It's a convenient neighborhood market, and they are always friendly and helpful. They almost always have what I need.

This place gets 5 stars for customer service. I went to the counter with 6 cans of my favorite Rockstar drink. I asked if they had more since they were hard to find elsewhere in town. The owner went and checked in the back and didn't have anymore. She took a note of the flavor and said she would check with her supplier for more and to check back in a week or so. Awesome! This is my local corner market. The owners and staff are always friendly and willing to help. The selection of convience items is somewhat Limited but everything is fairly priced and fresh. The four gas pumps are antiquated, slow, and require patrons to prepay inside. Gas prices are very competitive. Overall, I wouldn't change a thing. This is a locally owned and managed store in a time where chain stores and large corporations run 99% of stores. Support local business! read more

The most remarkable thing about this review is that I have found, purely by accident, a convenience store to review before Lakewood G. reviews it! On my way to a book club meeting in Bartley Ranch Park, I stopped in this store to pick up some sodas and napkins. The man at the counter appeared to both be a Patel and the shopkeeper, which wouldn't have mattered at all if he had bothered to know the name of the park located nearly across the street from his premises. It was my first time going to this park, and I just wanted to be sure I was on the right track. Fortunately one of his local customers overheard me and said I should take the first left. It's a pet peeve of mine that one ought to familiarize themselves with the businesses and locations in their immediate vicinity. I strongly dislike an "I don't know and don't care attitude," which describes this man's, though he was not rude about it when he just shrugged. His store was well stocked. I could choose from 4 different types or size packages of napkins. He had an assortment of unusual sodas and his store was clean, if a bit dark (probably to save on electricity and I don't object to that). Per convenience store practices prices are a bit high and I didn't see anything special in the way of coffee, tea or icee machines. Parking was right by the door, which is the very definition of a convenience store! read more

The place might not be the best or fanciest market, but it has that local market feel. It is a place that is not perfect, but that is what i like about it and it is family run. I can usually get what I need and it is super convenient. They have propane exchange, gas, snacks, ice cream, a very decent wine selection, a large hard alcohol isle, and a section with smoking supplies. The employees are always helpful and nice! The market is conveniently located, they carry a wide variety of items, and have a rather decent selection of wine and beer. The problem is that they don't adhere to the advertised promotional prices they have posted on the cooler doors. For example, Mike's hard lemonade was advertised 2 for $3.50. When I was rung up she charged me $4.00 and then begrudgingly changed it when I pointed out the advertised price. Two weeks later I go in, buy the same thing and was overcharged again. This time the man refused to sell it to me at the advertised price and said the price was set by the distributor, not by them. Which makes absolutely no sense. If that's the price they have it advertised then that's the price it needs to be sold at. Yesterday the same thing happened with a Yoohoo that my son grabbed. It was advertised at $1.50, I was changed $2.00. As much as I like the store I'm hesitant to shop here because I know I'll be ripped off. They're knowledgeable about what they're doing yet continue to do it. Be advised! read more

Stopped in for the first time to get a cup of coffee for myself and a coworker. Walked in and was not acknowledged at all. Coffee prep area was filthy. Garbage can with push lid was so filthy I couldn't touch it and I'm a construction worker! Don't like buying a small item like a cup of coffee with my ATM card so I wandered the isle looking for a snack of some sort couldn't find anything but junk food and ended up with a small bag of cheetos. Yuck. Went to pay and she says "7.99" ! I was stunned! I asked how much for the coffee ( I had my own cup) in addition to a regular cup. She says 1.99. I was like Wow! Ok the Cheetos? 3.99! Then she doesn't print me a receipt. Place was filthy too. Never going back. read more

I live in the area so I stop here for gas and snacks from time to time and it's really a nice little shop. It has pretty much everything. The ladies that run the place are always very nice. Also, another perk is that they don't charge extra for using your credit/debit card to buy gas! That's pretty much nonexistent now. The only pitfall to this is that you can't swipe your card at the pump and fill up your tank. You have to go inside and prepay a set amount. Nonetheless, I like this convenience store. It's kept clean and the prices are reasonable. read more

Lakeside Market is running a pretty shady business. Several months ago I purchased a few items bring my total to $2.96. I paid with 3 one dollar bills and got a dismissive "thank you" in return. I know it's just 4 cents but they are probably doing this to a lot of people. Today I decided to give them another chance. I bought a bottle of water and a snack. The cashier told me my total was $2. I paid with my card. She asked if I wanted my receipt and because of my past experience I said yes. The receipt showed I was charged $2.45. When I asked why I was charged more than the total she gave me the cashier points to a note that says $.35 fee for gas. Ummmmm I did not get gas and even if I did $.45 is more than $.35. I called her out on it and all she had to say was "sorry. Sorry. I do it next time". Beware!!! They are running a very shady business! If I hadn't asked for the receipt I wouldn't have noticed the extra charge on my bank statement. Seems like they are preying on this. read more

Lakeside Market is a friendly gas station mini-market that has all the staples, lots of beverage choices, snacks, cold and microwave food, steamed tamales, fountain sodas, a wide alcohol selection, cigarettes and other tobacco products, magazines, and more. The owners are the operators and are very polite and appreciative of your business. Personally I like to buy my gas here simply for their gratitude; it doesn't cost any extra, and it makes me happy to support a small business. The operators of most chain gas stations don't know me from Adam, and this store adds a personal touch. Several times I've asked them to start carrying a product, and they did as soon as they could get it. Specifically I them 4 years ago to get Spicy Hot V8, and 3 years ago I asked them to get Starbucks Light Double-shot. They still carry those products today. read more

0 stars if I could. Let me first say no business in reno has ever pissed me off as badly as this one...therefore...my very first yelp review. I live right down the street from this market, my husband has been there around 3 times and every time his experience was upsetting and shady to say the least. I always told him well, don't go there anymore ever, because they are clearly ripping people off with their lazy ways of pricing hoping they can get away with making up prices upon paying! After a pizza and ice cream day with my kids a few weeks ago in the same shopping square I decided to see for myself. We bought snacks...and yes I left feeling a little ripped off but not enough to even say much about it because it was around $8. So we do the same thing today...this time I'm hoping for the best, 2 ladies were working and the younger teenager is quite nice...but the mother was obviously annoyed with my questioning of prices. The incense is ridiculously priced if even the real price or a made up one, so I gave her those back right away, the small .75 oz peanut snacks she was trying to charge over double what the price said on the box. My kids each got a little candy and I was pissed off at the total and let her know my husband had bad experiences with them making up prices and clearly robbing people. I didn't buy any of it and I left. It is about the principle of not allowing a business to treat people this way. I had the money that was being charged...it is just not okay with me to give my money to obvious crooks. I hope more people review what they experience at this store with this family, they don't deserve business. I would be a loyal customer as I am to the local businesses in the same shopping center because of the honesty and integrity the smiling hope pizza, a taste of Thai, and the bicycle creamery all seem to have. Anyone who reads this review be aware of the scamming in this store, try to avoid them or hell if your curious...go see for yourself and pay close attention the the demeanor of the person ringing you up, and don't forget to question everything...they will stumble on a reasonable answer. This "neighborhood market" is a sham! The prices are dictated by whomever happens to be cashiering at the time. For a $8.99 item I've paid as much as 10.99 and that's for a single item. I'm from LA and my local Korean markets don't rob you that bad. Not to mention, they sell crack pipes. This is supposed to be a somewhat exclusive part of this town.
