Not often I see a Lakeshore Learning anymore, but I was in the area and decided to pop in while I was waiting for my party to arrive for lunch. This place is always full of cool learning and STEM type toys and tools, a teachers dream, as well as anyone who works a lot with children. There are some ideas I walked out with for our Cub Scout Day Camp later this year. The value is mainly in that they have these cool and, somewhat obscure at times, items on hand. My niece's 3-year-old is having a birthday party and my wife decided a toy or two with an educational slant would be apropos. This location is in a plaza and parking was a breeze. We were immediately asked if we needed help when we walked in and my wife actually had something in mind, which he quickly found. We would have been out the door in less than 2 minutes but we decided to look around to see what else they had on the shelves for future consideration. Lots of educational games, puzzles, and books for all ages can be found in this neatly organized store. It's a "must visit" for any teacher as there is a bounty of classroom supplies. COVID makes classrooms look different this year. However my classroom is still going to shine once we go back. Lakeshore is known for all their classroom essentials, educational toys, books, tools, supplies and everything in between. My recent trip I picked up some cool posters I had laminated in store. A bunch of name plates for the childrens cubbies/chairs/pencil boxes that they will vote on during their Zoom session Some borders and other fun things. It was my first time visiting this store and I had a great experience. I had to purchase some chair pockets for my daughter and some school supply. They do not carry your regular crayola brands and the markets ended up being more expensive than the regular target store. They do carry a lot of art activity and developmental toys which is very cool. The caucasian gentleman at the register provided awesome service and had a very position service attitude. It make the check out process very enjoyable along with a fun store browsing experience. The store was stocked well, kept clean and neat. Kudos to this location. In times where toy stores have all but shut down, I'm grateful that this company exists and has a storefront where I can come visit. We became aware of Lakeshore after receiving a catalog in the mail. The toys looked tempted but I was worried because it was all catalog. However, I realized they had a brick and mortar store in many states so we decided to take a visit to this one while out in California visiting family. What a gem! My toddler loved walking into the store and honestly, even though we spent more than we planned to, letting him have the experience of walking into a toy store was a gift in and of itself. His eyes were wide and he was so excited. The staff was helpful and they didn't mind the squeals from a 2 year old. There is plenty of selection and even deals to be had. The toys are appropriate for a wide span of kid ages and the boxes give you suggestions in case you're buying for someone or you just want to make sure it's age appropriate. Checking out was a breeze and the customer service makes this place 5/5. If you sign up to join their loyalty program there are more discounts which make the visit less painful for the wallet. Great selection of materials for elementary school, but could use more for middle and high school.

They have an awesome selection of learning tools and toys. With distance learning happening at most households, this gem of a place offers all that necessities from workbooks, to multiplying toys, to dry erase boards. Their artwork selection is so cute too !! The only thing I'd refrain from is the lakeshore brand play doh - it dries too fast. They carry a wide array of books / workbooks. If you price match on amazon, amazon will always come out the winner because they don't have a brick and mortar presence. However, lakeshore offers discounts such as 1) 20% one item 2) bogo 50% off 3) $10 off $50 or 15 off 75 or 25 off 100. Authors make very little $$ selling on amazon. By supporting lakeshore, you're helping the author and lakeshore remain in business. If you sign up for text or email alerts, you will be able to take advantage of one of the offers mentioned above. If you have a little time, you will find yourself lost in the store browsing the cool items. Lakeshore is an exceptional store offering educational and creative toys and materials for all ages. The displays are set up nicely and the sale representatives offer many recommendations and have you try the item. Britney was our sales rep and she was exemplary. Having worked previously at a childcare center, she gave excellent suggestions for preschool age children and was quite knowledgeable about the other age level products. I would give this place 5 stars but it's so expensive. Plus side is that everything in here is educational. My kids love coming here to play with the display stuff they have out. OOh, I get all giddy when I come into this store. I'm subscribed to their text alerts so when they have promos, I go in for a visit. Now that 85 degrees is across the parking lot, I go here a lot more often. hehe. Anyways, this store is full of ideas to get your kids motivated to learn and have fun doing it! I am not an educator, I work in IT, BUT, I have a little one who just loves everything I bring home from here. I am poor at navigating myself around the store, but the staff here is so helpful and really have great ideas for activities, crafts, age-appropriate games, etc. I attended one of their special events held on Saturday and invited a few mommy friends as well and the kids enjoyed it thoroughly. If you're a teacher like me, you know that Lakeshore is Mecca when it comes to anything teacher-related. Given that, I know that I can find basically anything I see on Lakeshore's website here in the Fountain Valley store. The one thing I love about Lakeshore is that they know how to brand. From their brightly-colored packaging to their cleverly-named products, they know how a classroom works and how their products fit perfectly into the education realm. This store, like every one of their stores was organized in every way you can think of: age, grade, subject, matter, etc. The aisles were wide and the lighting seemed to make all of the products leap off of the shelf and into your basket. I went into the store to find inspirational posters for my classroom and I was immediately greeted with a "Hello!" with a side of, "Let me know if I can help you find anything." I felt at ease to walk around and explore on my own knowing that there was someone there to help when needed. As I walked through the aisles, my mind was going a mile-a-minute, thinking about all of the awesome things I could create with all of these products. Even though I was tempted to max out my credit card, I found what I needed, with some suggestions from a friendly employee, and I was on my way. The organization, cleanliness, and friendly staff of this Lakeshore location has made me a fan. Lakeshore Learning Store is the best! I love shopping here for all my needs. They have everything that an educator can dream of. The store is so bright and colorful. I feel like a kid walking into a candy store. The staff members are always very helpful and willing to assist. They are very kind and understanding when it comes to returns and exchanges. They can look up your receipt by using your member phone number. I've returned/exchanged items here without having my receipt and have never had any complications. Products are quite pricey. MUST say this is the BEST teacher supply store I've seen to date. Very clean and well lit. They even have bathrooms! Since we all know kids need to go the bathroom wherever they may be :) SATURDAYS are super fun and eventful. Look at their event calendar. Every week they have a themed project for the kids. Paper, supplies and all the tools are provided for the children. Come see it for yourself. It's LOADS of fun and the kids get to take home their artwork. They work very well with the kids and are highly encouraging. I witnessed an autistic child who was having a breakdown b/c her mom colored outside the lines. Staff was able to calm the child down by saying, " It's ok" and also spoke to the child in a soothing way that didn't make her cry or continue yelling. On top of that - she comforted the mom. I love coming here to laminate. Teachers get .10 cents off each foot. Kitty often helps me find just the right learning activities for my students. Shree and Sara patiently and respectfully helped me with a return. Sara also recommended some high quality putty that was a good sensory gift for my friend's son. By far the best "toy store" I've taken my kids to. Went in this evening with my 2.5 year old. She had so much fun being able to sample so many toys that were set out. Everything was organized. All the toys are educational. The lady who helped me used to be a preschool teacher and was super helpful and clearly knew about toddler and young child development. She recommended several toys and made sure I was informed of deals going on. My daughter choose several awesome toys I've never seen at other stores or even Amazon. Little to no bilingual material. If you are are a bilingual teacher, just buy online. They seriously only had about four to five items in Spanish. Did not see any Vietnamese or other languages.  The customer service was great, they tried to help me find bilingual materials, but they had very little. This was my first time at a Lakeshore and I will definitely come back again. Not only is it filled with wonderful educational and entertaining toys and supplies, the staff was super helpful and friendly as well. My daughter got a microphone and speaker for her birthday and it broke the first time she used it. I thought for sure that even though it was a lakeshore product I would have to put in some work to get it replaced. On the contrary when I got there a woman greeted us, I asked her where I could exchange something, she asked me what happened, I told her, and she got me a new one. WHAT??? I didn't even have to argue with her. AMAZING! Really great customer service. I would normally give this place 4 or 5 stars but I just can't today. I came in to laminate. When I arrived, a couple was laminating some Japanese word cards for their class which was okay; however, they were using both laminating machines for their one project. I had to wait 30 minutes to get to use one. I observed two store employees looking over their project and not once did either of them suggest that the project be laminated on one machine so that other customers could use one. They acted like I was invisible. After the couple finished their lamination, the husband looked up at me and said that he didn't know I was waiting to use the machines. I said nothing because even he knew that it was unfair to make me wait 30 minutes. Lakeshore should limit lamination to 15 minutes per machine when there is a line or they should provide a seating area along with a sign in sheet to use the laminator. It was very uncomfortable to stand there but I really needed to laminate my students' homework folders. read more

Lakeshore is a teacher supply store. I love coming here and reliving my grade school memories of paste and hand paints. As much as I love taking the kids here...it typically takes twice as long trying to drag them out the door, as they white knuckle some artifact.
