SInce the new store opened on the south end of town the pressure has been lifted form this location. It used to be extremely busy, now it is an enjoyable experience. I always love the huge variety of fresh produce and delicious snacks!

I didn't frequent this location until I changed jobs and my office is so close! It's been nice to grab something on the way home and not have it feel like it needs to be a well planned advanced effort to get there. I do still find the corner placement of this store odd, with all the cars in the WHOLE strip mall (and it's a big one) clustered to the TJ entrance. I wanted to highlight two things I love and will keep coming back for. One I've known about for years. Where else can you find shelled frozen soybeans (edamame)? I boil it for just a few minutes and put some butter and salt on it. I can just eat it up daily. They have a perfect firmness to them and the slight nutty flavor is welcomed. These are way less work than the frozen ones in the pods that are housed right next to it in the store. My second item was something I just picked up to try. I am a sucker for all things sweet. This sweet corn salsa is to die for! It's the perfect mesh of sweet and spicy. Believe me, you'll finish half a jar yourself in your first sitting. Trader Joe give the regular grocery shopping experience a much needed fun vibe and keeps things interesting. My friend tried the corn salsa and has never been to TJ. I can't wait to take him there for the first time. It's such a great unique experience ! I'm so excited Reno opened two more. Whoohoo!

One for a friend one for me!

Love the new store in Sparks! Always lots of fun new items to try! Love the Blue cheese potato chips, so addicting!! Never a dull moment here with the hustle bustle of the shoppers and super friendly staff, I look forward to every visit and spend way too much lol! Lots of Christmas goodies get them quick they'll sell out fast!

5/8/2024- Social media posted the Japanese Soufflé Cheesecakes.. Decided to call before heading down: Five stars for an actual real person answering the phone..! Describing what I was looking for he was so nice and went back to make sure.. they just arrived.. Decided to put four on hold.. Also found out where the new items are shelved.. One employee stopped me and said she bought ten.. oh no... Lucked out because they also had the blueberry lemon hand pies-.. Taste test and wow! A good day today!!

I love Trader Joe's for a lot of reasons but, It did take me a while to warm to it when I first moved here from Alaska years ago. I'm long since over that silliness. I'm a huge TJs fan. It's like the Disney land of markets. Everyone is so dang happy to see you and helpful in every way. It's the happiest market in Reno. I feel so at home strolling through this store. It's just an inviting environment of fabulousness. It's become a priority activity to catch the seasonal treasures that Trader Joe's carries. I went in today specifically for Valentine's Day goodies to send to grandkids in a state that doesn't have one of these said stores. I was not disappointed. There were sample stands highlighting s handful of V-Day goodies and I grabbed them in duplicates. What I didn't expect to find, nor was I looking for was winking at me in the bread/bakery section. This is one of the best things I've found at TJs. I've never seen them before so I'm thinking that they're either new or seasonal. I highly recommend and encourage you to check these out while there still in stock. This is my new crack.. BROWN SUGAR CARDAMOM BUNS Sweet Rolled Danish Pastries If you are a fan of Cardamom and tender yummy pastry like the pastry selection you'd find in, perhaps Bouchon Bakery then this is for you.i elevated it by heating it for a couple minutes in the air-fryer.. Ooooh hon-ey!

My number 1 grocery's store in Reno! I have been going to this store for many years for key essentials from toiletries to my fruits, vegetable, and meats. Even when they are busy their team works so fast making sure they bring their A game every day! On my recent trip, I even dropped a jar of jelly and it shattered all over the ground, and they were so kind enough to clean it up for me and make me feel bad at all for it. Keep up the amazing work over there and I will keep on spending my paycheck here

Trader Joe's is an addiction. My kids love hunting down Alphie while shopping here so when I say let's go grocery shopping they always ask to come here. Now don't get me wrong. I love TJ's too but when you're feeding two growing boys and a family of four total, it's tough here. I love almost everything I see here but it's not always economical with some of the pack sizes so I tend to keep my hauls to snacks, sauces, cereals, cheeses, and freezer staples and surprises! Those categories let me lean into my impulses when I see a great item, as one should at TJ's because if it looks great, it's likely great! Last visits landed me salsa cacahuete (peanut), Vietnamese simmer sauce, and a Yuzu kosho "hot sauce", amongst other things. I have only tried the hot sauce and it's very unique. I've found many applications for it and it really amps up a lot of dishes. My kids love the almond butter puffs cereal, so we almost always get that, and it's hard to pass up a lot of the great items they scatter around the store. P.S. the staff is so friendly. They offer stickers for the kids and even ask you about the cool stuff you find in the store. And if your kids do manage to find Alphie they get a lollipop on the way out!

Stopped by here to grab some snacks and last minute ingredients for a meal on a weekend vacation at Lake Tahoe. Visited during the night so there weren't many people, so easy parking. But it's part of a larger plaza with plentiful parking anyway. Bright and spotless location. Everything was orderly and easy to find, as typical of any TJ's location. Checking out was swift and painless, and navigating the isles was easy due to the lack of shoppers.

Trader Joe's, like Costco, is one of those stores that I seek out no matter what city I happen to be in. While I wish there was more than one location here in Reno, we are lucky to have one. The staff here are always friendly and helpful - and the store is kept well stocked. I love all the things that make Trader Joe's unique starting with its laid-back Hawaiian vibe. I know I can count on Trader Joe's if I ever need inexpensive but beautiful flower arrangements or assorted succulents for gifts. I can count on them for fresh fruits and veggies - organic or not. I can count on them for ready-made lunches for picnics. I can count on them for having an interesting assortment of frozen hors d'oeuvres. I can count on them to have something to satisfy my sweet tooth (my current fave is their dark chocolate peanut butter cups). I can count on them to have a nice selection of wines from around the world (I especially like the ones from Spain). Oh and all the cheese! I really love it when they have seasonal halloumi in stock! And they have all kinds of pastas (I can't find pappardelle cheaper anywhere) and spices! I recently picked up new-to-me Ajika - a Georgian seasoning blend described as "spicy, garlicky & deeply aromatic & savory." And perhaps the best part is that ALL of these things are reasonably priced!! Trader Joe's mission is to "transform grocery shopping into a welcoming journey full of discovery and fun since 1967." They have succeeded!

Being on vacation from Texas , this was a sight for sore eyes! We didn't find everything we wanted but we found enough. Love ya, Joe!

Anna assists me almost every time I visit, and she is a absolute joy. She always has a genuine smile on her face and possesses the best attitude. Honestly, it's some of the best customer service I've ever experienced anywhere. She consistently turns a routine grocery trip into a great day. Unfortunately, my experience at the deli counter recently was the exact opposite. I went to order a sandwich and, as a first-timer, didn't realize there was a paper form I needed to fill out first. I stood waiting for assistance, and a staff member named Teri walked up, mumbled something, and immediately started to walk away. Because I couldn't hear her, I politely asked her to repeat herself. Teri responded with an incredibly dismissive attitude, acting as though asking for clarification was a major inconvenience. She then repeated, "You need to fill out the paper," speaking very condescendingly, as if I were unable to understand basic instructions. Even after I explained that I had never ordered a sandwich here before and simply didn't know the process, her attitude remained hostile. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and off-putting interaction. If it weren't for Anna completely turning my mood around at checkout per usual, I would have walked out incredibly frustrated. Management has a real gem in Anna, but they desperately need to address the customer service standards and basic courtesy at the deli counter.

Located directly off of S. Virginia St and adjacent to S. Meadows Pkwy in the southern part of Reno, this is one of three locations in the Reno metropolitan area (with the other two stores in north Reno and Sparks). The parking lot is actually quite spacious with ample room to get in and out to the main road. During my visit which was on Friday 7/3/2026 at around 1:30pm, it was fairly busy but the store itself had a great open layout. Those of you that don't know this about WinCo Foods is that they are a private employee-owned company. Prices are probably the best you will find anywhere other than Costco but here you won't get the massive crowds that Costco experiences on any given day. Keep in mind that WinCo only accepts cash, debit cards, and Apple Pay/Google Pay as they do not take credit cards of any kind. Also, you must bag your own groceries but this is their trademark to all of their locations in the western United States. I do want to add that since this is the state of Nevada, this WinCo actually has a small dedicated area (towards the front) where slot machines are available. This is great for those that want to avoid the hustle and bustle of going to an actual casino. In addition to that, they also have an area where alcohol is sold, a customer service area (where you can buy cigarettes, money orders, money transfers, payroll check cashing, and much more). Public restrooms are also available towards the front area of the supermarket. As for the store itself, much of the produce (fruit/veggies) was very fresh and well stocked. They also carry a huge assortment of bulk foods (nuts, rice, pasta, flour, candy, etc.). an amazing variety of meat & poultry, a dedicated bakery and deli section, and just about everything else you can think of. I find their selection to be much better than other big box grocery stores as this place always carries what I am looking for. Best of all, they are open 24 hours. When I made all my purchases, I went to the self check-out aisle (as they accept cash, debit, or tap-to-pay). The whole process was seamless and easy. All in all, the south Reno "WinCo Foods" gets a respectable four-star rating.

She was covering the service desk and I came in to return a defective item. As I approached the desk, she was looking me up and down with a very strange expression. So because of this, I wasn't affable but I definitely wasn't rude. I cut to the chase of why I was there. She treated me VERY badly which I ignored for the most part, stating that in all of the years that I've shopped at Winco I've never been treated so poorly. She responded by saying that I was the problem and invited me to call the corporate office! Then she said aggressively, "I've had three horrible customers in one day!" repeating it a few times. I asked to speak to a manager and she quipped that he was busy and he couldn't get away so I asked someone else to page him for me and she interfered with that page, telling them to cancel it. This is a brand new store and everyone else is amazing which is what I'm used to. I wrote this shortly after the store first opened and haven't had an unpleasant experience since and I shop here weekly. I also have not seen Linda.
