Especially for beginning and intermediate golfers, Murray Parkway is great because there is a "bail out" area on nearly every hole, where you can hit a bad shot and still end up in the rough (or maybe even the neighboring fairway). The groundskeepers do a pretty good job too, the course is in solid shape. Because of its central location in the valley, and because it's a pretty beginner-friendly course, you'll definitely want to get a tee time here (rather than trying to walk on). I grew up playing this course and played in many high school tournaments at Murray Parkway-it's a classic!

There is an automatic 8% cancellation fee that applies to canceling or amending any tee times no matter what the change is. Additionally I prepaid for my cart, which they charge $20-$25 for. When I showed up for my tee time because I wanted to walk, they told me tough luck, wouldn't refund me or let me spend the $20 in the pro shop. They also have a credit card fee in the pro shop for using one. I feel like they nickel and dime as much as they can. Fun course but they need need new management.

I called ahead at 6:00pm to check if the driving range was open and was told that it was. Based on…read morethat, I drove over and arrived around 6:45pm, only to be met by Sam, who rather rudely informed me that the range was closing early "today" for no clear reason. It's frustrating enough to get conflicting information, but the attitude made it worse. A little communication and basic courtesy would go a long way. If hours are going to change, especially on short notice, staff should be on the same page--and maybe not act like it's the customer's fault for showing up based on what they were told.

With the Wastach range so close it's like we're playing in the Alps! The fairways are wide Amd in great shape. Don't think you will walk this course. Like many mountain courses, I was afraid it was going to be a bit gimmicky but I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't at all. There were several elevated tees, rolling (even slanted) fairways, it never felt like it was too much at any time. The course was in great shape, especially considering it's been 100 degrees and more throughout my Salt Lake City visit. Outside of a few holes, the course is pretty narrow and will require some straight shooting. The greens were a trip because at times they were quick and then they would slow down considerably. Many of them had several tiers which proved to be tough at times. Overall, I had a great experience and had it with a great rate for some good golf. No cart girl but I'm guessing the 104 temp caused that. On an amazing customer service note, when I finished the drink area was closed and when I asked one of the instructors if there was somewhere else I could buy something, he gave me one of his own Gatorades. Super nice! Hydrate and have a blast.

The play was very slow on Friday night when I played. Having to wait 5 minutes or so to tee off on EVERY hole was the only downside. I recommend this place anyway.
