I have been to this establishment many times but it seems yesterday it was off. New cook perhaps? My husband's home fries were still raw, his sausage was a pale gray color, and my mother's hamburger was still raw in the middle. It took almost an hour to get our food. The waitress would completely ignore us because she was guaranteed a 20% tip from all of us at the table due to our party of 8, whereas the smaller tables she had to work and be nice for her tip. I was really let down because I honestly have always enjoyed their breakfast and homemade onion rings. I can't say if I will return or not and if I do choose to return I will have my family spread out into two tables where the waitress is not guaranteed a tip and feels compelled to make our visit a decent one. read more

Everything was good, we really like this place, service is good and the food is great. I had combo fajitas and it was amazing and plenty leftover for dinner. My husband had the 1/2 lb cheeseburger with onion rings and he ate every single bite. We've been here probably 6 times now and it's always pretty good. Lakeside Cafe easy to find plenty of parking lots of customers super nice efficient staff. BUTT THE CIGARETTE SMELL FROM THE BAR yucks! Must remove ashtrays that aren't in use and clean them. Must address the leaking beverage frig by restrooms as huge liability for falls. Beautiful dining area, outside plants amazing. Food was okay, Some things were definitely better than the others but I mean we payed 51$ for a full meal for four people, It's a bar and grill, what are you expecting? (Issues were just small things, fries slightly undercooked, salad to watery, etc) The restaurant was really comfortable and i genuinely enjoyed the smoking and non smoking side, it smelled fine on both sides. Overall, Lakeside Cafe is what one would expect for small-town cafe! The service was good - when we arrived, the hostess informed us off the bat they were short staffed and running slow. We appreciated the warning, and asked to be seated anyway. We were still able to get in and out within about an hour. There is both a smoking and non-smoking sections to the restaurant indoors. The breakfast was good. The Philly steak omelette and potatoes was a little too greasy for our taste but still quite good. The huevos con fajita was a very solid breakfast option. read more

My dad has told me all about this place. I've always wanted to try it. Here we are on a Saturday night at 7:45 trying to get some grub. I walk in through the doors and I am immediately told that they are closed. I ask why? They are supposed to close at 9:00 on Saturdays. They said "nobody else came in" and I stormed off, still hungry. Don't go out of your way to give your hopes up. I personally have never dealt with something as unprofessional as what I've experienced today. Go or don't go, I don't care. I just can't guarantee that they will be open when they are supposed to during Norma business hours. read more

This is a cafe and bar with a smoking section. The smell was very faint for our brunch visit. Biscuits and gravy were excellent. They put the eggs on the biscuits before adding gravy though, I would ask for the eggs to be separate if ordering again. The coffee was burnt but the OJ was good as was the mimosa. My wife LOVES their grilled fish, either Catfish and Talapia. They grill the catfish by request, otherwise it's deep-fried. Daily Specials include the entree with two vegetable sides, a drink and desert for under $9. As for me, I feel their Menudo is the best I've found so far in the Cedar Creek Lake area. We eat there 1-2 times a week. One side of the restaurant is for smokers though, if that's an issue. But the bar seperates the two sides so I never notice any smoke. read more

Half the restaurant is smoking, half is non smoking 2) the queso sauce was Mexican Velveeta 3) refried beans were canned and rice was instant 4) I'm giving it two stars because the waitress provided good service, was pleasant and nice. The service was great. The food came out quick. Hubby was pleasantly surprised of the quality of his hamburger and fries. I had the breakfast buffet there is an omelet station with someone ready to make whatever kind of omelet you want. My veggie omelette was very good with fresh veggies. Breakfast is served all day. One of my go-to restaurants when I'm visiting friends at Cedar Creek Lake. Friendly staff, great home cooked food, and a pleasant atmosphere. I've been here for the weekend breakfast buffet, which has great made to order omelets and other traditional breakfast items. Our first time here and we were so disappointed. FYI it's a smoking/non-smoking restaurant so if you are bothered by smoke smell it might not be for you. We were sat by the hostess who spoke little English. She also took our order. After 40 minutes our order still hadn't come out but others around us that came in after us had. We tried to talk to the hostess/waitress but she didn't understand us. We overheard the table behind us complaining that they ordered liver and onions and got chicken fried steak, the waitress said it's ok just eat it, ( in broken English, I don't think she understood). Another waitress came over to that table and said that the other waitress didn't understand and asked what happened. The patron told her, but it had been too long and decided too just keep the food. Us, still no food and no refill on our coffees. We left $5.00 on the table and left. Too bad. We always saw a lot of cars there, we are new here, and thought we found a great breakfast place. went in about 10:30 this Sunday morning and had to remind waitress for chips and salsa once we got our food, my husband got beef fajitas and said his beans and rice tasted from a can then once we were done eating the waitress came back to ask how it was and we didn't want to complain our first time eating there then about 20 minutes later we had to ask another lady for our check and the restaurant was not busy enough that she had to be so little attentive :-( won't go back spent $30.00 for two OK meals and poor service read more
