She is awesome when talking to the teens and they love her. If you are looking for a doctor that listens to your concerns and take the time to talk and does not rush the visit I highly recommend Lakeside Pediatrics Dr. Ayanna Rolette. Today I had scheduled appointments for well children visits for both of my daughters for school health exams, sports physicals, and immunizations for one entering 7th grade. I have been taking my girls here since they were babies...more than 10 years. My husband and I are small business owners and are between insurances trying to decide/figure out what's best for our family. So today, I arrive to my visit for the first time in my lifetime without insurance. The receptionist proceeds to tell me a well child visit as a private payer (without insurance) is 440.00 per child plus the cost of the immunizations (which would be extremely expensive). So I pick my jaw up off the counter and again asked what was the price? Yes, ma'am 440.00 per child... now I only know this is absurd because my husband also had a well visit recently at his physician at the Watson clinic for 135.00 (without insurance). So you're telling me that the price for your service is 3X what other Dr's are charging? Not today, and never will we return. So the real question is does Lakeside Pediatrics just not want to serve patients without insurance? VERY DISAPPOINTED! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Front desk is extremely rude and don't treat parents or patients with respect. I've had a bad taste in my mouth since the moment the doctor called my 2 year old HUGE repeatedly. But I gave them more chances because they're conveniently located and close to the house. But the last straw was just drawn, when the billing department was extremely rude and was not helpful at all. They have no bedside manner or really any manners at actually. I have used this pediatrics center for 1 year and always disappointed when having to deal with the staff at the front desk. It's hit or miss on if the staff of the day tries to turn you down for not having the physical insurance ID card versus the digital cards provided by the insurance company, it's very unlikely that the administrative staff will even return your call, and I recently had to turn down an appointment for a similar issue, because they would not except my insurance, even though I was fully covered for their lack of a timely response. read more

My son went to this doctor since he was a newborn the staff and doctors started off great however as the years went on (he is 4 now) the staff and doctors changed waiting periods (in room) began to be hours (literally) while you hear the office staff and nurses outside laughing and talking. when you ask them "advising you also have work and etc. they ALWAYS say "your next we just got busy". when you ask to speck with the office manager don't waste your time, she is always either "away" and will never call you back. my opinion This office isn't worth the headache and time. find another doctor - more professional that actually cares. read more

The staff is knowledgeable and experienced. I felt very comfortable bringing our newborn here. We moved when she was 9 months so I had to find a new pediatrician but we miss Lakeside Peds very much! They are always on top of everything. their wel child visits are thorough and they address your concerns on the spot. they are always educating you on milestones, things to look out for, and what to expect. Update: one and a half hours after our scheduled appt time we still havent been seen. So we are leaving. A doctors office that doesnt respect that my time is also valuable, on top of being ignorant about adoption, is no place for my family. I will notify our insurance and have them find a better provider. This office's insistence on an adoption decree for a 10 year old child is nothing short of offensive. I was not required to provide a DNA sample or even a birth certificate for my biological child, but the child I adopted 10 years ago required a court order. Do yourself a favor, save yourself the discriminatory treatment, and just tell them YOUR child is yours. No paperwork will be required. As an adoptive parent I have to say that even if the doctors prove to be amazing, I will still be disgusted and seeking alternative care providers. I love lakeside. I've never had bad care there. They have always worked us in with illness. They care. Staff answering phones is always helpful. We love Dr Chachad. Ms Cole who we saw today was fantastic and so understanding. I couldn't ask for better care for our kiddos one of who is autistic. We love growing with them. read more

We're fairly new to the area and are in the process of getting doctors, dentists, etc set up for ourselves. This place came highly recommended so we tried it for our daughter's annual well visit. Getting an appointment via phone was ok... They have a bit of a waiting period but I expected that. I was told to download new patient forms ahead of time to make the first visit go quicker. I did. I decided to stop in a few days early with my paperwork to help out. I was then given loads more paperwork, as the forms on the website haven't been updated, apparently. No biggie! It happens. On a confirmation call, I was told to be there at 1:10 for our 1:30 appointment, because it's our first visit. Oookay. Fine. No biggie. I got there at 1:10, handed in my paperwork and was told to sit and wait. Ok. So, we waited for our 1:30 appointment. We waited until 2:00, during which time, 6 other families arrived and were called by and some had finished their appointments. No biggie... I know they have lots of doctors that are doing lots of different things. And sometimes, things get behind. I get it. We were called back after 2, were put in a room, later a nurse came to do vitals, later the doctor came in. The doctor was fun and friendly and our daughter really likes her. That's huge for us! Her name was Dr. Harrison and we will definitely ask for her again. We were pleased with most everything; the staff were friendly, the office is decent, and our daughter wasn't terrified (which has happened elsewhere). We did have to wait a while, but I'm gathering that is probably just the case here. I'd rather not have to plan 2 hours for a well visit, but if that's just how it is, that's how it is. It's human medicine. It was just our first time there but so far so good! read more

EVERY TIME I have to go to an appt I have to wait at least 40 min just to see the doctor. I'm usually about 10 minutes early to my appts too and it's still this long. It's easily an hour and a half ordeal, 10minutes of which is with the doctor. A month ago I had to take my sick child in to be seen she threw up all over the room and instead of getting me something or some help the doctor left me to clean it myself. Fine it's my kid and her puke but at least get me something to clean with. The other day I had the wrong apt time, accidentally, I thought I was early to the appt and ended up being 18min late. I accept it was my fault I apologized and explained that I had the wrong appt time. Still Dr. Cannon REFUSED to see me. I have 2 kids, a baby and a toddler, it's hard to get them out of the house and on time. I was told I had to reschedule. This was the third strike with them. I am finding a new doctor for my kids. Both offices are very slow & the office staff is mostly filled with rude, dry personality office techs. read more

SLOW!!! Your child might be the only patient and it'll still take an hour to get through there! I don't understand why it takes so long to see the doctor! But I do like that you can see a doctor 7 days a week either at their north or south location. read more

Dr Rolette, Dr. Cory and the rest of the Lakeside Pediatrics office have treated our family well over the years. our son has Asthma and we have had many visits to the doctors office due to breathing related issues. As a father and grandfather I am appalled at the treatment my daughter and fiancee received after taking their newborn (two weeks old and two weeks premature) baby to Lakeside Medical South for a well baby check up. She was seen by Dr. Cara Cannon. Their son was only two weeks old and suffered a fracture during an emergency C section. Dr Cannon was not even my grandson's pediatrician, she was a surrogate. Upon examination Dr Cannon determined that this premy was underweight, this is a natural occurance for premature infants. Instead of informing and educating the parents on the proper amount of formula for their baby, this doctor threatened to call DCF and recommended the infant drink less formula, the new parents were astounded and crushed by this foreign doctor's treatment. I believe it was because they were young and African American, Dr.Cannon made good on her unfounded threat when the parents decided to change doctors the next day, and the day after that DCF did indeed come to their home, and found no basis for the Dr. Cannon's assessment. We strongly believe Dr Cannon's actions were retaliatory and discriminatory in nature. If it walks and quacks like a duck, then it's a duck! We have logged a complaint with Medicaid and since sought legal counsel and look forward to seeing them in court. People of Color should not take their children here to see Dr. Cannon, to do so would be at your own risk. read more

My daughter was scheduled for appointment about anxiety medication and a wellness check. When we got there, we had to fill out paper work multiple times because they claimed they had not gotten it. After that we waited in the exam room for a while and was told what was going to happen. She got her height and weight checked, when she came back to the room she had her finger pricked by the first nurse. Then the nurse practitioner came in and was talking to us about the shots she was needing and told us that these two shots would be her last shots ever, mind that last time we were here about a year ago we were told when she got shots they would also be her "last". We talked and signed consent papers for the shots which we were hepatitis B and meningococcal. Soon after a different nurse walked in with her trainee and said that she had to get these two shots and that my daughter had only one more to get when less than 10 minutes before we were told she didn't have to get any more after today. So you could imagine the stress of being told multiple different things and not know what you can believe at this point. They had walked in, without explaining anything they were going to do or even introducing themselves. She started to roll up my daughters sleeve without even asking what arm she would like the shots in or even asking her if she was ready. My daughter has anxiety which was the focus of this appointment, so she was stressed out immensely and started to cry. My daughter then politely asked her to do the right arm even while bawling her eyes out she asked for a moment to calm down, and the nurse just continued to roll up her sleeve on her right arm she continued with this, even after my daughter had asked for a moment. She also continued to take that alcohol wipe and clean her arm off even after my daughter needed a minute and was scared because of everything going on. Finally, she had stopped what she was doing and not even 10 seconds after she proceeded to ask my daughter if she was finally ready. Then my child had said no but just do it because she was so ready for it to be over with. The nurse then proceed to administer the shots and left the room without saying anything other than we can leave the red folder on the front desk. I am immensely upset with this office and there lack of professionalism. The amount of miss information we were provided, and the lack of knowing how to treat pediatric patients is unbelievable. read more

I have been taking my child here for couple years now but recently not happy with calling and getting the rudest person on the phone that don't let you speak and are speaking over you. Took message for nursing staff to call after several hours later still no call back. So I called back and was told the message was never sent. This is not acceptable I have never had any issues with getting a call back before why now!! read more

I will not go back to this office. The front desk staff is rude. The nurses are beyond rude. I was sitting there for two hours and my kids half naked sitting in a paper cover. My son and daughter both needed a shot my son who is very sensitive to shots. And very scared although he's 13 all the nurse could say is I'm not going to deal with this I'm gonna go get somebody to hold him down instead of give him the chance to calm down. This office has no patience if you have a son or daughter who is autistic or have sensory problems. Also to get meds for a child it's ridiculous when my kids were there for a physical in the first visit I told them my daughter had asthma gave her the name of the meds the nurse practitioner said when you need meds call us will send a refill . I got nothing but problems told me I need to make app. my daughter has a better chance of surviving by going to a walk-in clinic then this facility. I'm a very easy-going person but I'm beyond pissed I rather drive back to Saint Pete pediatrics in St. Petersburg then to come here read more

Always so busy with lack of providers in an outdated facility. My appointment was at 5:10pm, here I am nearing 6pm and still not seen or called to the back! After this appointment I will be changing providers because this is ridiculous. By the way, the nurses in front talk smack about both your child and you if you complain about the wait. 20 minutes is ok, 30+ is ridiculous for a Tuesday! I'd expect that on a Friday or Saturday. This shows that the lack of time management and providers is a big problem! I use to come here as a little girl when Dr. Daniel Levington was still at lakeside but I guess since he retired it's gone down hill. read more

Best office! My children have always felt supper comfortable at the office and absolutely love Dr. Cannon. The office has always been available for questions or concerns that inevitably arise while raising children. I am easily able to find an appointment time that works for our schedules and with the provider of our choice. I recently had a baby boy and it was time for his newborn checkup, I scheduled with Lakeside Pediatrics since that is where I went as a child. They had excellent procedures in place to practice social distancing during this pandemic. We ended up seeing Dr. Rolette, she is very personable and knowledgeable, she was my pediatrician as a child and she takes great care of her patients. read more

Dr. Cannon can't be bothered. She literally said to me on the teleconference that she "was staying late" (which by the way it was 4:15) and she acted like she could care less on an issue that was really important to our child. Everything is a disaster - I have complained numerous times and they really don't care. We are going to another clinic - life is too short for this place. Dr. Cannon won't make it long in this town with her horrible attitude and lack of caring for children. read more

Office staff lacks customer service skills...very rude and unfriendly. Lost two patients today.

I have never been so upset by a doctor visit that I wrote a negative review, but today's appointment (or lack of an appointment) has caused me to write one. I have been mildly annoyed with this office for very long waits and a not so clean office for some time, but I liked the fact that they always were able to squeeze us into the schedule. Today, however, I had an experience that has caused me to pull my children off the patient list and find a new doctor. When I arrived for my appointment, I waited nearly 25 minutes before I was called over to give the staff my insurance card. When I did, we discovered that the new insurance card had me with a different primary care provider. I called the insurance and had a confirmation number for the change to be made, but apparently the doctor, Dr. Ramos, who was perfectly content to have me wait in the office for almost a half hour past my appointment time, could not be bothered to wait the ten minutes for me to resolve the issue and decided to cancel my appointment. I spoke with Holly, the office manager, and I requested that she ask the doctor to reconsider since this was a short appointment and I had to leave work early in order to be there. She said the doctor would not change her mind. Then, I requested that she ask any of the many other doctors and nurse practitioners to try to fit us in, but she said none of them had time either. It was pretty clear to me that the office has a double standard and a consistent attitude of poor customer service. I requested our medical records, and have moved to a new office, and I strongly recommend that people considering this office for their needs reconsider. I did want to note that the two receptionists at the front desk were very kind and tried very hard to make things work out. I feel sad that any bad review I would give might reflect on them and their empathy for patients, as they made every attempt at helping resolve the issue that they could. read more
