Their in-store/curbside pickup service needs serious work. I placed an order of 10 items yesterday at 11:15AM to pick up in store. The confirmation email said the order would be ready within 2 hours and I would receive both a text and an email to notify me when the order was ready. I hadn't heard anything by 3:30, so I tried to call the store and see what was going on. Wouldn't you know, this location either disconnected their number or never set it up in the first place. When I selected the "speak to a team member" option, an automated voice said "goodbye" and the line went dead. Awesome. When I drove to the store at 4PM, the order still wasn't ready and the employee had no idea what was going on. "Are the items in stock?" I asked. "If something is out of stock and that's why it hasn't been fulfilled please tell me while I'm here so I can switch it out for something else." She repeated she didn't know what was delaying my order and wasn't sure when it would be ready. I left and called the corporate number to see if THEY could tell me why the order was taking so long. The woman I spoke to put me on a short hold and when she came back on the line she said it would be ready soon. Sure enough, I got a text 10 minutes later telling me my order was ready. Gee. Thanks. By then I was already home and decided I would pick up the order today instead. At 9AM this morning, more than 12 HOURS after getting a text telling me my order was ready for pick-up, I received an e-mail from Michael's saying 3 items were out of stock and they'd be issuing a refund. So...you told me the order was ready even though items were out of stock? What a complete and utter waste of time. Horrible experience dealing with them online or over the phone...you should shop in-store ONLY, and even that I can't recommend. read more

Ugh. The girls who used to work here were the absolute WORST! They were SOOOO rude! Thankfully, as of lately, it seems they have replaced the rude girls with some nicer ones. Unfortunately, they still have a bit to learn... I went in to buy a fake pumpkin after Halloween (so they were on clearance already) but the pumpkin I chose (it was the very last one of the one I wanted) had a broken stem, so I asked for an extra discount instead of the clearance discount price of $20. They said that they couldn't do it. The manager certainty can do that! I used to work at Michaels! Lol. But it's ok, I just said, "Oh, then I won't get it, thanks though." My shopping experience at this store today was exceptional. I want to tell you how amazing Genessis is at check-out. She helped me access my coupons (with a very old and slow phone). She did so patiently and without getting frustrated with me hitting the wrong button's. It would have been easy to become annoyed and she didn't. I've had my ups and downs shopping here over the past year. My irritability with their computerized inventory vs. store availability is legendary. Since the reopening in June, though, service at the store level had improved to the point I was happy about shopping here. Until right now. Three weeks ago I purchased a quantity of clearance yarn, most of which came down to 50% off or thereabouts. Pre-pandemic coupon prices, basically. I was quite pleased to find a skein of Loops & Threads Impeccable yarn in the Walnut Tweed color for $1.97. Good deal and perfect for a hat project. I pulled off the band to reveal a used skein; yarn hand-wrapped tightly around the machine-wrapped yarn...and riddled with the prior user's perfume. Not cool, you guys. I'm one of those people with sensory sensitivity. I'd gladly pay the regular price for a fresh, unused skein, which is what I thought they'd sold me. If your management is going to pull this trick, the least you could do would be to create a sticker warning people it's been pre-used and returned. Caveat emptor! I'd planned to stop in this weekend and check the rest of the clearance stock; now I'm skeptical and don't especially want to go. read more

I originally came into this store because I needed Iron on appliques for a project. I'd also been driving for an extended period of time and needed to relieve myself. When i went to the back of the store to see a bathroom I saw an "out of order sign" these are typically just a deterrent in my experience so I approached a staff member and asked about a key/code I was very rudely responded to. I assume the bathroom is for staff only and they don't want to allow customer use but don't put an out of order sign on it and be unpleasant when asked about it. The staff member responded by saying that the "bathroom is out of order, that's why she put an out of order sign on it" as if I was stupid. She griped to me that she personally has been having to walk to panera or to the "chicken place" and restated that it was broken and continued to talk down to me as if i was stupid and i was the one who personally broke her toilet. Now i have to trek across town to a different craft store as she's made me uncomfortable to shop there again. hopefully it'll be fixed for the next nervous person who needs it. read more

I wanted to come on here to compliment the staff! Especially Elliot (they/them), who I believe is assistant store manager. I'm an avid crocheter, and was looking for all the yarn I needed for holiday gifts. They don't have the biggest selection but had everything I needed. So I had a big purchase, plus a return from an online order. Well, the women in front of me in line were being jerks, to be nice. From what I could tell they were arguing with the store manager for a good while over a few dollar difference. Well, both the manager (didn't get the name-sorry!) and Elliot handled the stress of a busy store and rude customers with grace and excellent customer service, all while being short staffed! Elliot was doing everything they could to get my return in order, send me out with my purchase and still manager their store and employees with a growing line. They managed to do that all while being so polite and respectful, despite being incredibly stressed. I appreciate the team here and I really hope this gets to someone on the team so they know their customer service is being noticed and appreciated! read more

Always come to this store it's pleasantly clean. Never have had an issue till now. As I was getting ready to check out on Wednesday at around 6:30 pm. I over heard who I believe was the manager talking to her employees in a very rude way. Was very repulse by the way she talk to one of the employees specifically . She spoke to him in a way that no manger should talk to her employees and continued to do so in front of the customers. I even called the store a couple hours after placing my order online to ensure that they received my order. They said it's ready and I should receive it before EOD. I'm so disappointed. They have had self checkout now for awhile. It takes forever to use. The coupon is difficult to enter and you end up getting charged the regular price. I had to redo the sale multiple times and I finally gave up. The online app is now a endless circle of nonsense. This is entirely how a store goes under. You only want to shop with a coupon and get email after email that things are on sale. The reality is this has been set up to screw over the customer. Never coming back. This low rating is based on customer service, very rude employees. Went in to the store for an exchange, had previously bought a can of spray paint and though I had used it, the last bit was not firing correctly. Usually I would buy another one, but this was the second time this had happened when using the same brand, so I asked if it would be possible to receive a new can since I was finishing up a project. The cashier handed the can to another employee behind the counter and she immediately began to comment negatively, laughing and looking at me. I felt extremely uncomfortable and instantly picked up that I was the center of their gossip. I feel that I was treated unfairly, and have never had employees gossip while I was still in the store. The situation should have been handled with professionalism, not like a high school locker room. I understand my request may have seemed petty, but the employees who felt the need to point it out did not know the full story. This store could definitely use some more training in customer service, I'll take my business else where. read more
