Her ci-worker went and checked and learned that there is no back order and that there is no date as to when that will change As so many of the employees at this location do, he went and checked out whether or not they had any in the back. I love how organized this location is, how friendly the staff is and how tidy they keep it! The bathrooms although only one stall which can be hard when there is a line, usually are kept cleaned and stocked! They have the best prices for organic produce and great selections on snacks and pantry staples! My favorite is their cheeses and wine. The employees are also always so eager to help if you need to find an item or simply there to greet you with a smile or hello. Out of all the businesses I visit traders has the best customer service and this location has never failed with that statement which is why I drive out of my way to come to this store. I didn't frequent this location until I changed jobs and my office is so close! It's been nice to grab something on the way home and not have it feel like it needs to be a well planned advanced effort to get there. I do still find the corner placement of this store odd, with all the cars in the WHOLE strip mall (and it's a big one) clustered to the TJ entrance. I wanted to highlight two things I love and will keep coming back for. One I've known about for years. Where else can you find shelled frozen soybeans (edamame)? I boil it for just a few minutes and put some butter and salt on it. I can just eat it up daily. They have a perfect firmness to them and the slight nutty flavor is welcomed. These are way less work than the frozen ones in the pods that are housed right next to it in the store. My second item was something I just picked up to try. I am a sucker for all things sweet. This sweet corn salsa is to die for! It's the perfect mesh of sweet and spicy. Believe me, you'll finish half a jar yourself in your first sitting. Trader Joe give the regular grocery shopping experience a much needed fun vibe and keeps things interesting. My friend tried the corn salsa and has never been to TJ. I can't wait to take him there for the first time. It's such a great unique experience ! I'm so excited Reno opened two more. Whoohoo! read more

Seems to be more busy than south Reno, it can get packed during peaks hours so show up first thing in the morning, mid afternoon or late evening if you wanna swoop in and out fast! read more

I love Trader Joe's for a lot of reasons but, It did take me a while to warm to it when I first moved here from Alaska years ago. I'm long since over that silliness. I'm a huge TJs fan. It's like the Disney land of markets. Everyone is so dang happy to see you and helpful in every way. It's the happiest market in Reno. I feel so at home strolling through this store. It's just an inviting environment of fabulousness. It's become a priority activity to catch the seasonal treasures that Trader Joe's carries. I went in today specifically for Valentine's Day goodies to send to grandkids in a state that doesn't have one of these said stores. I was not disappointed. There were sample stands highlighting s handful of V-Day goodies and I grabbed them in duplicates. What I didn't expect to find, nor was I looking for was winking at me in the bread/bakery section. This is one of the best things I've found at TJs. I've never seen them before so I'm thinking that they're either new or seasonal. I love love love trader joes! I live 2.5 hours away from this location and I try to stop in once every month or two. Their dried fruits and nuts are my favorite snacks. They have reasonable prices and I enjoy shopping there. This place is popular, so if crowds are bar your thing go on the off times like early in the morning or later in the evening. My number 1 grocery's store in Reno! I have been going to this store for many years for key essentials from toiletries to my fruits, vegetable, and meats. Even when they are busy their team works so fast making sure they bring their A game every day! On my recent trip, I even dropped a jar of jelly and it shattered all over the ground, and they were so kind enough to clean it up for me and make me feel bad at all for it. Trader Joe's is an addiction. My kids love hunting down Alphie while shopping here so when I say let's go grocery shopping they always ask to come here. Now don't get me wrong. I love TJ's too but when you're feeding two growing boys and a family of four total, it's tough here. I love almost everything I see here but it's not always economical with some of the pack sizes so I tend to keep my hauls to snacks, sauces, cereals, cheeses, and freezer staples and surprises! Those categories let me lean into my impulses when I see a great item, as one should at TJ's because if it looks great, it's likely great! Last visits landed me salsa cacahuete (peanut), Vietnamese simmer sauce, and a Yuzu kosho "hot sauce", amongst other things. I have only tried the hot sauce and it's very unique. I've found many applications for it and it really amps up a lot of dishes. My kids love the almond butter puffs cereal, so we almost always get that, and it's hard to pass up a lot of the great items they scatter around the store. P.S. the staff is so friendly. They offer stickers for the kids and even ask you about the cool stuff you find in the store. And if your kids do manage to find Alphie they get a lollipop on the way out! read more

Trader Joe's, like Costco, is one of those stores that I seek out no matter what city I happen to be in. While I wish there was more than one location here in Reno, we are lucky to have one. The staff here are always friendly and helpful - and the store is kept well stocked. I love all the things that make Trader Joe's unique starting with its laid-back Hawaiian vibe. I know I can count on Trader Joe's if I ever need inexpensive but beautiful flower arrangements or assorted succulents for gifts. I can count on them for fresh fruits and veggies - organic or not. I can count on them for ready-made lunches for picnics. I can count on them for having an interesting assortment of frozen hors d'oeuvres. I can count on them to have something to satisfy my sweet tooth (my current fave is their dark chocolate peanut butter cups). I can count on them to have a nice selection of wines from around the world (I especially like the ones from Spain). Oh and all the cheese! I really love it when they have seasonal halloumi in stock! And they have all kinds of pastas (I can't find pappardelle cheaper anywhere) and spices! I recently picked up new-to-me Ajika - a Georgian seasoning blend described as "spicy, garlicky & deeply aromatic & savory." First of all, I like some of the products at Trader Joe's that you can not get anywhere else. They have great banana bread, nice thin frozen green beans, and good breads. The store is always crowded so that is one drawback to shopping here. But I must say that they always seem to have plenty of cashiers. I know this company has had products with recall's and that concerns me. For the size of the groceries they carry, it seems a bit much. So I try to stick to the items that I buy all the time. I do like when they serve samples because I always find something I like that I would never have thought to buy in the first place. And my husband likes the coffee samples as he loves his coffee and it gives him a chance to try different beans. The main reason for the 3 stars is the fact that I just bought 3 flower bouquets from Trader Joe's and all of them wilted after only a couple days. One was for me, and the other two for mothers on Mother's Day. I talked to them and they told me the same thing, wilted. So I think I will stay away from buying flowers there, especially for others. That's a shame because we always rely on Trader Joe's for flowers and greenery. read more

I find the produce doesn't usually last long and it's important to check it to make sure it's ok before buying. But where else can you get a big organic papaya for under $4??! I also love the greeting cards - .99 and they are always rotating them out with new ones. Customer service is the best too! You can return anything you're not satisfied with and it is incredibly easy. If there is something you love, you can call ahead to see if it's in stock and if so- they'll set some aside for you. Wow!! That said, products rotate too so stock up if there's something you're addicted to I am sometimes sad when foods I love are no longer stocked but I get it. (I don't get why Myntz has a new flavor that is far crappier but I am sure if I ask- they'd find out for me!). Fall is here so pumpkin madness has taken over. If you love pumpkin-everything, go now! Quality/Quantity - I used to buy the beer here, they have a decent local beer section; see picture. I now travel (road trip) with their corn chip dippers; they are the perfect size and texture for me to eat while driving/snacking on long road trips, especially since they do not leave many crumbs!! Wifey buys all this fancy TJ stuff, most of which I do not eat but this is the only place that carries it, so they have a very loyal customer. While she shops, I like to check out their seasonal stuff, promotions, beer, and wine. Lastly can someone say two buck Chuck? Now, it is $3.49; see picture. Atmosphere - Like the decor, especially the local support, see pictures. I appreciate all the handwritten signage; it gives the store a personalized character. Not many brand names, actually mostly private labels; but they do well! Focus on organic, gourmet, vegetarian, unusual frozen foods and specialty products. Focus on unique and interesting products; the bad part of this is that if you find something you really like, and the item gets discontinued, it may never come back... Relaxing Tiki environment/culture for crew members, from the shirts to environment. Only 4,000 sku versus regular supermarkets with 50,000 sku. Service - Above average. Price - Good value, especially for hard to find stuff. No sales, no coupons, no loyalty programs; just everyday good value. Went in today specifically looking for a couple of new plant babies to bring home, and they did not disappoint. Found a very healthy aloe and beefy baby cactus to introduce to my plant room. This is my favorite grocery store! It is small but has everything you could possibly need or want. Trader Joe's sells their own brands and does not have a lot of big labels, but there products are amazing. I can always count on fresh produce and meats. The seasonal items are also a big draw. For instance, there is pumpkin everything for fall. As we get closer to Christmas you will see more peppermint inspired foods. These items are not carried year round. Which I love. It makes the items feel more special and allows for a smaller store. The smaller store is a huge benefit because it cuts your shopping time way down! It also doesn't have that overwhelming feeling that most large grocery stores do. Once you have shopped here for a while, you will learn where all of the items are located and it makes shopping that much easier. I also love their unique products! My husband loves the carne asada burritos and tikka masala meals. I shop here once a week and can usually get out of there with everything I need for my husband and I for around $100. The cost will creep up if we are purchasing for holidays or are really treating ourselves but not by much. The store can get crowded on the weekends, since it is a smaller location. They sell reusable bags that will also make your shopping trips a breeze. I love the refrigerated( insulated) bags and the net bags for produce! Reusable and mother earth approved! I sent in my seven year old to go in for a snack a few days ago so she could practice math and get a little socialization in. She was terrified of going in by herself, but eventually mustered up the courage to do so. The moment she came out of the store, I saw the biggest smile on her face. She immediately told me about her experience and how a worker approached her and guided her through her transaction. She also told me that the worker was really nice to her and acknowledge her efforts in shopping on her own. Her visit was topped off with a lollipop and stickers. Also, a bucket full of confidence and knowledge was gained on top of the delicious cherries she picked. A few days later (today) Donelle, a worker, was so nice and patient with my kids. She engaged the children with counting and let them help scan items. She was the cherry on top of our day. Trader Joe's has been giving us non-stop, magical experiences like this for as long as we could remember and I just had to write something down this time because I would like to add on to the other endless well deserved praise and let the world to know that you will not find friendlier service anywhere else. When you go into Trader Joe's, the environment is super welcoming with custom art on the walls and nice vibes all around. They have all the staples you need and their own version of every single snack and popular foods you know and love, including Oreos (Jojo's), frozen Tikka Masala, macarons, key lime cheesecake, pot roast, pizzas, specialty cheeses, pork belly, frozen Mac n cheese, peanut butter cups, gnocchi, and the list goes on. What's more is that all of their food is for the most part, less processed and non GMO. You don't have to take my word for it, you can just taste it. On many occasions, I've made food from their store for parties and everything I prepare always gets rave reviews (I used their fresh pizza dough for custom pizzas, their cheese, crackers, dried fruit and nuts for charcuterie boards, frozen appetizers). They have beautiful affordable flowers, hip greeting cards, the best tote shopping bags for the best prices, and are the masters of specialty foods for the holidays. You can get all healthy food options here at affordable prices and their selections are kept to a minimum so you won't get stuck at the shop trying to figure out which brand to choose. Me and my family are one of many that love Trader Joe's and if you visit yourself, you'll see why. So this TJ is a bit smaller than most, and gosh can't wait until they open one closer to the lake. But, the employees here are always nice, as with every TJ. They actually have a better stock of those hard to find items because not everyone here is trolling the new inventory like we do in the bay . Let's just say, I often found many Ube ice cream pints here when it was sold out elsewhere. It's worth a stop for some of the all time favs. The wine choices in Nevada are also different than CA. So my fav $6 cava can't be found here but they have their own version it seams, at $7. Trying it! Note: liquor is more expensive everywhere compared to CA. I have always loved going to Trader Joe's especially during the holidays. They always have unusual and interesting things to get friends and family. While I wouldn't recommend Trader Joe's as an everyday type of store as they do not carry as extensive of an item list as say a Safeway or Smith's, they do have many things that cater to a "quick and easy" type of lifestyle. They also have several affordable but drinkable wines and other alcohols, cute plants, and I always have to stop by for seasonal items. I also always stop by when I'm getting a charcuterie board ready for their cheeses! There are a ton of microwaveable meals and a great selection of tasty mix and eat salads. If I regularly worked on that side of town I could definitely see myself stopping by many times a week for lunch. read more
