I explained I had already done so days earlier...still, I was asked to do it again. 10 minutes later I was told there was in issue with my insurance and I wouldn't be able to see the doctor unless I assigned Dr. Pressley as my primary dentist...I never had to do this before but I did as I was asked. I went to my car to make the call only to be told since my appointment time had passed I would have to reschedule. I asked one of the ladies at the front why had this not been advised days ago when I booked my appointment and provided my insurance info? I could not get an answer that made sense. I rescheduled my appointment for my next off day about a week later, then I get a call the morning of my appointment saying that the X-ray machine was down and my appointment would be canceled. I wasn't offered a reschedule, just a vague apology. I give them another try, after all, I already assigned Dr. Pressley as my primary dentist. I arrive a few minutes early to my 7AM appointment. There were a few other people in the waiting room. Again, I was asked to complete the registration form and I told them I had done so in my earlier encounter there. Still, I was asked to complete it again for the 3rd time. The X-ray lady took a million pictures of my teeth, then some more when I get to the dental chair. I get a salesman pitch about how I need a million things done in a specific order. I explain I had a toothache and was focused on that specific tooth and I would also like a cleaning; I hadn't been to the dentist in over a year due to not being able to book an appointment anywhere due to COVID. The X-ray tech advises I have other work done prior to focusing on the tooth with pain. Huh? The dentist comes in and doesn't bother to come around to the chair so I can see his face, instead he's talks to me with my back to him while I'm in the chair and gives a task to the cashier who tells me the printer is broken but she can email me a Treatment Plan. $11,000. I attempt to review it with her as she speeds through it, not making much sense so I ask her if I would be able to get my tooth with pain looked at today and a cleaning. She tells me she wouldn't advise doing so, they must do other work first. Then asks me when would I like to come back in for the dental work. So basically, I was there for 3 hours for X-rays and handed a bill. No work done. Still with a toothache. I was in complete shock and confused. I think I asked the same question 3 times and was given the same answer in different ways. I tell the cashier I wasn't ready to book another appointment and I would need to review the Treatment Plan to make a decision, before I left. A complete waste of time. Scheduled an appointment and shows up but no one in the dental office. Wasted an hour of my time. I received 2 text confirmations of my appointment from them, the mosr recent one the day before. I will be filing a complaint with my dental insurance company about this dental office. This is the second time they did a no-show for a confirmed appointment. This place is a 100% joke! Do not waste your time making an appointment at Sorry Dental Care. I called and made an appointment and was sent the pre-paperwork packaged to complete so I completed it then returned it back as requested. I showed up and the receptionist said "Oh, thank you for sending in the Pre Info package". I waited a bit and then she said I wasn't scheduled there...so, we worked that part out and indeed I did have an appointment there. I took X Rays and then laid down in the chair. The hygentist came in and showed me my teeth where there is some plaque, build up, blah blah blah and started trying to tell me I needed all this special treatment done. Now mind you, I have been very fortunate in my life not to have any teeth problems ever, no cavities, no root canals, no tooth aches, no gum diseases etc.. The Dr. came in and said there is some build up plaque around my teeth and they would need to do XYZ. She comes back and says it will cost $400 dollars for me to get all this done. I told the doctor I was not interested in that and only came for a teeth cleaning. She said they could not do that! Really????? It's MY teeth!:) I take a half day off from work, only to find out a they would not clean my teeth because I would not accept all the upselling they wanted to do. Trust the negative reviews. I should have done that first. DON'T GO HERE! I read from others that they try to make you get extra treatments. They did the same to me. For decades, all I have ever needed was a regular teeth cleaning. A slovenly dentist came in, spoke to me from behind without showing his face, and didn't even have the courtesy to introduce himself to me (or my wife in the next appointment) before looking at my teeth. After a not-so-thorough exam, he said everything looked fine. Then the hygienist--before she even looked at my teeth or gums--started hinting that I would need a deep clean. Warning flags went up. Sure enough, she went right to the need for a deep clean, JUST LIKE I READ IN THE OTHER REVIEWS. When I told her that all I wanted was a regular clean, she refused to do the procedure. The X-ray technician couldn't get the machine to work and had to do multiple retakes. She also stabbed me in the gums with her long false nails. And that's not all. The office manager was the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with--EVER! She has had other negative reviews against her, too, trust these reviews. Her fake, smug smile just added insult to my wife's and my experience. She stated that the doctor had made the assessment that I would need a deep clean, but it wasn't the dentist, it was the hygienist. She boasted that she looked at my x-rays, too, but my wife was standing right there and a Yahoo search was clearly up on the computer monitor. Can you say, "liar?" (I didn't know that office managers were schooled in dentistry or qualified to give medical advice.) I could go on and on about her inaccurate and unprofessional behavior. She would never admit she was wrong and is completely untrustworthy. After I left, she had the nerve to call me names within earshot of other patients, including my wife, who was right around the corner! My wife told her how unprofessional she was and that she should be fired, but she gave the same unprofessional smug smile and shrugged her off. The dentist showed his lack of integrity by defending her, too, even though she lied, gave misinformation, and was rude to my wife and myself. This should tell you the type of unprofessional person he is. The office manager should be fired for how she treats people, and the dentist is not a good dentist or business operator! Avoid this dentist like the plague! DON'T GO HERE! The people who run this chain will probably give an insincere message below like all the other complaints--the fake we care message. This was an interesting dental visit. This is one where I really like the provider and the hygienist but entire support staff lacked the smallest semblance of customer service! I should have known there was something up when they had so many appointments available, even the same day. Things were going fairly well until "Clive" walked in to discuss my care plan. No niceties, he got right to the point. He wanted me to pay for something. Typically my insurance covers a cleaning 100% and they wanted me to pay $49 for "irrigation". When I inquired what that was I was the response was "I'm not going to explain that to you, I will get her to explain that to you." Then he put the paper down and walked out. Several minutes later he returned and said something about me not having to have irrigation and walked out! At this point I'm still confused because you have to "irrigate" teeth to clean them, right? Next up comes the dental assistant. She asks if I'm alright. I say yes and ask how much longer before the hygienist comes in because at this point I've been there over and hour and they close in 30 minutes. This lady, "Ashley" goes on a tirade telling me I can leave and I don't have to get my teeth cleaned. They can't make me stay and I'm welcomed to leave if I don't want my teeth cleaned. I just stare at her in disbelief. Then she demands I answer whether or not I still want my teeth cleaned. I respond yes and she again, reiterates that I do not have to stay if I don't want to. Several minutes later the hygienist walks in and she's very pleasant. We proceed with the teeth cleaning. I'm kinda afraid to ask any questions now though. But my teeth are kinda clean, I guess. I went in for a regular cleaning and was told I needed a deep cleaning. They refused to clean my teeth until I agreed to pay about $1000 extra for a deep cleaning that personally, as someone who visits a dentist regularly, did not feel I needed. Run...literally run from this dental office. I have always taken great care of my teeth, no cavities. The hygienist pokes around at my gums for 2 seconds and decides I need a "gum irrigation" and a "fluoride treatment" along with a routine cleaning, both of which will be an up charge and are not covered by insurance. Then she tells me, at 9:45 when my appointment was for 9:00 am, that she "may not have time" to do my cleaning today but might fit me in at 10. Isn't that included in your routine dental checkup? It has been at literally every other dental office I have been to. So now I am supposed to schedule a second appointment to get my teeth cleaned? I don't think so. So she squeezes me in and gives me the roughest cleaning of my life, all the while scraping my gums so they bleed, and saying "This is why I recommended a gum irrigation." Then had the nerve to tell me to switch to an electric toothbrush...I told her I do use a sonicare toothbrush, as well as a waterpik. Then she told me to change the head more frequently. Meanwhile she was complaining the whole time to other staff members about being short staffed and discussing other patients in front of me.This office is slow, and definitely just trying to squeeze unnecessary dollars out of its patients. I left with bleeding painful gums, when I went in with normal teeth, no gum issues, just needing a cleaning. I'll be finding a different dentist. read more

Then they had to take some more xrays because the technician had just been hired off the street and had no idea what she was doing. I asked for a regular teeth cleaning, as I do every 6 months, and is fully paid by the insurance. They said, oh no, you must have a deep cleaning, which the insurance does not pay, and I would have to pay several thousands of dollars. I repeated that I only wanted a regular teeth cleaning. They refused, and I also refused to get extorted several thousands of dollars. Since the xrays are covered by the insurance, I was not directly charged anything and left. Splendid send me a bill in the mail because the insurance refused to pay their fraudulent claims. Splendid is a fraud and tries to extract several thousand dollars from you. They specialize in illegal billing and that is about it. Visited in December 2019 and they took x-rays and then proposed several thousand dollars in unnecessary work, including multiple crowns on healthy teeth. Visited another dentist immediately after these fraudsters and was confirmed to not need a single thing they had wanted to do. Splendid refused to clean my teeth that day unless I agrees to pay their what I think is "ransom" for all this work. Fast forward to May 2021 and I receive a final notice bill threatening me with collections for $21.76. Confused by this I call my insurance and they confirm that I owe $0 and my EOB states that as well. I tried to contact the office and received pushback that I owe the money even if the EOB says I don't. I tried to explain thats not how that works but got nowhere. I called the insurance company back and they tried to contact the office directly and when they told them they need to remove this balance from my account they were conveniently disconnected. They are now sending a letter to notify them that per their contract with the insurance they can only bill me for what the EOB states, I was warned they may still turn me into collections despite this bill and that I would receive copy so I can provide to a debt collector if they attempt to collect further. I have also filed a formal complaint with the state, if you check out some other reviews I am not the first person they have tried to bill bogus charges to! read more

I recently started going to Splendid Dental. The staff is very friendly and Dr. Pressley is very concientious when it comes to caring for his patients and ensuring their comfort during treatments. Perla was very helpful with guidance getting insurance coverage and payments facilitated. On my first visit they did the depth measurement on my gums. I have always been a little skepticle about this as it is subjective to the pressure or sight and judgement of the hygenist. They told me I need a deep cleaning and that my gums were receding but the measurements they were calling out sounded the ssme as my last dentist had done many times with no concern expressed at all by my dentst. Measurements were a couple 4's some 3's etc. The cost for this deep cleaning procedure was over $700. The bill was of course extensive with many items listed as I also had some crowns that were needed. Perla took the time to explain to me what these charges were and was very helpful. They scheduled an appointment for 4 months later. Seemed a litle early but they also did some crowns and I had an implant in progress that is now needing the crown. It turns out this visit was scheduled just for a check up and another cleaning only. No xrays or anything else. When I sat down in the chair I told the hygenist I only wanted what was covered for free by the insurance. She cleaned my teeth and did a good job. She use a device like a water pick. I was surprised to find out when I was done that this water pick treatment cost $80. out of my pocket. When I expressed my dissapointment I was told that I have to let them do what they feel is the best treatment. I paid the money but then read the information on the attached link. Draw your own conclusions...My rating is based on concern as to whether this deep cleaning was actually necessary.
