From the follow-up calls when I first scheduled my appointment, to being given Dr. Ben's personal cell phone number in case I had any concerns, to the personal phone call from William before the procedure, every detail was handled extremely well. The entire office is truly dialed in. You can tell a tremendous amount of time and effort has gone into building a team that works together so well and consistently provides such a high level of care and service. Dr. Piper prescribed Lantus, which wasn't covered by my insurance, then switched me to Semglee, which no nearby CVS carries. His office refused to send the prescription to Walgreens and told me it was my responsibility. You can't speak to anyone directly, everything is done through a frustrating app or voicemail. He also prescribed the Libre 3 Plus sensor that wasn't covered by insurance, then dismissed my concerns when I explained the pricing issue. Today is the appointment and as I'm answering the clinicians questions her supervisor (Practice owner Dr. Bricken) walks in and she gives him a brief overview of what we had covered thus far and Dr. Bricken shuts it all down when he heard I used vices-social drinker only weekends. He didn't bother to inquire how long ive been drinking nothing. Immediately recommended substances abuse therapy. I was disappointed and frustrated. I had just driven an hr and 20 mins, wasted 35min answering questions disclosing intimate details about how im feeling only to be told get help for alcohol I drink on weekends and something thats legal in other states but not in TX. So I tried calling back requesting the manager Megan to call and answer what type of appt was I scheduled for bc, I have the impression they thought I wanted an ADD/ADHD do and med. Needlessly to say its almost EOB and no refund of my copay (Dr. Bricken stated would be refunded today) and no call back from OM. I had to give a star to give review. If you're seeking mental health assistance i wouldn't reccomend this place. Staff come off judgmental and don't bother returning calls which is horrible customer service.

He gave every excuse as to why I shouldn't- seems like if someone is sent by their doctor- you do the procedure. They went for a dang reason. It's been a week and I am still sick. Covid seems to have brought the worst out of people and this guy is definitely 1. New management doesn't seem to have made a difference. He was smiling when I left. He was either lazy or evil. After completing the initial paperwork, Bill took us back to an exam room. We discussed my issue and the proceeded to have my blood pressure and temperature taken. Bill walked me through the process with expertise and kindness. It was determined I needed a cat scan so Cathy took over and walked me through the process with ease and whimsy. We were there for awhile because I needed several tests to try to figure out what was causing my pain but that's to be expected and was not an issue. Meghan checked me out without pressure or a judging look like I have previously experienced at other places. I actually felt good about paying! Dr. Powellson was in NO way friendly, welcoming, comforting, or helpful. He was, instead;rude, argumentative, interrupting, judgemental, cold, and dismissive. He was entirely focused on my mental health diagnosis-which was NOT why I was there-and treated my physical health, as well as some important concerns I tried to communicate, as an afterthought. The room was cold, sterile, uncomfortable, and so is Dr. Powellson. I was immediately put off and defensive with his demeanor, and his lack of focus on my physical health rather than my mental- he seemed to form an opinion when I told him my diagnosis- was confusing and frustrating. I jave a lump in my abdomen and another in my pelvis that he NEVER EXAMINED, or asked about them after I mentioned it. I felt judged, as though Dr Powellson has a bias about people with BPD. The building and the lobby made me want to turn around as soon as I got there, and Dr. Powellson made me so uncomfortable; feeling judged and argued with, and frustrated, that I walked out of the appointment within 5 minutes of meeting and talking to him.
