We went to this place to create a bear for my granddaughter on her bday, they greeting us since the entrance, all the personal is friendly, the attendant was so nice giving us the prices, explained the accesorios packages, etc. And they sang happy birthday to my granddaughter, she was so happy, the employees have a great and kind heart for the kids, looking for a great bear to build. Also we recorded our voices to make a memorable bear. The lady were clear on the instructions how to do it. It comes amazing. She had a lot of patience. We had such a fun time and the staff was super helpful and friendly. There were so many options to choose from and they even checked back-stock for us to ensure we got the exact one we were looking for. Kaylee let me know about an amazing gift card promotion which will be a big help towards our future visits. What a fun experience. Definitely recommend to others and we will be back again. 3/21/25 I visited again today on my own. Kaylee, one of the helpful staff members from our last trip in remembered me and my family. I'm a furious on behalf of another customer. She went to the buid-a-bear to pick up a custom order for cinnamon roll. it was a big beautiful plushie. But I guess the manager has a habit of opening someone else's mail and if the manager finds it nice, they'll deliberately cancel the order, so they can have it to themselves. The manager tells her that the order got canceled without bothering to check the order number. When, the customer pressed her further about it, the manager had the audacity to kick the box it came in repeatedly to the front, shouting "why didnt you tell us it was from fedex?" there is no option on the website that says fedex shipping. The customer managed to get the bear and leave but was in emotional distress afterwards. Shame on this manager for hoarding merchandise, She should lead by example, she's here to sell products, not hoard! She should not be a manager. read more

First time at Build a Bear Workshop. I was visiting Anaheim, so I decided to stop by the Outlets at Orange to do some shopping. To my excitement, there's a Build a Bear store there. I went to BABW on a Tuesday afternoon and it had two staff members working. I had the pleasure of working with Deserae, who helped my little one pick out a plushie and stuff it. Deserae was so kind and patient. My kiddo wanted to make his plush extra special, so she helped us out. I loved seeing the smile on my kiddos face, with giving a wish and hugging the plush as part of the creation process. My kiddo chose a Disney 100 anniversary Stitch plush. Surprisingly there was no Mickey Mouse, but the stitch is adorable and metallic so it was still a cute choice. After making our Stitch, my kiddo picked out a hoodie and "Chuck Taylors" for the outfit. As an adult, I found it hilarious that Stitch got to wear a Millenial-approved outfit. Hey, I like dressing comfortably. I'm sure Stitch was happy too. The total was about $76... it's a little pricey but the experience is so worthwhile for kids. Where else can you come and get a stuffed animal have a heart ceremony, give it life and get a birth certificate? The shop is open and bright. The setting is perfect to bring a stuffed animal to life. Couples also come here. Things have changed a great deal from the first build a bear years ago. I kinda got the nickel-and dime feeling as they charge you for every little add on including the take home carrying case. She got a doggie and we added the traditional beating heart. Unfortunately, the sound of a beating heart is even extra and not included with the beating itself...bummer. Overall, a fun experience for the little one. What others see: stark white undecorated white walls. What I see: happy smiling kids with a twinkle in their eyes when the Bear Technician hands them their bear. What others say: oh, they won't let me in despite google saying it closes later: What I see: yelp says that they're supposed to close at 6:00pm on Sunday, December 26th. Yet at 6:45pm, I notice they were still happily helping customers. That's going an extra mile, and I'm sure they must've been overworked this holiday season. What others say: oh they are not kid friendly, rude, and not helpful. What I see: giving each child the individual attention so that they're happy to bring the bear home, with voice , heart, certificate and all... Many are quick to judge, but I don't see a tip jar anywhere in the store. The kids are getting an experience at the store. From what I see, I think the workers are doing a stellar job. They're projecting their voice day in and day out in their job through the mask. They're not handing you a teddy bear at the counter. A lot of love & TLC goes into each animal. I think parents are more critical, but I'm quite certain from a kid's perspective, this place deserves 10 stars. It earns that rating from me as a parent too :) read more

All my local Build A Bears are closed since they are inside of malls. This location was the closest one to me that was open. Located in the Outlets of Orange. Close to the parking lot. They open at 11 am. Larger of the locations that I have been too. Huge space, spread out nicely. Great stock selection. They get busy on weekends. We were first in line but the queue after us was pretty long. The process from end to end normally takes about 10-20 minutes, when it is busy double it or more. They do some of the normal birthday song and dance stuff but a lot of the manual stuff they used to let you do is no longer allowed. You have to follow specific processes now and stand in certain areas. Friendly service, was in and out in under 30 minutes. They still have pay your age for kiddos! read more

The representative employee number 0074062 at the register is scamming/misleading people into purchasing a gift card. She stated I "qualified" for a $10 gift card with my $30 purchase but I couldn't use it until tomorrow " (sneaky wording right?) Everyone qualifies for products that are sold in store. She then added on a $10 gift card and discounted it 50% off making people think the extra $5 was "just the taxes" and the normal total. I didn't catch it until looking at my receipt and then asked her if the "qualifying gift card" charged me $5? Yes, yes it did. I'm assuming they earn some sort of extra incentive off "selling" or in her case scamming people. Unfortunately I wasn't able to catch in time to save my brother the $120 he spent on my niece. These types of employees are muddying the name and integrity of the business and need to be dealt with as how many other customers has this happened to without them knowing? Hundreds? Thousands? That's a lot of money to company to ensure repeat business. DO NOT shop at this location, go elsewhere to spend your hard earned money. Asked her to refund it, she said they aren't refundable, naturally. Not even a sorry from her tells me she is doing it on purpose. Stay far away from here. read more

This was our second visit to this location, and once again, it was a treat for the kids. We went on a weekend and it was not crowded. The store was spacious and everything was on display neatly and organized. Kids went to the select the stuffed friends of their choice along with an outfit for each one. Then we used the machine to record a voice message for each stuffed friend. Afterwards, the friendly staff helped the kids with stuffing the bears and putting in their "hearts." Once they were done, we proceeded to the checkout to generate their birth certificates and pay. Because of COVID, we didn't dress the bears, and we no longer were able to produce our own birth certificate. So that made the checkout process longer. Overall, be expected to drop a sizable amount of money on a stuffed friend. An average stuffed animal costs $24, plus about $20 for an outfit, and other add-ons will add up. Make sure you sign up for the online emails for special discounts. They run deals on stuffed animals all the time; when we went it was buy one, get one free. It's definitely a fun place for your grade school-aged kids. But parents beware: be prepared to look into your kids' puppy-dog eyes and fight the temptation to say yes to every single adorable accessory in the store. Lucky for you, Build-A-Bear sells discounted gift cards at the checkout, so be sure to grab one for the inevitable next visit. 4/5 stars because it is expensive. read more
