From triage to being placed in an ER room, everything moved quickly and efficiently. A CT scan was quickly ordered, followed by an MRI/MRA and then a CT angiogram to make sure there was no aneurysm. We truly appreciated how thorough the team was. The nursing staff was exceptional--Riley, along with the male nurse before the shift change, were both attentive, compassionate, and highly professional. The imaging staff who came to take and bring back my husband from the tests were kind, respectful, and wonderfully caring. Dr. Nelson, the ER physician, was on top of everything and ensured that my husband received the appropriate care. Special thanks to Dr. Morris, the neurosurgeon, for carefully overseeing and confirming that each test was necessary. Our deepest gratitude goes to Karen Pennelli, the Neurosurgery PA, who took the time to clearly explain all the imaging results in detail and provided great reassurance, making sure everything was thoroughly reviewed and approved. And they was wondering why I was upset. About the time I was getting ready to leave with out surgery they came in to take me back.a Little over 5 hours of waiting. My gallbladder was gangrene I didn't know that no one told me. The doctor his self I liked but the other was not professional at all Anastasia had no clue what he was doing (beautiful) . I told them I was having trouble breathing and they didn't believe me they told me you are fine but I still couldn't breathe good. From now on I will let nature talk it's course if I don't make it so be it. I will NEVER trust doctors anymore or the nursing staff again. Anywhere.

11/12/2025: Consultation with Dr. Bruner for accidents that left my entire upper-back in constant…read morepain, bicep & wrist weakness, numb & tingly fingers. MRI showed 4 cervical herniated discs, but he recommended 1-level fusion (since he's performed ~4000 fusions & ~40 ADRs). Being young and otherwise healthy, I'm anti-fusion and advocated for artificial disc replacement. Unsure if Dr. Bruner is biased/had outdated information, but he assured me that fusion DOESN'T limit mobility & that FDA only approves of 1-level ADR [untrue]. To my distaste, Dr. Bruner downplayed the difficulty of performing each surgery & mentioned how surgery makes him money. I don't play about my pain and health issues, so he eventually agreed to do ADR on my C5-6 *emphasis on C5-6* 12/18/2025 Surgery Day: I arrived at Northside 9:30am and was in pre-op for HOURS hooked up to dilaudid IV, then Dr. Bruner walks into my room saying "Ready to replace C6-7? If I cannot access C6-7 to replace, can I do a fusion there instead?" I rejected the fusion and replied "I thought we were only replacing C5-6". He checks his notes then said "Oh, you're right. I usually don't apologize but I'm sorry." Ultimately, Dr. Bruner canceled my surgery b/c my "MRI was too old" (which he should've mentioned AT LAST MONTH'S CONSULTATION), ordered me to get new MRI, and wanted to reschedule surgery to next week. Once again, Dr. Bruner suggested that I be "open-minded to fusion" & mentioned gladly performing my surgery b/c it is easy and will put money into his pockets. I urged the importance of doing my surgery soon since the new year was approaching, meaning I would have different health insurance (Kaiser Permanente) and would have to restart the whole process again. He promised that if I get ADR surgery at Emory (under KP), he would refer me to trusted fellow neurosurgeons. I left the hospital at 4:30pm after SEVEN HOURS of NOTHING. My boyfriend was also there and witnessed this ordeal. 12/24/2025: Scheduler called me to reschedule surgery date and got annoyed that I was hesitant to follow through after my TERRIBLE experience with Dr. Bruner. Her tone was like I should be grateful that Dr. Bruner is willing to take time out of his Christmas vacation to operate on me AS IF IT WASN'T HIS FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE. 1/2026: I chose the Emory route but Dr. Bruner refused to refer me to an Emory surgeon, lol who would've thought! TLDR: RUN !!! I've been in-and-out of doctors' offices for the past 4 years, and this is BY FAR the WORST healthcare experience I've EVER had. Dr. Bruner lives up to the negative neurosurgeon stereotypes (derogatory), Advanced Neurosurgery Associate front-desk lady is rude, surgery scheduler is rude. If helping people makes you miserable, then get another job! Only Toni the PA and the medsurg tech were pleasant.

There is a charge for parking (first 30 minutes is free, so no worries if you have a quick delivery). It's $3 for the whole day should you need to stay a few hours. Not sure if they validate (I don't want to have to visit the hospital that much to find out). There is both covered and uncovered parking depending on your preference. The facilities that have been renovated and are complete feel fresh and inviting. The elevators are smooth and most of the interior looks brand new [from when it was Gwinnett Medical]. You can adopt one that is already born that you see throughout the hospital; or you can choose to adopt a newborn right when it is born and name it yourself. My daughters loved viewing the birth of the babies and the whole adoption process. It is all made to feel like a hospital and an adoption, yet a magical one. Although the old Babyland General Hospital Building that was located in town behind the Chick-fil-a will always be my favorite, this one is bigger and is a very nice place. It is larger, providing more room , and it is wonderful for occasional events and collector's events as well.

I have trusted Emory Johns Creek multiple times with imaging, and they continue to fail me. One time, the technician failed to take my allergy to contrast seriously. It was quite unfortunate seeing my clear bad reaction shrugged off, rather than... I don't know, following proper procedure and getting a doctor to evalute me? Most recently, the highly incompetent staff provided me an inaccurate estimate for my pre-payment amount. I am currently owed $125 by Emory and they have not provided this refund in a timely fashion. If you have to have anything done at Emory Johns Creek, please be careful with pre-paying. I know I personally will never pre-pay for another procedure within the Emory medical system after this nightmare of trying to obtain a refund of cash I am clearly owed.
