Disappointing Mother's Day Brunch. We arrived knowing it would be busy. However, after waiting an hour and seeing everyone, who arrived after us, being seated it was determined they accidentally "overlooked" us. We were seated with a great view of the lake, ordered, then waited almost 45 more minutes to get our food. I had Cheddar Crab Omelette. It was overcooked and brown. My wife had Smoked Gouda omelette but apparently they were out of smoked Gouda and just brought omelette with cheddar instead. Rosemary potatoes were undercooked. First, the lady and gent who own and run ( so well) this amazing restaurant bar are the best people. She mixes up drinks that fit your individual taste and runs the place as her employees are her family. Her husband is the chef and I've never had a better fried whole( headless) fresh fish in my life! Actually, everything I've eaten there tastes better than any 5 Star $$$$$ restaurant in New York! Went here after work with about 15 coworkers. They would not seat us until our entire party had arrived even though the place was not busy and there were many open tables. Probably a policy, I can understand that, although it was inconvenient and we were in the way everywhere we hung out as there were 8 of us already assembled. We were told we could order drinks at the bar, and we did. The drinks were very light, not strong at all. That's fine. One of our party tried to pay at the bar for our tab and essentially was ignored. We got seated shortly after ordering from the bar on the porch, but after 20 minutes or so, I decided to go inside myself and find menus. We'd been there ages at this point and were all starving. By the time the waitress came to take our order (which was some time later), I decided I wasn't going to eat and would be going home instead. I will not be back. Our family has been to Lakeshore Grille a total of 4 times since July of last year. My oldest son chose this place for his birthday in July. We made reservations a few days before and were seated right away for an early dinner. I was a little put off by the loud, obnoxious people at the bar. The loudest being a foul mouth, older, red headed woman who kept continually proclaiming herself the "boss" of the place. If this was the case she was clearly drinking on the job. We asked to move further back in the restaurant and our experience got much better. They've got a good drink menu, pricey, but strong. The jalepeno-mango martini is yummy WAY too pricey at $9. My husband liked his mixed berry margarita, but fruit was just thrown in the glass, not muddled like menu had described. When we asked the bartender about it she was snotty and unapologetic. I feel like the people that run the place are not overly friendly. They don't seem to appreciate their patrons as they should. No beers on tap which was a big disappointment for my husband. The homemade chips with their homemade dressing on top are a delicious (and complimentary) starter. We ordered oysters as an appetizer and they were fresh and tasty. I ordered the grouper which was fabulous. My husband had the ribeye and enjoyed it. My oldest son had the tuna steak which he raved about. A burger and fish tacos were ordered by my other kids and they liked them. Our waitress was quite attentive and kept my boys' drinks refilled. Second and third time were just my husband and I. We ordered the oysters again and they were just as good as the 1st time. Unfortunately the red-headed woman was at the bar again whooping it up with other over-served patrons. We both ordered the tuna steak and it was fabulous. The last time we went was last month. I ordered the tuna steak and it just didn't taste the same as it had the last couple times. We were sad that they didn't have any oysters because we'd been looking forward to them. My son had the chicken and found a hair in his food. Then a guy came in the restaurant with no shirt on. He was allowed to stand at the bar and talk and drink without anyone saying anything to him for a good 15+ minutes. Gross! There's so many great eateries in Chattanooga where the food and service is so much better than this place that I'm not sure I'll be making the trip to Hixson anytime soon. read more

Two stars only due to the bad service. Came on a busy night with 5 other folks in town on business. We were seated and ordered drinks. After ordering drinks, we were told the kitchen was a little backed up and that orders would be taken in 15 min. After 30 minutes were told to wait another 20 minutes to order. All in all, we arrived at 6:45 and didn't get our food until 9pm. By the time we left, our party was pretty frustrated. It's been awhile since I have been here and was not sure what to expect. I was in the mood for an appetizer and chose the spinach /Gouda dip which to me was pretty bland and cheese sparse and not melted. The free chips they serve again just ok. Something I wouldn't order again. I ordered a Mango Margarita which was served in a small highball glass making it too strong and tasted odd. I have eaten here previously and the brunch is good. I am surprised the menu does not have a better selection and should include your basic appetizers like Nachos,chicken fingers ,coconut shrimp, sampler platter etc. This place should be packed with the community that surrounds it perhaps they need to ask there patrons what they would like to see added to their menu if they want to survive! read more

Cannot suggest that you go here, wait service is slow and the food pretty much the level of a fern bar. If you take a look at the tables that you sit out you I'll note that there is a fairly large amount of old food down in the cracks of the boards. Lakeshore Grille is Chattanooga's best kept secret. This family owned and run restaurant has amazing service and food. Right when you walk in the door you are welcomed, seated and presented with a bowl of home made chips with a drizzling of special ranch dressing. If you go at happy hour the appetizers are half price. I personally prefer their delicious mussels. Their white raisin cranberry bread pudding is to die for. I love this place. read more
